    Yes! You’re the only U100 video to cover HA! I thought the M2 was the only hub getting the matter firmware upgrade. Is the E1 getting that too?

      HA. What gives you the idea I am an apple fan? I get a TON of questions on HomeKit, that is why I mention it so much. Just ignore that fact I am typing this on a MacBook...

    Two methods to add it to HomeKit. The Bluetooth way is unreliable and became unresponsive for me. Bind the lock to a m2 Aqara hub which uses matter solve my issue.

    It looks a good lock, but in the UK most doors have changed the way the lock and this door isn’t suitable.
    We have a euro cylinder that is the lock/key and this rotates and flicks a latch then this release the lock then push the handle down to release the latches that are up the door then you can open the door. Then in reverse to lock but if you haven’t lifted the handle you cant lock the door.

    Hey Ryan, installed this at my dad's house (apple user). He had no hub. I set up several users on the lock and about a week later the lock didn't show in aqara app but did show in the home app. All users could still access it but I couldn't add/remove users. Eventually reset the lock.now,the lock is showing in the apps but I couldn't get in with my code or fp. Any ideas on theses problems? Too far from wifi? No hubs?

      Hi, you only allow to change the user data or setting when you connected the U100 lock via bluetooth. That means you may come close to the lock

    • @cslink23
      @cslink23 11 місяців тому

      @@kinseycreategoods my initial problem was that even though I was standing at the lock the lock didn't appear in the app. You can't make user changes without it. And, the lock card should appear in the app even if you're miles away. Thanks for the reply

      @@cslink23 If the lock has already been added, maybe you can find the U100 in the "accessories" of the aqara home. Then in the settings page of the u100 you can add the door lock to the home board.
      But . . .maybe Aqara would be a better way to go if it offered a local setup feature.

    Nice video, but why can’t you cut new keys? I just bought this lock yesterday from Amazon and could not find anything about the keys. Family of 4 and we need that manual key for a peace of mind if things go awry.

      Apparently the Aqara key way uses non-standard pins. Another UA-cam reviewer tried to get it re-keyed and it couldn’t be done.

      @@ThisSmartHouse thanks for the quick reply. Can your existing deadbolt cylinder be used in place of the provided Aqara deadbolt cylinder?

    No ability to see which user unlocked door in HA. I have automations which use this with my current zwave lock depending who unlocked, and even add or remove users from HA. If it showed the current user I would consider one even if I had to manage users with aqara or homekit. Seems like most reviewers never address this. Maybe is currently a Matter limitation.

    • @ThisSmartHouse
      @ThisSmartHouse  11 місяців тому

      I think it is a matter limitation. I agree but home assistant doesn't have a fleshed out user system. You might be able to do this via the homekit to home assistant integration. Or using one of the cloud based Aqara integrations.

    • @bsem68
      @bsem68 11 місяців тому

      @@ThisSmartHouse According to a thread on HA forums, it is not currently possible to retrieve the user in a way that HA can see. In Aqara app can only do this in automations with other Aqara devices linked to app, and HomeKit does not have any automation ability based on user. Is unfortunate.. if I never had created a need for this user code unlock feature currently, I probably would not care and already purchased the lock since it seems very good for the price. An example of a couple things I do with user code is to disarm home alarm, and to take a picture of particular users from doorbell cam and email me when they unlock the door.

    Maybe I’m not calibrating correctly but if I leave my door open, eventually the deadbolt will extend out on its own I’m assuming after a few minutes. Almost slammed the door a few times now without realizing the deadbolt is extended. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong?
