Interesting story about Colors They started off as a DS homebrew game as In not official, people would buy pirate carts and put colors on their DS Then they got an official release on the 3DS which Is more less the same, It even works with the switch but with a camera option for you to use a reference
I'm interested in seeing how you get on with this...I have Art Academy for my Nintendo DS - haven't played it in years! I must dig it out. I keep looking at Switch, but haven't upgraded...yet.
You're the first person I've seen talk about art academy. I miss it so much on my Wii U . Had to sell it long ago. Home studio got me into digital art when I had no tablet. I had lessons for everyone on 3ds before that . Wish they'd bring it back!
Thank you for this video.I’m a hobby artist and I’ve never drawn digitally. I bought the colors live game and it’s great that you give such good advice ❤
Really didn’t expect to enjoy this all that much, but, as always, you made it fun and interesting. Why, oh why did I doubt you, lol. Glad you had fun and I thought your pics turned out great.
Groovy gift idea for birthday / Christmas. Several friends and family lurv their switches & this looks like a great, 'kick back, relax' addition to their take a break time. Thanks for sharing this!
Your drawings were beautiful! I got Colors Live for my birthday last year, but I've only played it like 3 or 4 times. I love to color, but my drawing skills could be better. The best thing I drew in that game was a smiley face. I'll have to revisit the game sometime and really dig into it. Love your hair btw!
Hullo Gem! You are amazing! I have had many first time users of Photoshop and even Procreate that do not do as well when picking up a stylus! Your Switch seems to be a very good drawing tablet! I remember when I got my first Wacom tablet and it was a while before they made a wireless pen! I recall trying to “paint” in Photoshop with a mouse! Not easy and nothing as nice as your accomplishments in this video! Well done Gem! Thank you for sharing this “game” with us!
This looks like a fun game to try, should I ever get a Nintendo Switch. Maybe I'll reward myself for Christmas this year, if I meet my weight loss goals. So far, I'm doing great, finally got to test my Posca Pencils 😃 Joshi turned out great!
Hi! Mine is really stiff (my OLED is only a few months old) but there is a little notch cut out in the middle of the stand - I hook my nail under there and it pulls out easily. Hope this helps!
That looked like a lot of fun! I generally do not like pens with nibs like that because you can't use the entire tip and can't vary strokes by tilting the pen but that one seemed to do Ok. That ice cream needs to be a sticker.
I have an OLED switch too but the pen and game combined are pretty expensive. I think I'll stick to Procreate on my iPads. Though of course there's no games there. Had no idea it existed as I've not had the switch for long. Really different but such a fun video. One layer? Schoolgirl error, Gem. 😀

does anyone know how she got the stand out? 10:48. I have tried for 30 minutes but it just feels like my switch is going to break

You can never go wrong with a Yoshi
Oh no! My daughter is left-handed, but she wanted this game really badly :( I hope it's better than what you said. Thanks for the review!
It has left handed mode
That was quite different! I've never really done any digital art, but it's interesting to see what's out there 👍
