And some Trekkers said that this starship design couldn't work onscreen. Now THIS is a true TOS prequel ship and done right...

@Snake Plisken Who said anything about Enterprise?

    • @LordEradicus
      @LordEradicus 3 роки тому +4

@Snake PliskenTo be fair, this design was never said onscreen to be a Daedalus-class. It's presumably sometime before TOS, however, and that's good enough for me. This vid was very well done.

There's something to be said about why the Enterprise's primary hull is more appealing. Since it's stretched out it makes for a better glamour shot.

Best version of a Daedalus Class I have seen.

That's the sort of music I think fits for pre-TOS eras. It emphasises solitude and vast distances that the Daedalus class and other ships of the time faced. Even more so for earlier eras such as the late 20st century when perhaps an exploratory mission probably consisted of a command ship, a mission scout or two and several other support ships for defence and refuelling.

Obviously a Daedalus class these were the ships before The Constitution classes came about. This class of ship makes a brief appearance in the Star Trek fan film Star Trek continues. Also doing a little plug here the virtual reality world second life has a role-play group. They have built a full size Daedalus class that you can actually walk through. Along with the Aries and a few other ships.

Nice take on the Daedelus Class!! The Horizon which visited Sigma Iotia II was one of these. The left behind several cases of old books including one detailing the Organized Crime culture of Depression Era Chicago.

Very nice, does anyone else think of the USS Discovery from 2001 when looking at these Trek ships with a sphere at the front?

      - nice ship design

May be why they change the Enterprise design with a saucer section. This was base on the original Enterprise design and 2001 had been in production for a couple of years before its release.

If they ever decided to pick up after enterprise, I’d like to see this class become the back bone of earths Star fleet. The NX series was experimental. Lore has it that this was Earths first production run of long range Star ships

They contemplated on using this design for the NX Enterprise since this was an earlier concept before they settled on what we all know in the original series. But they chickened out. They just had to have a saucer section. I like this design. It looks old and slower.

In the DNA you can see a little bit of the Discovery …
Not _that_ one, the ship from 2001: a Space Odyssey.
And that does give it a subconscious connection to early Human space travel as we've all seen that ship at some point.

it's CGI . Give it 100 years or less, we'll have an enterprise like off of star trek series. lol just call it the enterprise - they say art imitates life so why life not return favor?

  • @cadengrace5466

Exiting warp does not look like exiting hyperspace as JJ Abrahams did it. The man knew nothing about Star Trek. Exiting warp is a smoot gradual slow down and entering warp is the same - not these jolting stops and starts.

That’s why I hate the Kelvin timeline. It all looks like badly done Star Wars instead of Star Trek. I’m glad it an ‘alternative’ timeline. This way I can ignore it.
