FRANCESCO LIBETTA WILL PERFORM ON MARCH 16, 2009 in Fort Lauderdale,Florida www.miamipianofest.com
Assolutamente strepitoso! Una chiarezza e brillantezza di suono che valorizza la composizione al massimo. Splendido. E' l'interpretazione più riuscita di questa sonata.
Anyone writing a sonata “200 ans” to celebrate his anniversary in a month?
Libetta is one of the greatest pianists of our time; he's got it all: a master of technique, sensitivity, temperment, relaxed; I would put him in the category of Horowitz, Argerich, or Michelangeli.....if he is playing in my area, I will wait on line all day to buy a ticket.........
Quite a technical acrobat. Beautiful poise and dynamics, a fantastic interpretation :)
they were outstanding composers. you dont have to hate. Alkan was an extremely talented composer, but he decided to remain in obscurity, imagine all those things that his pupil did to him, the death of his friend Chopin and his illegitimate son, he didn't live a very happy life, but I still don't know why he gave up. Guess we are all different, if he would of been a bit stronger, imagine how known he would have been?
What a surprise!! I couldn't think on any other pianist that wasn't Hamelin when I was thinking on Alkan...Libetta is great!!!!!! =D!!
Incredibile...che forza!
complimenti!
Bravissimo!!!
"Cuter" "more entertaining" are not ways to describe a virtuoso performance of the highest level.
Though the tempo was too fast,
But it s such a good interpretation
that is insane.. bravo
I agree. If a composer as brilliant as Mendelssohn was once totally neglected and is now everywhere, why can't it be the same thing with Alkan?
I guess a major stumbling block is that he's so hard to play.
4:44 beautiful theme
bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so attracted to this man right now.
so cooool!!
@mdeonx16 I think Alkan's great, I really do. I have my own playlist of him. However, he's not a Beethoven or a Mozart.
Damn... Better than Hamelin's, in my opinion.
far better.
@mdeonx16: i hope so. We have to spread the word! :D awesome!

Hamelins performance in tokyo of this movement is virtually flawless. A few mistakes in 30 ans but I don't see Libetta playing it
tempo is 400 bpm ;):):):)
you might wanna try Ronald Smith.. slower than both this and Hamelin.. sounds cuter and somehow also entertaining..
but still, i think Hamelin wons this sonata, especialy the 30ans, no other version (i've heard) beats his..
No way! Renaissance is nice, but he's not Beethoven.
lol 2:25
Too fast. Too rapid.

Hopefully not, musical tastes are already superficial enough....
musique infantile et denuee de tout interet
commentaire inutile et denue de tout interet.
C'est mauvais. Musicalité nulle et aucun ressenti. Il joue vite, c'est bien, mais c'est tout.
