I'm just blown away by the quality and equipment level on this little scooter, and for the price, how do they do it?! It even has back-lit switch gear for goodness sake! Even my 1250RT doesn't have that! Great review Mark 💯
That looks like a quality runabout. I didn't get to see the Zontes stand as I would have liked to have seen it in the flesh. I'm a big fan of scooters especially useful for commuting or shopping saving getting the motorcycle out and togging up. Keep the scooter and small bike reviews coming. Any luck on getting a ride on the Royal Alloys?
Many thanks...I'll see if I can get a go on one from Poole Moto but they seem to fly out of the showroom soon as they come off the lorry :) Cheers mark
I actually find that a scooter is every bit as much fun as motorcycles and with these small bikes you can ride them hard and explore back lanes in comfort while carrying drinks and food under the seat along with camera equipment etc and enjoy the countryside.Im impressed by the ride quality with no crashing endemic of many 125 scoots..what a great spec and looks like a tMax from the front.Really good value and I think a superb cockpit!! Great review Mark.. you cover all aspects in really useful details especially the " cut scene" that gives us a brilliant idea of the riding position. It definitely looks like a 3-400cc..I hope they bring out a 350 that looks identical..I'd be tempted!!
Another excellent review Mark, I too had good look round at the bike show on Tuesday . Was interested to see if there was any sign of the 350 version. Had the pleasure of speaking with a very nice lady on the Zontes stand, who was very informative and clearly knowledgeable of the products. Sadly it doesnt sound as if it is imminent. I had considered the 310m but the styling it at best a bit divisive, albeit being good product. Dont think that has sold enough numbers to justfy bringing in the new model
@markpulling12 I was at the NEC on Monday having a good look round but must have missed you. I thought there wasn't as much there this year, no Harley, Lexmoto or AJS. The build quality of CFmoto was quite impressive, but they don't have many dealers signed up yet.
I didn’t go this year as show has so declined over last few years. Used to be exciting and packed out. Real atmosphere. Now like a walk in a derelict bike shop. The vlogs I have seen there make it look very empty whereas at one time was heaving. Plus no prices on some of the bikes crazy
Not mad on the aesthetics looks plasticy on screen at least. The writing is on the wall, chinese bikes will be the new RE as punters vote with their cash. Where I live there’s no dealers for 40 miles and all the small bike shop/ repairers have gone or there’s a huge wait if you can do work yourself. I keep my bikes a long time I just wonder the longevity of these products. Also not much youth on bikes where I live so who are the buyers? City commuters? Or me always commuted by motorcycle but not worked for a year and finding it hard to get employment at 65. When I had my honda 125 cubs they were about 8 bhp and 45 flat out if you are lucky, drum brakes. These newer 125s really are amazing and the lack of chain faff amazing. I am surprised the government aren’t incentivising this mode of transport for youth and everyone. Economy, space, pollution. Then again more for thieves to play with. Perfect review as always Mark. Having lived in Spain and worked in Gibraltar for a short while which is scooter mania, these will do very well especially in Europe. Also many many little bike shops in Spain at least
Awesome review as always Mark.. amazing bike and quality for the money.. I wonder how the warranty is if something were to go wrong with one of these.. looks good new though 😊 Pete
Great review as always mark. I'm in the market for a run around my africa twin is too big for commuting. I'm opting for the new yamaha rayzr £2300 otr and 150 mpgs. If the Chinese bikes get better on the fuel consumption the big brands will have a problem
Hi funny enough I was thinking about the Forza while riding this ...the Forza is much more expensive £5300 ? ...this rides just as well ..not quite as fast ...the Forza tops 75 mph .....the Forza has bigger underseat storage...but on the whole this competes very well Best wishes mark
Zontes have come out with some cracking models. The 350E Scooter and the TRG 1250 which looks suspiciously identical to the BMW 1250RT. I'm not sure when they will be available in the UK.
G'day Mark, great all-round scooter, stylish design and practical for City/ urban running around, are you allowed to park your motorcycle, and scooter on the footpath in the UK, we can so finding parking no problem in the City, cheers mate, Neil 🤠
Interesting that a scooter features span-adjustable brake and clutch levers whereas plenty of regular motorcycles at twice the price do not. I suppose the super-competitive nature of the scooter market helps ensure the customer is better served.
Hi Again Mark. Just one request. The average user needs to know exactly how much room there is under the seat, because it's quite important to know whether a full face helmet or decent amount of luggage can fit underneath. May I ask that you include these facts in your reviews. For me personally it has a big influence on buying decisions. Thank you!
I'm a bit confused as to why Zontes have released two very similar scooters - this and the ZT 125-M. What are the mechanical differences apart from the slightly dissimilar looks?
Hi same engine and performance but think of it more like a pcx honda size Vs honda Forza 125 ...I think it's just to give different sized scooters this one is smaller and cheaper than the M model Best wishes mark
@@markpulling12 Yet another brilliant review Mark. Just want to correct on this assumption here after digging around in my own research and soon to check (hopefully if in stock) the two models in my local dealer. The ZT125-M and ZT125-D are exactly the same size in dimensions HxWxL but the front design is different, the online user manual for the two bikes is combined, listing the specs as identical. The D front end is most certainly less angular and not as swept back, hence why you feel there is more room up front. Seems to me that the ZT125-D is a little more designed like a sports tourer whereas the ZT125-M styling a little more hybrid adventure/sports tourer in design appearance. Whether reach and comfort are affected by such I do not know. Offers currently on the ZT125-M puts both bikes in the same price category, it is just a shame in the UK market currently that the ZT125-D is only available in the one colour. One things for certain though, both these bikes length, price and fuel tank sizes create a nice middle ground between the likes of the n-max and the PCX with their lowly 7/8 litre tanks and middling horsepower and the premium pricing of the slightly larger Forza and X-Max of which they are more in competition with albeit dimensionally slightly shorter in length and storage capacity. Very much appreciate these detailed reviews for helping in informed choices of whittling down the current marketplace.
I can't understand how they ”managed” to make that tiny storage under the seat. I was very interested in this scooter, but seeing that storage, it turned to be a no-no, for me. And it feels so frustrating, as everything else is just OK. And don't tell me about top boxes. I really don't like them.
If you want storage. Get a maxi scooter. The only other option for the normal sized scooter like the zontes is the piaggio medley S that will hold 2 full face helmets. And also has 14.7hp.
@JDMz I have an Sym Symphony ST, it's not a maxi scooter and has enough space under seat, for a S sized Shoei Neotec 2 helmet, an Maxpedition Beefy EDC organizer, filled with air compressor, flat tire kit, the Sym toolkit and an Leatherman Wave multitool, also, I can put there a small notebook with the registration and insurance, an Oxford mini disc lock, and I still can stuff in my 3XL Rev'it summer jacket, on top of all these. So, if I don't go for Forza or XMax, I only can think of the Medley, you mentioned and the Sym Jet 14 Evo. Later edit: In the end, I went for a Forza. Amazing machine!
Same thing for me, the scooter seems so nice, but seeing that tiny storage is so dissapointing. The scooter looks nice and it seems to perform nice aswell, but i cannot believe that the manufacturer made a scooter with small amount of storage which makes no sense, scooters are meant to have more storage. I love it when i see the big storage under some scooters seats, i have a forza 300 at home and the storage under the seat is amazing can fit 2 helmets easily and still have quite enough space for a small grocery bag.
How comes Honda get 80 mph out of 125 are they like gangster's or something under company do they own the roads. ZT 125d should be able to go 70 mph 😒 so nice looking

Good review as usual. Went to Motorcycle Live and was impressed with the step up in the quality of Chinese bikes in general, especially CF Moto.
Thanks Simon yes I was there too on Monday and yes the cfmoto benelli zontes etc all look great 👍

Hi Pete ...I have a lot to do with zontes and they honour their warranty very well ..it's a great little scooter
Best wishes mark
Really good quality zontes 125 D brilliant good price nice scooter mark thanks for fantastic test ride👍

Great review as always mark.a really nice looking scooter and alot of scooter for your money. Zontes really do make quality bikes.
Many thanks james...yes zontes are one of my favourite makes in the small class bikes best wishes mark
Another great review Mark. How would you say this compares to the Honda Forza 125?

Velocità massima raggiunta?
@@sasarossi358 105 kmh
It doesn't compare because Honda are gangsters that own the government
If I lived in a city and had a peak hour commute a bike like this would be my transport of choice.
Yes definitely they are perfect for the city commute
Best wishes mark
Nice scooter indeed, could you make a review on the zontes 350D, please ?
I know times have changed, but my fizzy did those speeds and acceleration easily with a big bore kit and a Micron! and that was 37 years ago!
Haha I remember those days well 🤣 cheers mark

Happy new year, what the best Yamaha nmax 125, zontes D 125.
Hi I'd go for the zontes ... performance is just as good but it's better value
Best wishes mark
Thank you, good 2024.

How much does the scooter make in the Vmax?
Does it still have the issue with the key fob battery
Will you be testing the 18:53 zontes zt350 gk any time soon..looks like a bargain..

@@markpulling12 Apologies. I missed the bit where you say an open face helmet will fit (ie: not a full face). Sorry to have troubled you.

I just don't understand why scooter manufacturers are putting shiny piano black plastics on these scooters?
15 hp is Actually is the maximum allowed hp.
What? No top speed run? 😢
Haha 😂...it'll do 65 mph flat out
Can someone please tell me the max speed?
Hi 70 mph :)
@markpulling12 I'm gonna buy mine this week ❤️
@andorinhaslb hi ... Great choice 😁

A very pretty bike. You would have to have a top box, but it would takeaway from the swooshiness of atheistic........
Yes agreed it would spoil the looks a bit :)
How comes Honda get 80 mph out of 125 are they like gangster's or something under company do they own the roads. ZT 125d should be able to go 70 mph 😒 so nice looking
No, Honda 125s cannot achieve 80 mph. Maybe on the speedo or downhill but the true GPS speed is just touching 70 absolute max.
Surely the Sym Jet x is better than this. Cheaper and faster.
No not really the zontes is about 14 hp the sym about 12 hp ish
In reality though both do about 60/65 mph
Cheers mark
With this price range...I rather look at those Japanese scooters instead....Chinese made are not reliable !
Great tech and finish on this scooter 🛴, looks the business, fab economy. What else do you need...🎉 Thanks Mark great review x
