i bought my VH4 about 25 yeas ago, and it's still the heart of my 3-way rig, stil .. i love it. Keep up the good work! I'm curioous for the VH-X 4 though 🙂
You buy a Diezel, even secondhand. If ever, all of a sudden, after many years, something goes wrong. Just call Peter. He'll fix it, because he can't stand one of his amps not in working condition :-)

There's a reason why my amp GAS stopped 12 years ago when I bought a Herbert. In the end I bought a Bogner XTC a few years back as an alternative too. I love that amp as well, it's a different kinda thing, but it never became my "main amp", only an alternative. This week I got a 2nd hand Hagen based on how much I still absolutely love that Herbert after all these years, but all the reviews and discussion implying the Hagen (which wasn't out at the time I bought my Herbert) may be even more by bag. Still too early as I'm obviously gonna be in honeymoon phase still, but I think this now may well officially be my "main' amp. It's absolutely superb. No, it won't quite match the massive punch the great Herbert has with its 2 extra output tubes, but the bit less compression and openess seems to gel even better with me and dynamics/volume knob use and take pedals a bit nicer too. Not that one *needs* drive pedals with this 4-channel amp, but some lighter drives added to the first 2 (or 3) channels means I can have many, many flavours from ch1 sparkly clean through a whole world of textures before I get up to the ch3/4 heavy riffs and wailing leads. The biggest bummer is although I love the extra channel and can make amazing use of it, if I change all my patches for a 4 channel amp, both the Herbert and XTC are a channel short if sharing the same patches! It's a hard life, eh, having too many great channels on your amp? 🤣 My music is pretty varied, so the first time I plugged into my first Diezel I basically knew I had to have it when I started on the clean channel. I hadn't got to any high gain (although I knew it's reputation), and was already blown away how much better the clean was than my old rig. Very little I've bought in my life has ever made me as happy for as long.
