@@longhairedbaldy1487 Purified fat tend to last longer in hot climate, like ghee which is purified butter. Someone must have tried to preserve the fat by purifying it and discovered that it can do more.

I grew up in Connecticut and we had three jai alai frontons there is also an amateur Jai Alai in the 1980s and 90s in Milford Connecticut which I managed for a few years. One of my favorite things to do was to pick out six of the best pelotas every day for when I would play lol (when Bridgeport Jai Alai closed we were able to get 120 pelotas to add to the 50 we already had) … I lived and breathed Jai Alai for 8 years and I dreamed every night of the sound that came from the crack of the ball hitting the granite wall
