Christmas tree fire destroys a living room in under a minute

- A house fire, most likely sparked by faulty Christmas tree lights, envelopes a living room in a shocking 46 seconds. Fire Kills wants everyone to enjoy their Christmas. Check your Christmas tree lights are in good condition, turn them off before you go to bed and be safe at home over the festive season. Keeping your tree well watered can also prevent fire from taking hold. Fire kills - you can prevent it. www.direct.gov....

People are going to do this all of the time
Reasons I prefer a fake tree
1. You don't die in a fire
2. You no need to water it or you die in fire
3. You no need to throw one away each year
4. No trimming required
5. Lights are included in some trees
6. No unexpected visitors inside the tree like rats and squirrels
7. ITS JUST PLAIN SAFER
Ernesto Ramirez I prefer a fake tree too but thank God I have one.
Ernesto Ramirez thank you for those reasons because I have a fake tree and I believe everything you said
But when the fake trees are involved in a fire, these too give off toxic fumes.
but rats and squirrels are sexy

I agree, not exactly the sound I would've used for this video.

Aside from a plastic tree, it may also be worth getting LED fairy lights instead of traditional bulbs, as LEDs require less power and thus don't get as hot.
Dyslexia people when they write dear Satan instead of Santa without any hesitation
0:26-0:31 is especially scary because you can see the lamp shade melt even though the fire has not yet reached that part of the room. That indicates it is extremely hot, at least at that level above the floor.
This is a 4 year old comment, so sorry for the resurrection, but I think the fire is hidden by the smoke, which is even scarier because you can't see it, you can see the fire crawl along the entire roof before being hidden by the smoke at 00:18. Imagine trying to run through a room with smoke covering the roof just to be engulfed by flames anyway. Also, you can see the lamp shade through the smoke until it burns and falls when the fire touches it.
When people think firefighters can easily put out fires because they are “always” bright and easy to see, here is proof that it’s not the case. Fire can hide in walls or behind smoke etc.

I remember seeing this in the theater before a movie. I couldn’t tell you what movie I saw, but this psa has stayed burnt into my mind. I looked it up just to make sure I wasn’t insane, but it actually exists. Please stay safe with your Christmas trees, guys, they really can catch flame if you have lights that are too hot.
Yeah I use fake trees and the lights are built in
The song just makes this video creepy.
Yeah, it's pretty morbid (considering there could have been people there), but I guess it's intended.
Yep
@AlanArtzUA-cam ツ bro it’s a Christmas song
Yes, now I shall never be able to listen to it now without thinking of this.
it’s not creepy music at all
This is why you water your christmas tree. Nothing worse than dry wood and needles for a fire.
so crazy....is that a real tree? mmmm
Yeah, it's a real tree. However the reason for my comment was because everybody was using this as an excuse to buy a fake tree. /Sighidiots
That's clearly not true - dry wood and needles are great for a fire
i could be mistaken J, but i don't think the fire was what they were aiming for. I guess it could be a present for a fire fighter?
luckily this fire is just what this living room needed! In a matter of weeks this living room will be able to grow new furniture in the fresh soil. The circle of life is amazing.

When Santa drops his mixtape.
As a new home owner, this stuff terrifies the living piss outta me.
That, and I went overkill on installing manual and remote-powered emergency shut off valves on water line:
- After the public main line connected to the private main line
- Before the feed into the fridge
- Before the feed into the washer
- Before and after the feed into and out of the whole house water filter
- Before and after the feed into and out of the tankless water filter
- Before the exterior spigots
- Before the irrigation valve
- Before and after the feed into and out of the pond pumps and filters
EVERYBODY in the neighborhood thought I was nuts. Then the 2021 freeze hit. Entirely uneffected.
You gotta admit, that fire had a fine sense of musical timing, starting itself right when the singing started like that.
Rip little bunny ❤ we will be there for you 😢
You would think they fast forwarded it to exxagerate things. But that is a classic example of how fast a fire spreads and flashes over. You have less than a minute to get out of the house. That is why smoke and heat detectors are extremely important. Unplug all Christmas trees and decorations before going to bed. Fire shows no mercy. Be smart and be safe.
im pretty sure the tree was one of these:
1 - very, VERY dry
2 - some gasoline or anything else, who burns good and fast
because ive never seen a tree (or anythng else) burn that quick without using any liquids that burn fast.
just call an idiot or anything pointless sh*t because i got another opinion, but i dont think its true
@@StaelTek Dry trees burn extremely fast, and hot, no need for gasoline. The small living room with the usual combustibles obviously plays a role, but any dry tree burning inside a house will mean problem, big big problem.
@@StaelTek In my opinion, the only thing worse than a real, dry tree, to have inside a house, would be that insulation they used inside The Station nightclub, around the stage, if it catches fire.
@@StaelTek And don´t forget, a fire sprinkler would still save the day :)

"Feliz navidad y prospero neuvo uno"
Title should say an UNWATERED Christmas tree fire. Big difference.
Follow these steps to mainatin the moisture within the tree:
1. Pick a place for the tree, away from all heat sources
2. With a straight cut remove between 1/2" and 1" from the bottom of the tree
3. Place a plastic sheet down to protect the carpet etc. from water, cover with a cloth for decorative purposes
4. Place the tree in a suitable stand with a water capacity of 3 - 4litres
5. Check the water level twice daily and top up as necessary
6. A mist spray is useful in addition to above
I was in a work place fire in mid June, the fire started in a dust collector and the flame was just about where the video shows the 4 second mark on screen when I started a fire extinguisher on it, it was unbelievably HOT! I was 10 feet away and at some point got 2nd degree burns on my arms and scalp from the radiant heat and had to get skin graphs, people have no idea how HOT a wall of fire like this is from watching a video- there's no way a person can put this out with a fire extinguisher- one can see how the fire grew massively in 5 seconds, even with a smoker alarm you'd never be able to get out of bed, grab a fire extinguisher and put this out- the radiant heat wont let you even get close enough!
This is why I have led Christmas lights and a fake tree
The music makes it even more chilling.
Moral of Story: Never use real trees in your house.
Best thing to do is put a tree outside so the entire neighborhood can enjoy it.
Nooooooooo the bunny!!!!
When the dyslextic kid accidentally wrote a letter to Satan instead of Santa:
True.
stop giving me heart attacks lol
this one comment is already making me hit the floor and laugh
Also keep it watered if it's a real one because it won't spread as fast
In any of the Christmas tree fire videos the comments are always about not leaving lights on when you're not home. The real issue isn't the lights it's a dry tree. Even if this room had 10 people in there the results would be the same. Once the tree ignited the people would not have had time to do anything but run like hell
Maybe we'll get an aluminum tree this year...
You know what, make that every year.
Yabeen Sees
Aluminum melts, and can potentially radiate flames anyway.
Imagine having some $500 of presents under a $100+ christmas tree and some $100 worth or lights and ordiments all go up in flames in less than 6 seconds and then that $700+ destroy your entire living room I would say that is one expensive holiday 🙃
Always use an artificial Christmas tree and low voltage LED lights.
I use an imaginary tree, they're much safer
The bunny gets burnt to a crisp at 49 seconds
the fact that there is a fire going on and the video is playing relaxing music makes this video hilarious
And this is why we get a fake tree
I have it but letter a b c
I feel bad for bugs bunny being in there
Mandown i repeat man down
We lost Sargent Bunny to the fog
This is how Scorpion makes his entrance if he was Santa Clause.
Wow. This was the most depressing video I have ever seen in my whole life.
You no longer have a lovely tree to view whilst opening your presents and spending time with your family members.
Also, your living room is completely destroyed.
Always remember to turn off christmas lights when you leave a room, and if any bad damage happens, you only have yourselves to blame.
I think this video was one of those tests where the construct a room to see how quickly it will burn. I may be wrong but that’s what it looks like.
In 1 minute the room is gone but i assume in 2 more the house will be gone too
Whoever's house that is, they definitely did not have a merry christmas that year.
everybody stay silent for the bunny like if you agree
This is real scary how the tree became an unstoppable inferno in less than 15 seconds. I dont know why people just dont buy artificial trees? Even the one we had in the 1970s looked decent.
Christmas tree fires move very fast because they are very dry so they can move super fast, that's why if you have a real tree be sure to water it ASAP.

Pov: You accidentally write 'Satan' instead of Santa
✨🎄simplemente vengo a decirte feliz navidad y próspero año nuevo🎄✨
pero es simplemente Vengo a decirte Feliz Navidad y próspero año nuevo
@Ratonga : No, they should be inspected and tested every year. Heck, any bad electrical connection in your house can do this, anything plugged into a wall outlet. Test the lights before you get them on the tree. And...LED lights don't matter. It's still electricity, and electrical shorts in any wires can do the exact same thing.
At 0:19 it looks like the eye of sauron.
what are you talking about
This is why you should ALWAYS turn off any Christmas lights at night and NEVER overload your sockets
It's this video which is making me seriously consider living in a glass house.
POV: The dyslexic kid after writing to Satan instead of Santa:
Silent night indeed
Edit: I found this video elsewhere, and it is in fact a staged demonstration. I don't know why the description tries to make it sound like it's not a demo.
It's a very good demo and it makes it very clear how important it is to keep your tree watered, at least 3 feet away from other flammable objects, check your lights for damage, buy LED lights instead of traditional and turn off Christmas tree lights when not in the room with them.
However, it's perhaps a touch overly dramatic (that music is creepy as heck) and lacks important safety tips.
where'd u find it?
Here's the best Christmas tree fire safety tip: DON'T BUY A REAL TREE IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Your right but thank god i have a fake tree

A fake xmas tree is safer, but will still burn. It may give you 10 or 15 extra seconds.
0:33 You can see the radiant heat and hot gases ignite the side table on the right.
I'm surprised there is enough oxygen in the room to feed a fire that big for even a minute.
0:01- you can see a spark
0:09-0:10- as soon as they start singing it caches
0:18- completely caught alight

And the room is engulfed before anyone knows, the house is engulfed by the time the fire department gets there, and now youre out of luck.
It is hard to comprehend just what happens when room temp in a closed space hits 500 degrees or so. In a New-York second everything organic starts to gas-off and that alone is combustible! Everything explodes in flames. You have no chance. This is a killer in a theatre, a barn, an auditorium, if a huge amount of combustibles light-off in seconds like that tree. You ever burn an old Christmas tree? In my opinion, almost nothing will torch a house quicker! In 2002 on Christmas eve, the next-door neighbor's tree went up, and he said he and his were lucky to just burst out of the upstairs window without even looking down when that fire roared up the stairs. 30 seconds after their alarm woke them up. The hydrants were frozen. One hour later that home was a cement hole in the ground!
I have the NFPA text that shows this in a sequence of still images. It has flashover at 26 seconds but here the video starts earlier so flashover is around 34-35 seconds. Anyone in the room at that point who's not wearing protective gear and breathing through an SCBA is dead.
Thats frightenly fast!
The bunny: Look at what has become of my creatio-
