  • I have $60,000 sitting in a savings account that is not paying me a meaningful interest rate. What can I do with this cash to have it earn more money?

To the P.E. teacher: check in each year to see if a Roth option has been added for your 457 account. It could change at any time. And, maybe let your HR department know that you'd like to have one- if enough people ask, maybe they'll move to offer it.

Great suggestion! A few years back my district finally added a Roth option to our 403b. It was a win win situation that gave me the opportunity to max out contributions in a Roth and invest in Vanguard mutual funds w/low expense ratios!!

There's always cash on the sidelines. Two sides to every trade.
