've been listening to Bill and VOL for almost 30 years, this is the most under rated artist of all time in my opinion, what someone like Bob Dylan would have aspired to be but can't touch, Bill is an amazing lyricist and musician, and I wish more people knew about him, and appreciated his art, but a true artist does it for the passion, appreciate you Bill, you have a big impact on me
I have been a fan of Bill since the 90's, I've heard this song many many times, It's funny how time (and a duet) changes the subtle nuances of the song , bringing new meaning to beloved words.
Straight from the top drawer. Always considered this one of his best songs (and he has many). A great talent who has delivered time and again. Come back to the UK soon Bill.
Agree with other posters. Amazing songwriter, musician and performer-his shows were always engaging emotionally, had high adrenaline and exhibited musical talent with a level of showmanship reserved for the top echelons of the musical greats.
DJ Bob Harris championed this timeless masterpiece back in the day on his Saturday show ,it became a staple of the playlist following much interest from the UK listeners ,originally only available on a compilation Audible Sigh eventually landed and has now been re released .
Wow - how could we have let him go so unnoticed. It's a beautiful and tragic waste... No. Not a waste. Not for me because I've heard him. But a big shame others did not.

Bill is an American treasure. Hopefully someday he will get the recognition due him
I come back to this video often. Bill's music just takes me places.
Wow, this is beautiful. I’ve enjoyed this song over 20 years and am just now seeing this version!

Transcendent ❤️✌️
Special guest appearance at 4:05
I'd take Bills music over Springsteens any day!!
This song seems appropriate considering what is currently on the horizon

Cool it with the pantomime, Dr. Armond!
Thanks to Bob Harris that chart success .
I know I'm drunk, but did I just see a dog on the stage?
Pat Norberg the “stage” is just someone’s basement.
