Pile 1: I’ve struggled with maladaptive daydreaming from a young age as a trauma response and up until yesterday I had no intention of stopping because it was also so comforting, but after some thinking I realized that I struggle with things like depression and anxiety because I value the life I live in my head more than my own, and neglect myself more often than not. I don’t have any hobbies other than daydreaming, and now I have to find ways to fill those moment of silence with new hobbies that will add to this life. Pile 2: talking about resting, really resting ❤ I did a 'dark retreat' about a month ago and it was really amazing. I love using my phone watching videos etc and didn't/don't feel like I have a meditation/'daily practice' with stuff like that but I didn't need it. It was so peaceful and freeing and comforting just BEING in the dark and not having anywhere to be, anything to do, thinking there's anything I 'should' be doing, etc. I plan on going back in the future and integrating more of that, whatever comes up, whatever I learn into my life. I recommend dark retreat for anyone. I discovered them from a girl on yt called skylife. The first time I watched this, i resonated with 1 & 3, but now I’m resonating with 2. 1 & 3: I was finishing up my last semester of college these past few weeks and I was feeling worried because I knew I needed to be bolder and overcome my social anxiety. I haven’t made any friends in college and I don’t have a mentor to guide me, so now that I’m done I feel so lost on what to do next. 2: I’ve had a hard few months. I lost my cat, a few car accidents, lost my part time job, almost took on a sketchy internship out of desperation for a path, took on a winter class and finished my last by taking 7 classes. I’m so exhausted. Now that college is done, all my anxiety wants to do is worry about jobs instead of letting myself finally heal and catch a breath after all these hardships. Hearing that I need to rest and build trust in myself and the decisions I make finally made me break down. Self discipline is hard but it’s so necessary. The first time I watched this, i resonated with 1 & 3, but now I’m resonating with 2.
1 & 3: I was finishing up my last semester of college these past few weeks and I was feeling worried because I knew I needed to be bolder and overcome my social anxiety. I haven’t made any friends in college and I don’t have a mentor to guide me, so now that I’m done I feel so lost on what to do next.
2: I’ve had a hard few months. I lost my cat, a few car accidents, lost my part time job, almost took on a sketchy internship out of desperation for a path, took on a winter class and finished my last by taking 7 classes.
I’m so exhausted.
Now that college is done, all my anxiety wants to do is worry about jobs instead of letting myself finally heal and catch a breath after all these hardships. I worry I’m not trying hard enough for a job but my brain is so tired. I cant sleep and I’m so restless that meditation didn’t work.
Hearing that I need to rest and build trust in myself and the decisions I make finally made me break down. Self discipline is hard but it’s so necessary. No matter how busy I am, I need to make time to find ways to pour into myself.
