Hey Jeff, this is your accountant. I just noticed you converted all of your life savings into stocks concerning "Kiwi Fruit" business and franchises. Just let me know if this was a mistake of not. pepega
It's been a while since I've made a video essay like this! Please let me know if you like this style from me -- I'm thinking about doing a similar video essay on protein sometime soon. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!
I've missed these! More fun and light content is always good. I think you should give a bump to organ meats in your protein video though ;) still way under consumed, and more nutritionally dense than any other food.
Haskap (aka honey berries) have about twice the phenolic compounds as blueberries. And compare favorably on vitamins. Wins on: protein, A, C, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, iron, ..... stopped there. Only problem is I’ve never seen them in a store. Very cold hardy bushes tho. I’m growing my own.
Always the best content you can find on internet. Applied science to training and nutrition. Thank you so much for your unique work and to make it available to everyone for free. Greetings from Rome, Italy 💪🏻
I love this channel I've been unhealthy my entire life, my parents didn't really teach me anything about nutrition or health and now I'm able to be healthy and help my family out as well.
I like the clarification at the start. Just informs people on how to loose weight, get healthier and cure sickness in the first minute! That’s Jeff for you!
My list per day at the minimum 6 eggs 3 tablespoons coconut oil, olive oil, and butter, 4 raw cloves of garlic (smashed and allowed to sit for 10 minutes to increase nutrient concentration), At least 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, 1 serving of Greek or plain yogurt, 1 bag of spinach (usually steamed (to lower the anti-nutrients) and/or blended into a smoothie it has an nutrient that boost performance, 1 beet (powder and/vegetable) for the nitrates, As many sunflower seeds as I can eat, 1 cup of oatmeal blended Several bananas 1 kiwi (I know I should probably eat less banana and more kiwi) 1 dollar store salmon Beef sticks
You should definitly check out the Pereskia aculeate leaves, or as is know in Brazil, ora pro nobis ("pray for us") or carne de pobre (poorman meat). It is a buch like cactacea that occurs from Florida (EUA) to southern Brazil and have 28 g of protein per 100 grams of dry leave mass (and a ton minerals)!
Looks like that antioxidants list is something normal that is eaten in Croatia. Aroina is so popular with farmers that it is not even that expensive. Looks like I am doing some yard work in Spring
I love that your'e approach are subjectiv to most things on your channel. You dont use studies and result for your own worldview but instead ssy it can, may etc.
Hey Jeff! I read that there is a big difference in the Amerikan Blueberry and the European Blueberry, because of the color of the flesh, the American is more white in the flesh and the European is more red, and apparently the antioxidants are in the red color. Look it up would love to hear your answer.
You are totally an amazing encyclopedia of Health and nutrition, with a wonderful skill on communication. Thank you very much for sharing your passion and devotion in life through these very well documented videos!
Steel cut oats, flax meal, brocoli, pistachios, air popped popcorn, boiled eggs, apple, nut butter, and yes, Kiwi, garlic cloves, spinach, mussels and scallops. steaks, fish, or chicken for dinner. Count Macros. That is my diet.
Hey Jeff, have you read The Calorie Myth? It is a research packed book that challenges the idea that the key to weight loss is a caloric deficit. Since you’re all about the science, I’d be interested in your review of it.
Cool page, man. I was looking up why my body seemed to be asking for kiwi, all of a sudden, and what the benefits are. Thanks for your vids. Very light hearted and informative. Continue Courageously
I definetely agree with all these foods and already have them in my diet! Kiwi's btw apart from all these benefits are super delicious! I'd like to add Walnuts/almonds, chia seeds and sardines on that list
Not a food but a drink: yerba mate. Contains cafeine and other similar stimulants. Has basically every benefit from both coffee and tea, without any of the side effects. I will have to say that it is an acquired taste.
a video on how to choose the omeg3 pills would be nice. It has been said that a "transparent pill" is a sign of bzd quality because the light oxidate the fish oil... so instead of reducing the oxidation, it increases....
Liver! I've tried calves liver (which I didn't enjoy the texture of) but chicken liver pate is pretty good if made at home. Another I've heard is consuming it raw and whole (like a capsule/tablet) if the quality is known to be high.
I'm Romanian so by definition we're obsessed with garlic. Sorry but it's better than kiwi 😅 Transylvania’s winding, misty roads, castles and medieval fortresses set the stage for some of Europe’s darkest legends, the most famous of which is Count Dracula. Through practices passed down through generations, garlic is thought to protect people and homes from evil spirits, as well as curing sickness such as colds and coughs. The strigoi are believed to suck the milk from mothers and cows (the inspiration for Stoker’s blood-sucking vampires), which is why Romanian peasants have long protected their livestock by smearing their horns with garlic. But beyond folklore, garlic is a must on every Romanian’s plate. www.bbc.com/travel/story/20171026-why-romanians-are-obsessed-with-garlic
Four foods: broccoli, carrots, lentils, sunflower seeds; three supplements: calcium, vitamin d (these two often go together), and b12. This provides all the nutrients we need.
Hmmm, apparently i've been having half of these 'super foods' for 2+ years now. Garlic is a staple in my meals. On or mixed with eggs, rice, potatoes, salad . Blueberries with Oatmeal all the time. And with plain greek yogurt. Frozen or fresh. Whatever i can grab at the time. Kiwis, love em. Will get if they're in season/available. Leafy greens, this is DAILY. (spinach, mixed green/butter lettuce, water cress, dandelion greens, etc. ) As for the muscles - I love all sea food. Not one gets more attention than the other. If it's in a mixed type of meal ; awesome . But not something I remember to go out of my way for :)
Have you done research into frozen grass fed beef bone broth? (Or fresh, but not the boxed stuff) I’ve read a lot about the iron and collagen benefits, curious if you have reviewed.
@@Will-nf8hg not my point. Research supports that supplemented vit C can have negative impact on Mps. Was just curious to see his opinion on the obsession of supp companies of adding vit C everywhere.
Easily the best superfood is generally high quality organ meats >.< like grass fed beef liver or cod liver (not the oil the whole liver) although scallops are good for sure. I eat a lot of salad but if your sensitive to oxilates or have had kidney stones before avoid spinach.
I love kiwis and they've helped me lower my cholesterol, but they are sooo expensive! Especially Zespri. I love Zespri but if I can get an alternative I'll have to go for that. I'm in Greece by the way and thankfully kiwi is also grown here.
Could have sworn you talked about Kiwis a few years back and how you try and eat one everyday and it gets harder in the winter when they are out of season.
Beans have more antioxidants than blue berries. Black beans have the most IIRC, but pinto beans still have way more than berries. They really are the magical fruit, the downside is that the more you eat, the more you toot.
Shout-out from Russia, nice video as always. Blueberries are too expensive for us, but blackcurrant sure is a nice thing here. Sadly, there isn't much fresh berries in regular stores and they always cost you too much.
Curing sickness is not via medical science. That only compounds problems. It’s removing the chemical, emotional and physical stress from your life. Also sleeping well, being properly hydrated, proper diet and exercise. 👍🏻
Great edit! From the colors to the flow of the video, everything was very good! I eat spinach because of its high concentration of easy to throw them in my omelets or just cook them with some olive oil (a whole cup of spinach can be eaten in about one or two table spoons this way). I wish I could do garlic or berries, but my IBS won’t let me :(
Hello Jeff, Don't you think that the peel of the kiwi contains a lot of pesticides? It is recommanded to always cut the peel of the apple for example to reduce significantly the amount of pesticides you eat, so I wondered if it wasn't the same for kiwis!
I got available only normal kiwi, gold kiwi, and eco normal. I guess eating with a peel is recommended only with eco stuff right? Or I'm good to go with the the tasty gold one?
Jeff is out here singlehandedly manupulating the global fruit market
He better watch out then. The Russians won't be happy he's toppling the blackcurrent market.
Loooool
