I was able to get to my local pro shop and try out multiple bows recently. Between the Mathews Phase 4, Hoyt vtm 34, and the Bowtech SS 34. The bowtech was my favorite.
Picked up my Bowtech SS34 from Spokane Valley Archery today. Absolutely love it. Huge shout out to Justin. He did an outstanding job building and tuning my rig. The SS34 is the third bow I’ve bought from the SVA crew. Great customer service keeps me coming back.
Another great review video. You're making it much easier to narrow down the next bow purchase. The carbon knight I have is starting to show its age with all these new bows on the market. Keep up the great work. Will definitely be ordering from your website.
Great looking bow. Just went to a local dealer and shot it on Comfort and Performance. Phenomenal. Thank you for your unbiased and knowledgeable reviews. I have learned a lot since I have been following you.
Great review. I picked one up today. The Tech and I got on the topic of your channel and how much we enjoy your no-nonsense reviews. They were out of stock on some things I wanted, so I'll be shopping your online store.
Just picked up my SS34, here in SW scony! My local shop was running a sale. Got this new at 30% off! Love the review. Its what put this on my radar when i began my search. Cant wait to send some down range.
I was trying to get a bow last year and I think I might be glad I had to wait. This 34 looks awesome. Have to wait for the Mathews to announce so I can decide and save!
I don’t think they are changing the published numbers I think there bows are just faster. Last year the numbers were similar for IBO but the speed they’re getting this year are all faster then last years bows except the sr350.
Love this bow haven’t had a bow tech in a while I own a Mathew’s halon now and would love to have this ss 34 it looks good and more my style being longer
@ Podium Archer As a left-handed archer I ordered this bow precisely because it is fully adjustable by the archer and because there is no left-handed bow in the shops anywhere! During the corona period I bought a second-hand Hoyt bow and fitted it with a new tendon and adjusted it myself, this was a learning experience through the videos of Renowned coach John Dudley! I will be very happy that you make these videos for this bow! I deliberately did not choose Hoyt or Mathews because they almost force me to buy new rizers, sights that are only suitable for their new bows! Also, because of this strategy, I think that the aftermarket will go bankrupt and stop innovating!
Bowtech has stolen my business since the revolt x! Keep up the good work! That being said I didn't care for the carbon one when I shot it lol. Thanks mfjj for all the hard work
I know you already do a lot with these reviews and I thank you for that, but I think it would be fun to see the speed difference in comfort vs performance options with a heavier arrow. Like 450-500 grains.
I went to my local pro shop and shot this alongside the outgoing CP28; I was hoping to try a Solution SS, but it seems I missed the boat on those. As someone with a short draw, I don't feel like I really benefit from a 34" ATA but I love how smoothly and easily this thing draws.
What a great lineup from bowtech! I feel like a kid in a candy store and I can't decide which bow I want more. If I could Frankenstein these bows I'd make a SS34 carbon riser with the cable timing setup from the Reckoning Gen2. The perfect early and late season hunting bow in my opinion.
My cousin who has a PRIME Cenergy right now is thinking of a Mathew’s (because that’s his name and they’re great bows) the Inline 31 from Prime, but also mentioned this bow since Bowtech can do 80 lb limbs and they’re pretty smooth. 🏹
I will Gladly trade you my 2009 Bowtech Captain for that one!! Loving all the new 34" ATA bows coming out! Still shooting my 2017 Elite Tempo 34...honestly I can't shoot better than it does so I can't really justify getting something different..yet!:)
Ive got the original Solution SS. Shoots fantastic. Im a whitetail hunter shooting out of tree stands out to 40 yards. The obvious difference is the 30-34” ATA change. Speeds are the same. Is this an “upgrade” to what I’m currently shooting?
This one has me interest…speed sells or rather “advertised speed sells” but most fall flat below ibo anyway. I’ll buy any bow that meets or exceeds ibo before an inflated one. This might be the first bowtech I would regularly shoot on performance.
I am about to get a new bow and looking at videos. I was hoping to hear the reflex length also. "What makes a bow accurate". Guess we will see that in a different review. Sure MFJJ is a very busy guy.
MFJJ another great, concise review. But, in your recent reviews I keep coming up with a single question. As tall as your ‘hawk is…has it ever got caught in the HVAC vent above your head?
New subscriber. I like the way you present objective and subjective information equally. It's not just all your opinion or brand hating. I'm considering upgrading from a 2011 hoyt rampage xt. This ss34 really intrigues me. I'm guessing I'll pick up about 10-12fps, and I have to think this bow will be quieter. Do you have any thoughts on that upgrade for an all purpose hunting bow?
In performance this is a few fps faster than the v3x 33. Specs are a more forgiving bow as well, comparing side by side. Mathews has the best accessories hands down, but this bow rivals the v3x 33 IMO. Bow tech stepped up this year. I’m really impressed. I’d like to shoot this in performance to compare. Not ever getting rid of my v3x33 but this bow has me curious.
Looks like a great bow. Can we just skip ahead to next year and get the SR34? I'd love to see that riser with about 10 fps faster. I love my SR6 but wish it was a little longer ATA.
I guess to me, a 34 inch axle to axle isn't that long unless you compare them to the compact bows made today. LOL! I am curious though if the Carbon 1 is more dead in hand while shooting?
How would you compare the drawto the revolt xl? I'm a 31" draw, wondering if the "hump" would be less pronounce in the xl not being so close to maxed out. Speed similar? (I know the xl was overestimated)
I have a question about this bow. I shot one the other day and I love it. I want to buy it. But it looks like it’s followed suit with other bow techs in the past and has plastic or “composite” limb pockets. Is this true? If so should this deter one from making the purchase? This is never talked about in review videos.
Wish I would've shot that one! Shot the SR350 and the Elite Omnia and walked away with the Omnia. Super smooth shooter, but that draw cycle looked sweet on that SS34. Great video as always, thanks JJ!

Thank you for for all of the measurements on this bow!!!
Awesome looking bow!! Thank you for all you are doing for the archery community!
Out of all of the bowtech bows this is the one I would pick
Ditto.
I shot all the new 23s and sadly I ordered an sr350. I just didn't care for the new bowtechs and I love bowtech bows
Appreciate the consistent comparisons of all the bows. Keep up the good work.
Looks like a great upgrade from my Mighty Mite! Thanks for sharing!
Good review and a nice bow !! Thank you ! There are some nice bows coming out this year !
Nice! Thanks for getting the videos out quickly. Looks like a great bow.
Another great review video. You're making it much easier to narrow down the next bow purchase. The carbon knight I have is starting to show its age with all these new bows on the market. Keep up the great work. Will definitely be ordering from your website.
This bow looks sweet! I like everything about it!
Love your videos. Always get honest opinions and useful information and feedback. Love my Bowtech Experience and this SS34 appeals to me
Sure makes it easier to shop for a bow with these videos, Thema for the hinged help
Great looking bow. Just went to a local dealer and shot it on Comfort and Performance. Phenomenal. Thank you for your unbiased and knowledgeable reviews. I have learned a lot since I have been following you.
Nice looking bow. Looking to upgrade next year glad i found this dude
Great review. I picked one up today. The Tech and I got on the topic of your channel and how much we enjoy your no-nonsense reviews. They were out of stock on some things I wanted, so I'll be shopping your online store.
I really like what you're doing MFJJ. Thanks for the content! Keep it coming brother!
On my shopping list. Going to be waiting a while here in Australia . great revues by the way.
Just picked up my SS34, here in SW scony! My local shop was running a sale. Got this new at 30% off! Love the review. Its what put this on my radar when i began my search. Cant wait to send some down range.
Love the longer bow length!
Another great review! Thanks!
I like that longer Axle to axle and the way you describe the pull cycle. That would be a great fit of Western WA hunting.
Thanks for the preview. Certainly looks like a winner.
Steve Richardson
Never owned a Bowtech but this new line up is looking very tempting!
You definitely seem happier with the bowtechs this year so that's always great.
MFJJ, best beard in the business. Love your work and knowledge.
picked up a Bowtech ss34 it's a very good bow. Very smooth draw holds well, and dead in the hand. I love it, I wish I would have tried Bowtech sooner
Like everything about it ! Looking forward to shooting !
Looks like a sweet bow. As I get older, draw cycles are important. Looks smooth
Oh boy, add this to the mix of choices
I was trying to get a bow last year and I think I might be glad I had to wait. This 34 looks awesome. Have to wait for the Mathews to announce so I can decide and save!
Love the longer ata!!
YES! What a wicked bow definitely the bow I would go with when it comes to a bow tech. P.S. the Mohawk is sick
Solid lineup from bowtech this year. they are publishing more realistic numbers. Thanks for the great reviews
I don’t think they are changing the published numbers I think there bows are just faster. Last year the numbers were similar for IBO but the speed they’re getting this year are all faster then last years bows except the sr350.
May be looking at a bow tech this year. These look sweet
Love this bow haven’t had a bow tech in a while I own a Mathew’s halon now and would love to have this ss 34 it looks good and more my style being longer
Nice bow. If I didn’t already have a v3x 33 I’d be shooting this in the shop to see if I wanted it.
You keep forgetting riser and reflex measurements. Love the content.
@ Podium Archer As a left-handed archer I ordered this bow precisely because it is fully adjustable by the archer and because there is no left-handed bow in the shops anywhere!

Bowtech makes some awesome bows. Hopefully I’ll have a chance to shoot their new ones they came out with.
My step dad used a bowtech way back in 2006. I've wanted one since, but i don't like pulling 70# so have held off. Sweet looking bow though!
Loved the draw cycle of the revolt x. Looks like a re worked and improved bow that fits the style of bow the revolt x was.
Bowtech has stolen my business since the revolt x! Keep up the good work! That being said I didn't care for the carbon one when I shot it lol. Thanks mfjj for all the hard work

man...that one looks like a real winner

great View awesome guys
Gattaceca have this bow!!!!
Love the fact that BT is looking to please!
That looks like a great shooting bow its been a couple years but I might br shooting a bowtech this year
My cousin who has a PRIME Cenergy right now is thinking of a Mathew’s (because that’s his name and they’re great bows) the Inline 31 from Prime, but also mentioned this bow since Bowtech can do 80 lb limbs and they’re pretty smooth. 🏹
Another great review
Bowtech has got my attention this year
Being a 34" I might give it a go to be honest, love the colour too btw.
Got to fondle one last night at our local shop. Not a Bowtech guy but looks like a solid offering. Definitely going to shoot it and see if I like.
Nice content go Bowtech
I will Gladly trade you my 2009 Bowtech Captain for that one!! Loving all the new 34" ATA bows coming out! Still shooting my 2017 Elite Tempo 34...honestly I can't shoot better than it does so I can't really justify getting something different..yet!:)

That 34 and the older 35 reckoning have my vote. Cam tuning is the right bower.
Looks like a very sweet looking bow extremely fast for a 10-year-old bow. Should make a bow hunter very very happy
Looks like I could be in trouble this year haha, you planning on doing a review on the sx80 cheers
That’s all I’ve heard about so far is the bowtech. They must have done something lol. That bow in white would look nice.
nice looking bow
This bow would be a great hybrid from hunting into target. Or for the bowhunter class
Was hoping to hear reflex and riser length?
If possible. Great job on all the reviews, very helpful and really appreciate your time and efforts!
Agreed. Could we get a reflex and riser length? "What Makes Bow Accurate? video"
I am about to get a new bow and looking at videos. I was hoping to hear the reflex length also. "What makes a bow accurate". Guess we will see that in a different review. Sure MFJJ is a very busy guy.
Good honest review
wicked lineup by btech!!!
Like it a lot
MFJJ another great, concise review. But, in your recent reviews I keep coming up with a single question. As tall as your ‘hawk is…has it ever got caught in the HVAC vent above your head?
I like everything about this.
How was the back wall?
The grey color is pretty sweet

Mathews has mad the same bow for 5 years lmao
I picked up the ss34 all around great bow
But the finish on has a tonnnn of blemishes
Seems like a nice bow
I’d love to get that bow. I prefer a longer ATA bow at 6’4 it’s just easier to hold a longer bow.
Well it's nice they are getting more honest in their advertising.
Sweet looking bow. Appreciate how MFJJ doesn't carry on ad nauseum about the "buttery smooth draw." Probsbly the most over-used term in the industry.
Nice hair big guy!!!
It’s not quite 10”
Shooting a Levitate now but the SS34 really had my attention for 23... I'm kinda between it and a VTM 34 at the moment.
Can’t wait to see what prime did this year
Tough choice with the RG236 having the cam timing device.
Cool bow
I’m excited about bowtech new bows
Rest In Peace to the days of the Whisker Biscuit .
Looks like a great bow. Can we just skip ahead to next year and get the SR34? I'd love to see that riser with about 10 fps faster. I love my SR6 but wish it was a little longer ATA.
Sweet looking bow I think I'd compare it to the v3x 33
I was looking at the specs for the sx80 and the ibo seems fairly slow for an 80 pound draw
I'm still researching trying to decide between the cp30,ss34 and the sr350
Would love to see a video on the sx80 as well
I guess to me, a 34 inch axle to axle isn't that long unless you compare them to the compact bows made today. LOL! I am curious though if the Carbon 1 is more dead in hand while shooting?
I own a Bowtech Prodigy and I cant say enough good things about it. Is going to be a big decision between SS34 and matthews phase 4.
Wow!
Looks pretty good. Does it have plastic limb pockets this year?
Hoping for a 32, I hunt Central NY and the longest shot I take is 30-40yds here.
Which one would you pick the SS34 or the v3x 33, or the revolt XL?
How would you compare the drawto the revolt xl? I'm a 31" draw, wondering if the "hump" would be less pronounce in the xl not being so close to maxed out. Speed similar? (I know the xl was overestimated)

Wish I would've shot that one! Shot the SR350 and the Elite Omnia and walked away with the Omnia. Super smooth shooter, but that draw cycle looked sweet on that SS34. Great video as always, thanks JJ!
