Early singers of this famous hymn probably sang like their lives depended on the faithfulness of God. Today's sleepy church too often sings songs like this like one would pick out a pithy greeting card...familiar and unoffensive, sycophantic...and certainly doesn't challenge us to change or be transformed. What strikes me is the Jesus-ministry demonstrated by this singer...instructive and offensive to the religious mind...how might we reflect back to Jesus the downpour of His faithfulness received. Thank You God for the singers of our day, who teach us what it means to be broken and poured out before our great Love.

God created the emotions in us because they do walk hand in hand with the fruits of his Spirit that are in us. It is okay to feel love and express it through tears on the alter. An emotion guided by the Spirit of God is beautiful to God… allow man express how they feel towards their father ….yours might not be tears but allow the “ear” to be the “ear” and the “eye” to be the “eye….SHALOM🙏🏾😊
