Nice drop! It is funny that a lot of people will say that there were trap shy pigs there, but they move in and out of the trap freely. It is simply other pigs they are shy about. Boars run other hogs off the bait all the time or you will have some keep their distance due to the Boar. Great footage! Keep them coming.
@@Rich.as.in.spirit Do you think they know somehow that their lives are in danger the moment that metal falls? Certainly they freak out, and they know something has gone wrong; but do they think their lives are in peril?
How much pasture, crops and or calves would a 100 pound hog eat/damage in a year. Then that multiplies when they breed. If you said $1 a pound in damage prevention per year, this was $800 save for the farmer. At a guess. I enjoy these trapping vidz.
you know if i had land down there i would get a pile of cement rr ties/sleepers from the local Railroad and trenche cement them inground on end 3 feet all the way round the place and make a pig escape proof pen of 10-20 ac with multil drop gates and feeders and create a herding pen to collect them up in for takeaway or on the spot butchery in a mobile van and a commercial smoking house on wheels just smoke them whole and wrap them and cold store them for sale, and with a little work can start preforming old fashioned bush drives it helps if people took said rr sleepers and t stakes and section the brush off in very old fashioned split rail fence style alternating 4 and 5 high as guide fences for beaters
@DAILY OBSERVER they actually do learn over time just as we do and use caution more as they get older, unfortunately hunger and desperation will make them subjectable to bad situations. However alot of times it may not particularly be they area or the conditions or the trap, if a male boar hog is present he will run other hogs off bc he is the Alfa!!! And a mother sow will roam around and protect her young as us humans will... They definitely are not dumb. And far as the trap goes a hog doent look up very often bc the muscles in their necks are made to look down and root the dirt for food so the trap doesnt touch them till its dropped and the legs it stands on acts as if its just a post to them so they dont pay it any attention bc the bait and hunger overtakes their caution of any thing, and they can see all the way through the trap so therfore they are none of the wiser... Hope this helps you some. Thanks for watching
@DAILY OBSERVER a sow or a boar will if they feel threatened or cornered up, in general they are more scared of u, but if a sow has pigs around she may charge u bc she sees u as a threat to her young
They will consume a human flesh and bone only thing a hog won't digest are the teeth of a human, but we are not around when we drop the trap, its done by video and remotely off a cellphone, i have a video uploaded also of a sow climbing over a panel n almost attacking me and a friend of mine!! She had a young pig in the pen with her
@DAILY OBSERVER yea it would not be a good day for sure we do get bit regularly while trying to load them and catch them to be moved to the holding pen
The cage drops at 1:49
You're welcome.
Too bad there is no sound, I like to hear them scream

W-W Livestock Systems thanks i have our other drop videos posted also, our 1st catch we caught 27 at once
one of the best catches ever
Yeah I love these particular traps. Very efficient
Nice video!👍 One needs the patience of a sniper to get the perfect drop 😀
I wonder why the trap is engineered to fall down on tracks that are at a 45 degree angle and not straight down?
Bc if its straight down the hogs will get their nose under the trap and lift it and escape easily they are very strong..
@@heathparks157 That makes sense. Thanks!
@@heathparks157 especially when fighting for their lives that strength becomes massive

Even with my sorry old eyesight, it looks like you got em all...nice.
How much does it cost to have an adult boar butchered?
Just wondering if they ever try to dig under the trap.
Yes they try to sometime but are usually not make it before we get there to get them out

Thanks we have caught well over 300 with the trap off of one 400acre tract of land in the past yr..
Cool
These are my favorite videos, you got a lot
You woild think at least one would try to dig his way out
They do root around the edges but they aren't in the trap very long before we get them out
Yeah they could do that if they didn’t panic for the remaining moments of their lives . It would take a good hour or 2 if their in that long
Why don't you electrify the fencing? Solve the problem of ammunition shortages.
Cruelty to animals
Guys I think we got into a pickle.
Food food!! Glorious food
..we are anxious to try it..
Boar buster? That was my name in college
Great job.
