Here's a tip that may be helpful. Write down or take a photo of your odometer reading when dropping the car off with the valet, then do the same upon receiving your vehicle.

Friend, here is my advice: 1. Remove all documents that have your name, address and vehicle information, e.g. Registration, Insurance Card and carry with you. 2. Video walk around the car before parking. 3. Video odometer at valet stand, passengers can be a help here to do the videos. 4. If you don't have money to tip, tell them that you need to get money when leaving as you only carry credit cards. Tip them on exit after a walk around first. 5. Used vehicle's Valet key. Don't have one?...Remove all keys but the ignition key. Do this before going to any parking lot, repair shop, etc. 6. Snap a photo of trip milage, gas gage and odometer. Photo interior too. Lay a human hair over spots that are tempting...you'll be able to see if someone popped the glove box and console.
I would call him a taxi and give the keys to the restaurant or security personal. If I give him his car after he has been drinking, I can be held liable.
Don't forget that the catalytic converter can be stolen from your car too. I take a snap of the milage and it better be no more than a mile when I get it back.

Just get a custom tuned installed with valet mode and when ever you have to valet the car put it in valet mode and your set... Tuner can set max amount rpm, max speed etc...

Great thing bmw has a valet option in the car and you don’t need to hand over the main car key. All settings are locked so valet can’t view your location history or personal details. They’re Only allowed park it close by.
So easy to fit gear or gas pedal limiters - and give them keys which activate the limiters. I have a SUV with these fitted and no problems. In the wheel well I have a recorder that records a camera hidden in my rooftop light bar and visible front and rear facing cameras. . Since I have to record business and personal mileage, I always remember the last three milometer digits.
I refuse valet parking everytime it's available. I don't trust strangers to drive my car. I don't even go to car wash places because... 1. most of them don't even have their license And 2. they don't know how to drive.

The car was seen all over but no one could ever catch til this year (a year and a half later🤦). Had high miles, old rims and hood was painted because it was very distinctive.

Not the same at all I'd rather my mechanic use my car for the day under the pretense of test driving it then a valet.

That is bullshit I shouldn’t have to leave a tip within the car to make sure they treat my car in the proper care that they’re paid to do this is unacceptable and valets need to be held legally accountable for going on joyride or damaging peoples car it should be illegal to damage someone’s car not inform the owner of the car told him and the fact that the valet management would encourage their employees not to review information like this is disturbing

At the company I work for every car is listed by who parks the vehicle and who pulls the vehicle back up also we pull through a "camera tunnel" entering and exiting that documents any and all damage going and comming from the garage. However almost nowhere does this lol
