Before folding up and finding the washout, Pull the 45 elbow off the end of the 6-5 reducer. Shove a ball in the deck and put your blowout cap on. Blow the whole boom at once right into whatever you were pouring. If you don’t get any movement, break the elbows between 2-3 and blow both ways. At least then you narrow down where the plug is if there is one. Always idle the truck up all the way so it builds air as fast as possible. That’s a shit day! I feel for ya.

Thanks for sharing. Everyone has days like this. But you handled it like a professional. Anything man made will break. Just have to be prepared for when it's going to happen. Been on huge EPA clean up for week and a half. Been tough because someone else started it and made a mess out of it. Ended up repairing tank and pouring over 15,000 yards of concrete in ring around tank 8 inches thick and huge pond 6 inches think and ditches 6 inches think. Dump site 25 miles away. So just now doing extra work replacing asphalt and extra building slab and walls then done. So been working around the clock to beat the hurricane season. But great video

Have you thought of keeping an electric pressure washer on the truck? We use a 3000W inverter, 40a dc/dc converter, and it's own battery (to not fry the alternator). Nothing like getting hot mud off quick and avoid the acid. It does wonders on the hopper and uses a fraction of the water vs. a hose.

  • @lioneljosecastillo

Hey buddy, this inspired me to special order a 6 - 5 reducer hose with HD ends and the exact length required. (we've got two identical 34 meter Schwing pumps. This baby is just a back up. Always on stand by waiting for one of those tapered pipes to screw up lol. ( I chose to go with a back up hose and not a pipe for flexibility, just to get the sponge pulled back quickly.

Sir I just watched your video and I wanted to let you know that there is an easier way to clean your pipes when this happens take your hammer and Hammer the whole back into place as best you can and then take a grocery sack trash bag put that over the rip in the pipe and duct tape the living shit out of it and then drop the reducer they're at the tip hose and put your ball in there and put the pump in Reverse DO NOT STROKE FORWARD or you will just blow a hole right where you duct tape it this is strictly to get your pipes cleaned so that you can wash out this is not to finish the job It will not take the ball back immediately but every stroke that you take in reverse is sucking the air out of that and I promise you it will take the ball back if that is airtight and just so that you know if you were going to use a blowout cap with air to clean your pump say for instance if that pipe was completely blown in half you were not able to get an airtight seal on it for some reason you don't need to go Section by section just nock off the 45° elbow right there at the deck pipe and put your ball in there and put your blowout cap on right there it will blow the entire boom clean instead of doing section by section The only time that I have seen that you cannot seal a pipe with i trash bag and duct tape to get cleaned out is if you blow a hole in your turret pipe because there is no way to get to that to tape it up and if that happens and believe me it will if you pump long enough you put one ball in your deck pipe and put that reverse to clean it back to the hopper and then put the other ball in your first elbow coming out of the torrid and put a blow out cap on it and blow it out with air that is the only time that I have had to use air to clean the pump or if the pump itself actually breaks down
I am by no means criticizing you you did a great job in getting your pump clean I just wanted to let you know that there's an easier and safer way to do it I hope this helps
