I think the cheaper shoes helped Aaron out. Because they were tighter and fit his feet better. And he could feel the board a little more. Maybe I don't know, just my opinion.
Yeah man I remember I had two pairs of shoes one pair was a sweide and it fit snug and the other we're like the 150 ones and I remember after skating the sweide I had to skate the leather and I felt like I was skating switch for a bit

Pit brands against each other; for example LAKAI vs ETNIES, VANS vs DC, BRAILLE VS CARIUMA etc etc. I think it would be a interesting series, like a tournament bracket style games of "S-K-A-T-E". BRAILLE members will pull a brand from a hat and thats the brand they wear and represent for the tournament.
Suede is actually a cut out area grain of leather same as nubuk Suede is a split from off of the grain side and would be fuzzy on both the top and bottom - So roughout leather is from the underside of the skin, whereas suede is made by splitting the skin down the middle.
Please skate the Nike Free Run 5.0 Next Nature's. That's my favorite shoe. I get multiple pairs at the clearance outlet for pretty cheap. It's the lightest thinnest shoe I am aware of. I have always wanted to skate in them, but I don't think they would last even a few tricks. They hold up in the washing machine though.

Check out Rose Anvil for all your leather shoe knowledge needs. Top grain vs suede. Top grain is tightly interlocked and smooth, low grip. Suede side is rough and loose interlocked fibers that are more resistant to scratching/slicing and also grip better.
The sad thing is it probably isnt that big of a price difference to manufacture those shoes. My guess is like 4-6 dollars on the nikes and like 3 dollars on the other one's. I could be completely wrong though. I kinda like the look of the cheap shoes better but im not a white shoe kind of guy.

I always buy walmart shoes as I use them to cut grass. They don't hold up as well as other brands. Usually walmarts shoes have low grade grips and soles.

I can totally understand wearing cheap shoes if they are all you can afford as something is better than nothing, but if you can afford to buy quality shoes of any kind whether skate or even running then your better off with quality and for several reasons. Wearing cheap poorly made sneakers especially takes its toll on your feet, ankles, knees, hips and back. After a long period of time it can damage your arches and even cause shin splints alot easier. You don't have to break the bank and buy the best most expensive shoe currently on the market but at least don't buy the cheapest.

In the beginning, he said "its so quiet now." While turning back and forth. I think he put some form of lubricant between his bushings and trucks. The rubber and metal can make creaky noises when the rubber is squished by the metal and rubs together. You can use a bunch of different things on your trucks for this, I use bar soap shavings. This will also make your board turn more with less weight shifting. So he was probably not expecting to turn so much..... I'm a freestyler, aka skateboard physics nerd lol.😅

Shoes you can get away with in the beginning, jus have to be willing to ruin a few pairs... A cheap board won't roll, you won't learn tricks well, you will quit, skateboarding loses an awesome addition. Spent the extra $30 and buy the $50 complete we made with them
If your only option is that Walmart board and there's no convincing her otherwise, get the Walmart board and just replace the bearings, so it actually rolls. Bearings will be another $25 or so (for some decent Reds bearings) on top, so around $45 for a beginner deck isn't too bad if that's your only option.

They look like vanes/converse so yeah for that reason i think they definetly helped more than the expensive ones.
