The computerized voice and terrible captioning errors are a huge turnoff to watching this channel. As for the MiG pilot opening his chute too early, he knew what he was doing; without being able to see his approach or how much runway he had left, it appears he was overshooting his touchdown point and needed to slow. These old planes have engines that spool more slowly and he may not have had enough runway left for a normal landing and was too slow already for a missed approach. His landing was a good one.
In the first video, how do fighter pilots judge when to release the parachute? Can they only rely on experience?😢
