It's a pity that all those "old guys" from Piranha Bytes who made 1 - 3 series don't work there anymore, so it seems we won't get that same Gothic in the future. I enjoyed Risen 1 though; In some aspects it's even better than Gothic. But again, Risen was the last game made by those "old guys" like Hoge, Rosenkranz and others. Now we have Pankratz in charge and Risen 2, 3 and Elex are far from being good games. They aren't bad, but certainly not comparable to Gothic and Risen 1. I've just read that Pankratz wrote music to Elex... jeez, stop this man or the company will be renamed to "Pankratz Bytes" soon...

This is perfect. I'm at work and this is the best way I can drown out the noise in the office while also not get distracted by the music. Only downside is I often get caught in nostalgia so badly, I'm literally playing the game in my mind. Good times ^^

Extremely underrated soundtrack and game series as a whole. I've got fantastic memories with all three games and I still replay them every now and then, and they still got the same charm to me. As a person of both German and Polish(specifically Kashubian) Heritage I'm glad these games can link both countries together and have something they both appreciate.

The graphics are old, the controls feel clunky, but this game is one of the most immersive games I've ever played. Every song I hear right now gives me other feelings and memories. Give it a try! Get hooked! I replay the series every other year more or less :D

Gothic 2 piano and the clasic Myrtana songs, especially in some towns (Geldern), LOVE THIS. I've plyed this serie many times, just thanks to the music. If there will be a remake or continuing, I hope it will be same awesome, but PB doesn't own anymore for a long time, so there is really low chance.
If i ever get rich il make long sequels of Gothic game series like 1 and 2 was. Modern games cant reproduce the same feel of old mysterious times like Gothic did. Everything felted old and atmospheric from game to the controls hahah.

I get goosebumps listening to this...Gothic was part of my childhood like no other game. Still by far my favorite franchise. Hope the Remake they're doing will be decent, although my expectations are kinda low :/
god this reminds me of 4. some of the best story's and world building games, the terrain and people of mrytanna, the old sounds and dialogue like the orcs, and just how bad the Gothic 1 controls where compared to today. still love these games.

У меня тоже. Я раз 10 прошёл уже игры эти. Если не играли, советую мод "Архолос Хроники Миртаны". Очень качествено и в духе Готики сделан

Is it only me or "1:56:28 - A King's City" is someting you would hear as Minas Tirith theme/soundtrack?
I get goosebumps listening to this...Gothic was part of my childhood like no other game. Still by far my favorite franchise.
Hope the Remake they're doing will be decent, although my expectations are kinda low :/

god this reminds me of 4. some of the best story's and world building games, the terrain and people of mrytanna, the old sounds and dialogue like the orcs, and just how bad the Gothic 1 controls where compared to today. still love these games.
