    Been pretty much non-stop watching DCS videos for learning for the last few months, and accidentally stumbled on yours today. Can't believe you dont have more subs/view/visibility - these are easily the best ones out there! Thanks for all the efforts and I hope you keep them coming. Nailed my first CASE II with proper comms thanks to this, now for CASE III.

      That's great to hear Mitchell! Thank you. Congrats on the case II, you'll no doubt nail the case III in short order!

    Great tutorial! There is so much more to DCS than blowing up stuff quick an dirty. Really love to dive in that military way of flying, at least for a bit. Your videos are absolutely valuable pieces of advice. Thanks and looking forward to your future uploads. Cheers!

      Thanks Slav! Yeah there are many ways to play, I like to give the procedures as I can find them so then you can play it as legit as you like, or quick and dirty if you don't!

    Amazing video. You really made every part as easy to understand as possible (especially the initial barrage of radio coms which I had a hard time wrapping my head around at first). Thank you.
    EDIT: I watched this while in game as soon as ATC said I will be doing a CASE II approach. This was one hell of a crash course. XD

    Really good tutorial, haven't tried CASE II/III yet myself, but know what to expect now.
    Only criticism is talking while there's activity on comms, and some parts where it went a little fast. Earned a sub

    Sorry for nitpicking, but I think your holding pattern is not entirely correct. According to CNATRA, it should be a racetrack with 1-minute legs and 2-minute turns (versus 2-minute legs and 1-minute turns). Combined with a standard 20-degree bank (instead of 40), this will give us a perfect racetrack shape. Regardless of that, your guide is superb, and I've learned a lot from watching it.

    • @DCSWithLovo
      @DCSWithLovo  3 роки тому

      Don't worry about nitpicking, I like to learn. I've been looking for where I got 1 minute turns and 2 minute legs from, and I can't find it. Do you know where it says 2 minute turns 1 minute legs so I can see that?

      Thanks. "Commencing" when you first start your approach, "check in" after the AI tells you to. "Platform" when you pass 5000ft. Call the ball at ¾nm.
      The super carrier manual should cover that I think

    Good video! Thanks! and for Case III, which 'degree' we should use at the begining? Radial or Bearing, I saw you use the 'Radial'?

    • @DCSWithLovo
      @DCSWithLovo  3 роки тому

      The AI marshal seems to always Marshall you on the reciprocal of the final hearing/BRC. In this case I'll put the FH/BRC in as a course line for simplicity and fly out on it to the holding fix.
      A human Marshall may separate out players and hold you on a different radial, so in this case I'll input the given radial on a course line, hold on that and change it to FH/BRC after commencing

    Amazing Video!!! I ran into a problem while trying to go through a case II approach. Everything works fine until I select "platform" and descend to 1200 feet. Then I normally would select "see you at 10". But the option doesn't show up for some reason. Thereafter the coms don't work at all when I fly a break and land, because the controller still awaits my "see you at 10" callout. Is there a fix to that? When I fly Case I everything works fine and I can select the option from the coms. Thanks for any kind of help :)

      No worries! I really hope it gets fixed soon. Those I fly with and I have basically stopped using the carrier comm options completely due to this.
      I'm wondering if ED are pushing hard on the ai Comms overhaul they have planned and so are not fixing anything. Maybe they'll just surprise us with a comm upgrade

    How do i know the 40 degree bank thing. what does each bar represent? 15? 30?

    • @DCSWithLovo
      @DCSWithLovo  2 роки тому

      You should check the manual for that type of info
      On the hornet HUD there's two little dashes that are 5° and 10° leading to the first big dash that is 15°. Then the big ones continue in 15° degree increments.
      So 30° and 45°

    Hi Lovo, thank you for your video. I´ve got some kind of issue I´m not able to sort out. When I report Platform to the mother, I never get the comm "see you at 10 miles" in my menu. I can only abort inbound or ask for azimuth. There is never any "see you at 10 miles" and from then there is no way to land with correct communications. I don´t see what am I missing, cause I did everything like in your video. I´m on time, on correct course, DME, I report commencing, then I check in, call the Platform at 5 angels and then I get stuck with missing communication in my menu... Do you have any idea why this occur? Thx

      I wouldn't do a case 1 ACLS tutorial as it's not a realistic procedure. Plus you're only in the groove for about 45 seconds which is a short time to mess about with the ACLS buttons.
