You guys have the best stories! Great interview, have been looking forward to this for a while. Sincere gratitude for all you do from two of your biggest fans, Tim and Reid.
Thoroughly enjoyed - I started with a Scalextric (tinplate) Figure 8 on te floor of an apartment in Queens in 1958 - currently have a MRSlotcar Shadow on my bench for preparation.
Is there any hope for eurosport (es), flat track racing? Seems to me hardbody is thrieving, lots of vendors and competition and this type of racing used to be the on the adoption path to flat track racing i.e. home track -> commerical track -> builld your own car -> lexan bodies -> wind your own motor -> upgrade the controller -> commerical edm/laser-cut chassis specialiast motors/armatures. Do people graduate anymore from hardbody? Is es racing too expensive or too fast for the hardbody crowd? Are there too few tracks, too many classes - please tell ...
Ernie is one of the kindest, most polished guys in the Slot Car world. Great chat :)
