I bought myself a guitar about 3 months ago, only picked it up again there last week. I learned one other song, simple enough, only 3 chords, then someone put this song into my head. I'm genuinely surprised on how fast I'm picking it up. Thanks for the lesson, it's going great so far.
@@shanehewitt8956 Good man Shane keeper lit. If you can just keep interested an practice is the key, it's very easy to set the guitar down an not look at it again for days, weeks or even months.
The aim of the game is to try an just keep at it. You'll need lots of patience aswell. Good luck an do get in touch if you need any help, if I can il try my best to help. 🎸🎸🎸👍🏼☘👍🏼🎸🎸🎸

Class pal 👍
Thanks again pal 👍👍
Just curious, who’s version of this do you go by?! I’ve heard a few different artists sing it and this sounds so much like my fave version. the only difference is that they pick the chords more than strum. I’ve looked everywhere for the chords to that version but couldn’t find it until your video. beautifully done! Love that you say the chords as you switch from one to the other! Super helpful👌❤️
Hi Mary heres pretty much the same way. I only play the strum as it makes it easier for people. Though you could pluck a string here an there with a gentle strum if you preferred? Hope this helps you with the link below.
Thank you so much for your very kind words.
Best wishes
Blaine

There's only one version and that's the original: Richard Thompson

Thanks for the upload. 0:38 5:12
Thank you kindly for getting in touch an apologies for only getting back to you now.
🎸🎸🎸👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸
Cheers for the upload it helped a lot. But does any one else think the chorus should end on a G chord rather than C? I just seem to naturally go towards G
Hey Declan, thanks for getting in touch. There's many different ways to play this classic. You play what you feel you like, don't think you have to stick to what I've demonstrated. This is just one way of getting through the song.
Keeper lit... ☘☘🎸🎸👍👍
@@blainevaq cheers for the reply. the way you do it is the same as Christy Moore and whistling donkeys, but it just seems to finish better on a G and just wanted to hear people's opinion.
@@declanbriody4774 No bother buddy.
Keeper lit... ☘🎸👍
Thanks a million. Love this song. Do you know any simple finger picking versions? I’m having trouble with the timing when I try to finger pick. Cheers.
I did this as a request for the strum, but I will look into a picking version for you pal and see if I can help you out 👍🎸👌
@@blainevaq brilliant! Thank you very much!
