    While this video isn't that old I am surprised that anyone would think the Phoenix area is affordable. Our gas is high, groceries too and the rent is high too. We are more online with Colorado than not as I hear it from people about town.

      The Denver suburb I lived in has an average price point of 650k and Goodyear Az for example which is a similar style suburb has an average of 485k. That’s a pretty steep difference. Gas is high but lower state income tax, lower rents, and no tolls, …. Oh and lower property taxes 👍🏻

      It's really not. I moved here in 2014 because it was more affordable annd just in the last 3-4 years it has become more and more expensive.

    Phoenix and Tucson apartment rentals are still VERY high. I'm retired and would love to move to Phoenix where I have some old friends. But. . .to get a similar size apartment to the one I'm renting in Wichita, Kansas, I would have to pay TWICE what I'm paying now. TWICE! So, it looks like I'm not going to be able to move out there after all. VERY depressing since I really need a change of scenery. But rent for a decent place out there is VERY high. I don't know who these people are who say it's very affordable out there. If it was I'd move ASAP. . .But it isn't, and I can't. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      I totally agree with you. I was just out there the 1st and 2nd week of July 2023 and babeeee the price knocked me back to where i currently reside in Chicago...equivalent to what i have now open concept, stainless steel, dishwasher, Washer/dryer and jacuzzi. Is double what i pay now plus i still haven't saw one with a jacuzzi some unit only did some upgrades but still have popcorn ceilings and walls and closet racks are the 70s 80s wooden sticks to hang your clothes on. Water, trash, sewer the landlord pays they make you pay. Here, if it's not a home you own or rent you typically only pay electric and gas and the other is the owners responsibility. Only cheap apartment you'll find there is definitely in an UNDESIRABLE location.

    Thanks for sharing this! Moved from Chicago to Arizona and the change in cost of living played a huge role in accelerating my journey to financial freedom. 'In the dance of dollars, taxes often lead.' 🌵 The lower property and income taxes here are a game-changer! Always research and stay ahead of the curve. #ArizonaAdvantage 🌞

    You are so right! I moved to Phoenix from Colorado end of 18 and lived there until January 20. I’m in shock at how high Colorado is. You can’t find a decent apartment for under 2000. I’m moving back end of August and can’t wait! Colorado isn’t what it used to be. The cost of living and life style of Phoenix is so much better!

      I love Colorado but too expensive can buy a home for less than 3500 a month right now. It’s insane. Welcome back!

    I really enjoy these types of videos, along with the home tours. One thing I would point out in addition to all of the helpful things you mentioned is that people need to keep in mind the cost of a roof replacement if you have solar in Arizona. I believe the cost can increase quite a bit if you have solar and need to replace your roof, because they will need to remove the panels, replace the roof, and then reinstall the panels. And you may need to hire a separate company to remove and reinstall the solar panels. All of that adds up in a hurry.

    When I first moved to AZ, I was in a one-bedroom luxury apartment for $695/month. I looked the other day, and that same apartment is now $1825/month. Let that sink in.
    FYI: That was about a decade ago. Thankfully made it into a house.

    My husband just got his greencard, we’re planning to move to Arizona. After watching this video I’m certain we can afford to live in AZ since Canada is ridiculously expensive to live in! *edit* thank you for breaking these costs down, googling gave us such contradicting information but hearing it from someone that lives there helps plan/budget!

    When you calculate the low wages combined with the highest utility bills in the nation, and the 2nd highest gas prices - you may want to reconsider. Five months is is very hot plus the nights are hot, too. The winters in Metro Phoenix area are much colder than, say, coastal California. High temps are 50 - 65, and nights are 24-43.

    • @Phxlivingnicole
      @Phxlivingnicole  Рік тому +1

      Life is expensive right now. 🫠 Not state specific. Also gas isn’t the 2nd highest it’s not even top 5. Also not highest utilities either… Hawaii is. All western states are about the same with Hawaii, Cali and Washington being the highest. It’s hot here, very hot for 5 months! Don’t move here if you hate the heat and can’t compromise on that. Winters rarely get that cold. Average is 40 degrees at night.

    This girl is full of it. This place is ridiculously high. I have a 500 sq foot studio. In the summer my electric is 200$ and there’s no HOA that’s 150 a quarter or 80 a month. I’ve been shopping 3 years. Least I have seen is 200 a month. Talk about desperation to do the bait and switch on you.

      Are you looking at condos? West valley has tons of homes with lower hoas. Mine is less than $80 a month. 🤷🏻‍♀️ lol no bait and switch here
