One of my favorite cars I've ever owned was my '66 LeSabre. 340, ST400... It was given to me by my shop teacher's aunt when I was in high school. In two days we had a rebuilt 340 dropped in, cleaned up the trans, all the brakes done, new fluids.. I drove that car for almost a year before someone wrecked into it last winter. The Buick 300/340 is a really underappriciated motor! I got 23mpg highway, and put maybe 35-40,000 miles on it in the 8 months or so it was on the road. Man, I miss that car.
Great show guys! I love all the classics, I have always been a big Buick fan but also love all of the other classics. Road kill rocks! HATS OFF TO YOU both, DAVE AND MIKE, You guys have a great chemistry that makes this show Great and unique!
So many Roadkill firsts: "Mint!" "Implement of bashing," "Well orchestrated machine," "Look at the action on that!" "It's 10pm and we're going to pack it in for the night..." *Brake Check* and... most importantly... "YES!!!"
A couple thoughts. You should have known that the wheel cylinders would fail when they bled themselves, the seals let the air trapped past so it was just a matter of time. I like to use a remote oil filter kit in the gas line instead of numerous smaller filters. They trap more crap before plugging and time to change it spin one off spin he new one on. I use a paint strainer on a funnel to reclaim the gas in the filter after changing.
That buick was cherry man. I can't wait to see what you guys do too it in the future. Also, can't wait to see it at the autocross. Could you talk about autocross information and how to get into the races.
Can't believe they didn't change the Wheel Clyinders and hoses to start with they already had the parts. No way i would have driven out the driveway without changing them.Love the show.
These videos are amazing guys. This is SO much better than Top Gear U.S. that they should honestly be ashamed, they're nowhere near same level as this, this is quality. This is what automotive shows SHOULD be. Not dainty pretty boys who think they look great on camera, but guys who know their sh*t and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty.
its a remote starter switch. it looks fancy but all it actually is, is a push-to-make switch with two wires and a pair of crocodile clips. you clip one croc clip onto the battery feed to the starter motor, the other onto the starter motor solenoid, press the button and the engine will crank over. if you have the ignition switch turned on it will start and run. you can do the same with a screwdriver or other metal implement so long as you're careful not to short-circuit anything.
i had a 65 skylark sedan with the 300 2 speed....the trans was awesome....dual range first gear...the Super Turbine 300...variable vane torque converter
1987 isn't OLD. Find a 1971 Custom Cruiser, the one you could load 4x8 sheets of plywood into and still close the neat clamshell tailgate, (the one where the glass went up into the top and the gate rolled down under the body). I had 3 of those we used for A/C service and in our remodeling business. 455 V-8, fully loaded, 9 passenger, 5,100 #, 15 mpg on the highway. The '87s were new stuff, lower power and weight with a GM motor. Last true Oldsmobile V-8 rolled out of Lansing in 1974.
Sara I say since when have F&F ie: Finagan & Frieburger been accurate or informative. I think you did a pretty good job considering how nervious and no script.I think you were vary entertaining and w/o adoubt easier on the eye then those two. I would hope that we will see more of your segments in the future. yes please
whats crazy is how short the studs are on the drums you would think you couldnt get the lug nuts on. also the studs are pressed into the drums. only time ive seen than is on my 47 chevy 1/2 ton.
One would assume that Rick undertook to fix the gearbox as well as the engine. I can understand why the running gear was replaced afterwards. Good brakes & good lights are essential. If it'd been sold on to me I would have had those wheels cleaned up and painted or powder coated & kept the hubcaps we see on the care here. I like the 'ghetto' style statement. When they replaced the corroded floors i'd have had the guys paint the new metal exactly like the railroad sign & stop sign they used.
I have a 1966 buick special sitting in my barn with a 340 motor. I'm never going to fix it up. You can have it for free if you want. I live in Lodi, CA.
have we seen this car since it was restored to working order(yes I know they did some stuff to it in Hotrod Garage)? and have the guys placed a real floor on it?
Man those guys have a lot of talent. However the most important safety feature of the car is the brakes and they decided not to swap out key components? Hope is not a strategy.
Don't you just love it when Freiburger says "mint".
Neil Ozzieznej BAM
hell yeah I love a smart ass lol
i love when he says "we could die"
Neil Ozzieznej yet when Rick says it, it's not the same.
Some little boys from Haggard starting saying it too. But man..they are the worst mechanics
this is how road kill all began its still timeless video adventure, they should make vacation package like this

Its crazy how wheels and a drop could make a car look that good
When Freiburger and Pewe are together, they absolutely feed off of each other.
"mint" "MINT"
"Flawless" "flawless"

Thanks! We love making them.
My hats off to all of the unseen people that make the road kill show happen too....TY everyone.....I soooo enjoy your shows!
Man I love this car. My mother had a '68 Buick, so looking at this thing just brings me back.
I subscribe to 4wheel & Offroad and love it when Pewe digs up some ancient jeep from his backyard and goes wheeling. Great job on these episodes guys.
I had a blue 1967 Buick Special, hard top. But still this brinks back memories! We called it the Bu-Dog
I enjoyed the video as much as reading the article awhile back. Thanks.

"Dude,that doesn't taste right"
THE BEST SHOW ON MOTOR TREND
For the engine to still work after all those years is just amazing.
Man, I thought Rick was kinda welling up after the maiden voyage. Sweet ride, guys!
That buick was cherry man. I can't wait to see what you guys do too it in the future. Also, can't wait to see it at the autocross. Could you talk about autocross information and how to get into the races.
the signs for the floor inspired me to patch my floor with an old license plate. Awesome idea. love theses guys
Can't believe they didn't change the Wheel Clyinders and hoses to start with they already had the parts. No way i would have driven out the driveway without changing them.Love the show.
I used to have a '68 Buick Special Deluxe. It was a 4 door sedan and had a roof, but it was the same color and I loved that old car, lol.
Love the floorboards, it’s fantastic
I love these videos. I must say though this makes me realize how bad my 1964 Impala is as a daily driver. Glad I park it most of the time.
"like a glove" as he tosses sheet metal signs over the floor boards...... AHHAHA
Thanks to you guys now I know what to do when gas starts to overflow the carb.
GREAT piece. Loved it. Look forward to updates on this car. Awesome.
This HAS to be where Roadkill came from

This should've been the first episode of roadkill.

So roadkill indeed !

The unofficial first roadkill
10:10 Then it happened...ROADKILL!
Here's a challenge: Find an '87 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser and bring it back to life! I love those old wagons, and I have one myself.
you guys have all the fun

As of Sunday August 23, 2020 --- Freiburger has put the Buick up for sale.
So this is roadkill before roadkill was a thing? :D
+YZFmotoWolf First Roadkill aired in Feb 2012, This was aired in April 2012,
This must have been before the "Roadkill Zip Tie Moment" was born. Great save on that car. How much did you give Pewe for it?
I really enjoy this series guys! How about finding an Oldsmobile ;)
I think that Buick looks cool tbh.
I love the sheet metal bender
loved the rims! cool car.
Woah Homeless Dave has shoes on, how respectable
that is a beautiful car!
whats crazy is how short the studs are on the drums you would think you couldnt get the lug nuts on. also the studs are pressed into the drums. only time ive seen than is on my 47 chevy 1/2 ton.
did he say, "hit the autocross?" in a 66 buick special? daring!
Great show!
So, just a question, what are the biggest things to worry about when restoring a car? 1956 Biscayne that im about to start on.
One would assume that Rick undertook to fix the gearbox as well as the engine.
I can understand why the running gear was replaced afterwards.
Good brakes & good lights are essential.

American men, motors, and SPIRIT can do anything.
wish I could find deals like that!! diamond in the rough!
Awesome Buick
Just so you know they still make wheel bearings for vehicles in the US. I would know I work at a plant that supplies General Motors.
Great video!
The water pump... Mint😀
Holy shit. David actually wore shoes back then.
These 66 and 67 A-Body Buick have some of the best body lines.. I do hope they restore it.. These Buick's get no respect!
So I'm the 79th person to give a thumb down after realizing this is a highlight reel from something I've already seen? Cool.
throws rail road sign on driver side floor board says "like a glove" LOLOLOLOL
I have a 1966 buick special sitting in my barn with a 340 motor. I'm never going to fix it up. You can have it for free if you want. I live in Lodi, CA.
Damn this makes me want to go out and build an old car right now!!!!!!
Very cool those motors are beast go buick!

That Demon is car Craft's ride. It has a late model Hemi in it.
