The Tekkens are the first foams I’ve ever been interested in. Probably my inner child telling my current self that I can’t possibly pass up on a Jin Kazama Nike shoe lol
I bought these back in 97 at 18 years old and they were so expensive and so futuristic that my homeboys wanted to buy them from me and eventually I caved in and sold them to a friend so when I seen them coming back out it sparked up nostalgia and I hit on SNKRS and I messaged my friend and told him he won’t get this pair
there used to be a clear hierarchy between the 2 drivers for 1 team. occasionally one would be better than the other all of a sudden but by and large there was a main driver and a rookie/veteran.
I had these when they first came out in 96; had one of the retro pair that released in 2017; and will be passing on these! I do like the DMV exclusives tho. Only other color way I had other than the original royal blue was/is the metallic red joints.
I think Roger Federer's line from ON would be the closest we could get to what ON might do with a basketball shoe. With Federer being a huge basketball and Michael Jordan fan, he may try to make a basketball shoe. But I'm sure it would look completely different from his shoe, which I think is supposed to be both performance and casual. But honestly I'm down for companies thinking outside the box and making shoes for sports they are not known for... I'm just saying because they could excel at basketball and we won't ever know until they release something.
i wanna see foams prices go down cause 240 is not it, also i’d love to see nike protro/revamp or even make a whole line of new foams for basketball, i really want to play with them on court but the price tag and the shoes overall tooling is very heavy,…
Ever since I bought the all black one and wore it my god these shoes feel nice on feet even for a wide foot like me but I still went 1 and half size up. But they feel nice. What I am waiting is rhe Tekken the purple version. Hope I can buy one. I was disappointed I was not able to buy the Sakura one coz they never offered it in the Philippines
foams are too heavy and expensive for today's audience. ppl always try to counter argue with boots/dress shoe culture being conservatively heavy but they dont see that in sneaker culture we are used to the sensation of lightweight and comfort, we got a different perspective on shoes (not to mention those dress shoe guys try to find lighter cushy shoes once they realize how comfy sneakers are) Then the next arguement is "ppl still wear brick chucks" now we have more improved options for chucks nor the foam has iconic cultural status ranging from rock fans to west coast hiphop fans along with their accessible price points. Foams tried their high-end tactic with CDG collabs but it created a lil bit of buzz but not enough for top-to-down fashion heirachy appeal.
Adidas got a banger with the Anthony Edwards line because the Ae 1 is this generations line of Jordans the basketball God's blessing adidas with athlete similar to MJ because they lost out in signing him back in the day.
Coopers eggplants and the pearls. The Og royal is 4th for me personally. The Galaxy are decent. And I tyhink most peoples body type and style don’t really work with foams. Skinny legged people look weird in them. You gotta have thick cavs. And Nike needs to stop retiring things for a while. I want something fresh.

I think the shattered backboard foams were criminally underrated when they dropped it looks like a work of art I have a dead stock pair💪🏾

Yes!!! I like this show
@ezJuanMartinez 32:38 appreciate the shout out re: ON. I imagine that their 1st basketball shoe would look like the Reebok Zig 😅

Mate now that you say Puma properly you can go all the way and use Celsius for temps.

when you put a face to co-writer, then it’s not annoying 😂

where did you cop your cap juan martinez?
At the Mamba Academy back in 2019. I ironed on the Kobe patch later.
@@ezJuanMartinez i got that patch :)
Hmmm, the Mamba logo kinda reminds me of Magnum ice cream logo 😅 I don't mind that Juan likes Magnum 🍦too
