SWT - Surface Sand Control

Sand production associated with oil and gas wells is one of the oldest problems facing the petroleum industry, this problem occurs throughout the world in wells producing from younger tertiary age reservoirs, particularly in the Miocene and Pliocene Age sands.
Typically, these formations are weakly consolidated by a combination of argillaceous cementing materials, the interaction of intergranular friction and in-situ stresses, capillary forces and some cases by the viscosity of the fluids in place.
