I love how he doesn't have that typical comedian vibe. He's more of a story-teller, which makes the punchlines even more impactful! 🤪
Pp
Super unique and honest, loved it
True stories for comedic content are the best, 'cause there's a chance you'd relate to that story. 😁👍
Not relevant, but I love your name/title.
Sometimes it's not funny when they laugh at their own jokes, but this guy makes me laugh when he does
Check out John Crist. I laugh even harder when he laughs at his own jokes, it’s way too funny.
This cutie-pie was great!!! I laughed my hiny-bo off!!! I don’t care if he is only 5’7”. He’s got beautiful eyes, and an awesome smile. Most importantly, he has a great personality and can keep you laughing!!! 😊❤️😊
Just make sure you don't look at him when you laugh, because he'll view that as needy.
We're just Kjellin' out man.
So glad someone else found the pun. Been using that one for years.
"get outta town, Sam!" Lol
I'm pretty picky about my comedy, but Shane and Zoltan and Kjell are finds on Drybar that are worth the price of admission.
Since seeing Dry Bar, the hubby and I have been to live shows with Shane and last weekend, Zoltan. What a great way to find affordable cleaner comedy.
I check Minnesota and Wisconsin weekly now for fresh new comedy.
This guy's hilarious 😂 love his stand-up routine 🛋️
laughed so hard at the snoring part
He is sooooo FUNNY🤣🤣🤣!!!!
This guy is the funniest. A little sad. But funny.
I am Norwegian also with a werid name that nobody can pronounce. Thank you Mom & Dad. You so made me laugh today. You are so hilarious.
Anne? You can't pronounce that?
@@elliebellie7816 😂
@@elliebellie7816 You can pronounce it the English way, but in Norwegian it’s different, and I imagine most English speaking people would have a hard time getting it right.
... Anne?.. FAIRLY sure I can pronounce it (though I am from Sweden and lived in Norway for a bit more than ten years).. but.. it DOES make me wonder about.. what your situation is?.. do you live in the US, or somewhere else where "Anne" is difficult to pronounce?.. or... did you chose to create a profile using a different name than you actually have?
Everyone in Norway can pronounse Anne. Its a common name. I think she talk about her last name Presher… thats not Norwegian sounding.
Funny with Kjell here… because he does NOT pronounse it in Norwegian 😂
Just so down to earth & unique, love the story telling, smiling...😃🌼🌼🌼🌼✨✨✨stay safe love from Australia 💗
That guy was AWESOME!!! I'm trying to put makeup on while listening to this and I can't stop laughing , my eyes get all wet and I have to redo my makeup again and again 😅 GREAT JOB COUCH 👏 👍
Wonderful when we can laugh that hard!!!
Knew a guy named Kjell and he always beat people to the punch before their confusion had a chance to wander. He was a great guy and the name fit him well.
This one of my favorite Dry Bar comic bits!!!
Thanks man. I've been sad for awhile but you reminded me what funny is.
Growing up around Norwegians in Minnesota is pretty much a continuous giggle fest. My Dad's first language was Norwegian and it is just fun to listen to. He called it "Sing songy". That is so true. But, there is that time when all the "old" men would break into laughter and us kids would ask what was so funny. The answer was never funny. We didn't actually figure out until we grew up a bunch that they were telling dirty jokes. Dad would say they just laughed because of how the language sounded. The bottom line is that language really is best when it is funny. Kjell translates this well into Engrish.
My dad used to say "a thousand svedes run through the veeds chased by one norvegian"
He has the saying backwards
Nope, live not on evil is right, that's how it goes.
HAHA. Mine too. My real name is Naessgaard.
@live not on evil. My Norwegian grandmother said the same thing, although how they can tell each other apart is beyond me (Norse-American).
Especially in the drifting, vhistling snoo.
I'm also a twin (fraternal), also born 5 min after, also was not anticipated and was baby B for a couple days...Kjell spot on with his set 😄👏👏👏
So amazing 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 Love his chilled approach
Love this guy, “ wait there’s something more”
Hysterical snoring bit the facial expressions really made me laugh. Kjell is a cutie too.
Yes, he’s handsome
Tooth fairy bit cracked me up!!
I’m Norwegian American. I have my grandpa’s name (Sverre) as my middle name, and he was pleased about that, but he was also glad that it wadn’t my first name, for the reasons this comedy bit points out!
this dude's awesome, he seems like a shop teacher who does *not* have time for your bull****, Derek, but will give the nerdy kid in class advice about girls and how to do up a tie
💜💜💜omg l love this guy,,,, super funny!💜💜💜
This is one of the funniest stand ups from Dry Bar. I’ve watched it at least 10 times.
Norwegian names are all funny untill you learn their meaning. Kjell, Kjetil and Ketil comes from norse Ketill, meaning sacrificial pot (blood collector) or helmet. Trygve, from norse Tryggvi, means safe/safety.
Ketill = Kettle in English pretty much, so that makes a lot of sense when I think about it!
Thank you for sharing the info! 👍
strange that vikings have a word for safety. they were basically Wildlings lol
@@jacobl6714 They were actually incredibly high tech and sophisticated for their time, making ships that could travel as far as America and Persia. It would take the rest of Europe 400 years to reach that kind of shipbuilding technology
Name comes from Kettil which meant Helmet. It was gradually modernised into Kjell in the 17th century. Similar to Kettle (Kittel in old Swedish)
the snoring part made me die laughing LOL
Great show...super cute guy!
He mentioned Frodo but looks more like Samwise. Just goofin'; I like him!
Hahahahahaha!! Now that is some funny stuff right there!
I was an exchange student for a year in Norway. "Kjell Bjorgen" and "Trygve" seemed perfectly normal to me.
Kjell is adorable!
One of the funniest comedians ever. Laughed all the way. Pure genius 💜
Hi from 🇨🇦. I married into a Norwegian Swedish family with lots of traditional Norwegian names. My nephews name is Kjell. Trygvie is the name of his best friend 🤣 searously. His moms name is Ulla. I have a Danish name but my mom changed the traditional spelling from Mena to Miena 🤦♀️ pain in my but. My husbands name is Bo; our childrens names are Mette & Davin.
I remember being in school and classmates who didn't read so well would come across a big word like "refrigerator." They'd study it and then just blurt out something that had the same first letter. "The milk and eggs are in the . . . uuuuuummmmm . . . rabbit?"
7:10 Nah, you like one of them As Seen on TV ads where there's this product that is right off the bat seen as useful and then Billy Mays says, "But wait! There's more!" And then he goes on to add this other quality that makes the product EVEN better and then adds a super deal that makes you wanna "Call Now!"
You were the extra bonus that made your brother better. He owes his success to you. Because without a technically youngr brother, he would have no one to feel smug and superior to. It's an older sibling thing- trust me, I'm oldest of 5. We owe our success to you. You can just coast off their success.
I had a boss at a golf course I used to work at. Ended up he was a twin and his brother would work for him every so often. My wife was the one that figured it out. I'm still in touch with some of the guys, we talk about the differences we missed and laugh a lot.
Thanks for listening.🤟😁
WHAAAAAAAAAAAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My dad had 2 friends who had the exact same names they were both brothers, not twins though, Kjell and Trygve Hvidston !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey couch!! I loved your act. Too bad I’m 5’10”
hahahhaa as a Kjell born in England, this was my life reflected.
Thanks!
laughed so hard I cried at least 3 times! SO FUNNYYYYY
I enjoyed this a lot!! However, anyone who snores like that really NEEDS to see a sleep doctor, no joke.
“I crashed my own birth”
Bruh……..he be sound’n like Dr. Doofinschmertz
My name is Kjetil, and its so funny, cause none Scandinavians dont even know how to start it xD they cant even start trying, cause they are stuck on the 2 first letters with no idea how to even begin making sounds xD
OMG I'm rolling. This is hilarious. Trying not to burst out laughing hysterically at 4 am...
My name is Damajah. My sisters are Sicah, Sama, Ilya, and Dasia. Our parents names are Heather and Jeremy- Andrew and Lucy if you count the stepparents and technically Jeremiah if you count what my dad called himself after the divorce and arrests.
We are white Americans with no ties to the various cultural backgrounds my dad pulled our names from. He just thought they sounded cool.
So all that to say- I relate.
I should clarify, Ilya and Dasia are Heather and Andrew's kids. But my mom isn't going to name her last two kids something normal after us 3. That'd just be weird and cruel.
So she came up with those names. It was harder because she isn't "special" like my dad 🥰
🤣 Seriously! At about minute 29 my husband rolled over, faced me, and started to snore!! 🤣
I can relate to this in regard to the name, especially for my surname.
I think he reminds me more of a handsome Sean Astin
He's funny and the last one I watched forgot his name was even funnier! But I cant keep up with all of these specials. I wish they were posting this many specials during the lockdown! I am in NYC and we were in lockdown for 6 months or more. We are in shelter in place now and might go back into lock down but for now I have to catch up with appointments and stuff.
My dads name is Kjell! So many people pronounce it wrong all the time.
Wow.... super funny. love him!
My twin sister and I are both failures. We both have depression, ADHD, pain syndromes, and I'm lucky enough to have chronic migraines. The only 2 things in my life that I know for sure that I succeeded in more than my sister is that I'm 7 minutes older and that I potty-trained her by observing my older sister. My mom even insists that we're the same age because the egg separated at the same time! It's ridiculous.
Yes I get all the perks of knowing Norwegian and none of the drawback.
The snoring talk is the creepiest thing I've ever heard LOL
That was great lmao
Love him
He's great!
Has my face hurting!
This is actually really interesting cuz my 7 week old kitten sneezed in my eye to wake me up
I always liked the Minnesota Vikings in the 70 's they always had several. Nordic players ,to the names on the jerseys with no vowels.john Madden always enjoyed saying their names.they we're usually linemen ,most of them were from places like Wisconsin and Minnesota and some from canada
I'm dismantling all of our spray bottles! 😱
Your parents gave absolutely no "f's" when naming you. 😂
13:01 Dean Winchester vibes 😂
30:30 I think your girlfriend might be a walker from The Walking Dead 😂
It does! 🤣Winchesters
So funny ❤️😄😂
I love how he makes a joke about having to correct Americans on how to pronounce his name, when he can't even pronounce his, or his brother's, name correctly... But, tbf, some people in Norway do struggle with the distinction between the skj- and kj- sound... as well as some other similar sounds to them. (We have a lot... ;-;) So, they often do say skjell (shell) instead of Kjell. XD
(But we also get this difference "hammered" into us from a young age since we know these are sounds people often confuse.)
Thank you for this comment! I was confused by his pronunciation. I'm studying Norwegian so I don't claim to know the language but reading the name Kjell, I assumed it would be pronounced like the words "Kjærlighet" and "Kjenner" etc. and when he pronounced it I was afraid I'd been saying wrong 😅
Can’t stop laughing!!!
Yes!!!!!!!! Vinegar!!!! My man
😂 What a funny fellow!
His name looks like IKEA products 🥴
Your name looks like a delicious Mediterranean meal
This guy is so Funny Man
Omg, as a woman that snores, I already won’t sleep next to anyone, but after this, I DEFINITELY will never sleep next to a dude again. Lmaooooo, jerks!
I have a cousin named Inga. No one ever gets right and she’s a teacher
^lmao yeah right
I came to read the comments to see how “Inga” is pronounced and instead there’s an ad. Disappointed, really.
@@Bongus_Bubogus ad of fake chat lol
Great! 🩸
Yo you made me nervous for my movie date this week now 😭
The closed captioning wrote Shell everytime he said Chell😂👍
I so feel this guy. I am the youngest of 4. All of my siblings have passed away, and I’m the only one left. I asked my Mom if I was now her favorite, and she said, “Nope.”.
Yeah, that happened.
My last name means shovel
@@juggmkj Shovel was my nickname as a kid.
my name is Line... Francophone from Quebec, Canada. pronounced Lyne. I get Lean, Lynea, etc. love it
A trooper - sorry he was sick - glad he still made it work. I found to the sneeze in the face joke ukky. Overall enjoyed the different humor. Formula humor can be pulled off; but, can fall flat old hat. Love this guy's shirt 😁
Sam and max!? Found the kid of the telltale games fan.
My name is Thomas Veg Pedersen Jr. My grand father was Ludvig Emil and my grand mother was Emma Olsen.
Kjell and Trygve.
Great!!!! Lol
Very funny.
So funny
Hilarious!
✌ a winner
Very funny
I can relate
I'm Norwegian and this made me laugh so hard!
Is his pronunciation of the name correct? It sounds like a hard English "Ch" sound and if that's correct I've been pronouncing it wrong 😅
@@StaceySeelieNo, you are right, the sound KJ is not like CH in chill.
@@torgrimandersen4182 Thank you. It sounds more like the English 'SH' sound (but not exactly the same) right?
Silly Funny, Lol:)
Funniest snore joke ever. 🤣🤑
Hilarious
Kjell and Trygve are normal name in Norway.
If he’s in Utah 90% are probably on antidepressants 🤷♀️😅 I think we have held the record of highest antidepressant use in the country.. for years..
Hope to see more of "Chelle" 😄 really interesting-captivating-fun on top of the humor 👏👏👏 and am I the only one who got a vibe of mix between Greg Kinnear-esque + Will Ferrell-ish?
soundbites: attention seeking constitution that's relentless "watch me/look at this" 💥
snore is laughing at you for being awake 😆
😂He's hilarious 🤣 & a cutie 😍 ... im 5'2" so 5'7"(or4") is still tall(er) enough for me 😉😘💋
I speak Danish and we would pronounce it as “Kell” 🇩🇰
He’s funny!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't kjell pronounced as ch_ell the name of the female in The Road to El Dorado??
I thought that, too 😅
