Great Build! Only down fall of the model is your gonna have to print your own decals if you want it to be a Life Guard rescue. As the decals supplied by the manufacturer spelled guard “GAURD”
The tires in the 2 kits are different, but what about wheel size? Like could you put the stock Jeep wheels with the bigger tires or the beadlock wheels with the smaller tires?
Tony, in general you can mix and match different wheels if the diameter is similar on the inside. Sometimes you have to trim the inside opening or add some material to the outside of the wheel. Its a matter of trial and error. However, an issue can arise from tire width. You may need to use an auxiliary wheel back to accommodate the difference! I would say it started with the Ford GP (GPW), GP (General Purpose) was likely a later derivative of that, but with it officially becoming "Jeep" during the press of Washington Daily printed it as a Jeep, from Katherine Hillyer's article after the Captial Display. So it can be said that's were we know for sure the general public started using the name.
Wm. In most cases frames are flat or semi gloss black. You can just use primer spray for a finish because it can be found in both sheens! Thanks for watching! PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug
My kit has the correct spelling LIFE GUARD decals. I bought it April 2021, same box etc. Those miss-spelled decals will be worth millions, like the US air mail postage stamp with the upside down airplane!
JO, This is a Revell of Germany release so you should be able to go to their website and get one. Really though, these are simple shapes so you might want to try using some packaging material and cutting out a few from that, -Doug
Xavier, That's some tricky wordplay there! Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven't already, to help us continue our mission to help more modelers! -Doug.
Looking at this makes me regret throwing out my old Revell CJ-7 which did have full engine detail. This would have been nice to complement it, but I'm still going to get one! Hopefully they'll correct the spelling error in the decals.
Nice kit and build with many nicely molded parts. The chassis is well detailed with a number of parts, but it's too bad Revell didn't include a detailed engine. That would add so much. Did anyone notice that the word lifeguard is incorrectly spelled?
That's a kit you can do so much with, should be a popular one.......👍👍👍
TP, I agree with that. It's ripe for weathering and customizing! -Doug

Jeep = GP (General Purpose [vehicle])
PM,, I've heard that one too! -Doug

Great Video. I just bought one. Would you suggest primer on frame then paint or just paint over it?
