I just started drama school, and this video is definitely a reality check, but it also deeply motivates me. It’s one of the reasons why I try not to put my eggs in one basket, but also have enough fuel to pursue what I love. Love this channel!

Fantastic video! I’ve been an aspiring actor for many years and definitely fell into that trap of setting all of my eggs in one basket. It was always the case of “what if a big opportunity is around the corner?!”, which used to stop me from going and living a life, and earning! I’m definitely going to take the tips and advice you’ve given in this video - thankyou!
Is there any chance you could make a video on what work an actor could do to get more involved in the industry? For example, how to get involved with theatres or other productions.
    Again, thankyou for this video!🙌🏼⭐️

I love your videos. I use them often as a reference for students in my clubhouse advanced improv classes. Stop by sometime I would love to have you as a guest speaker. Advanced course is in the clubhouse house “something different” and creator collaboration is in “Projects in Production” -Hillary Marek

Hi. I bet you get this question a lot, but what videos or books should I watch/read as someone who wants to get into acting (and as a total beginner with no professional experience)?
For some reason, I've always been aware of Stanislavsky's theories but unconsciously.
I've read a lot of self help books such as psychocybernetics, and they all taught me to imagine how my ideal self would act or react in certain circumstances, so you'd transition into your ideal self without any real forcing. I know acting isn't about actually becoming, but we can say it's still quite similar.
I'm also Italian. Do you think I should start in Italy and build a portfolio and only then consider trying abroad?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

I would try to build some experience where you are right now, absolutely. Then branch out.
In terms of books that have helped me, I recommend: 'An Actor Prepares' (Stanislavski); 'Stanislavski in Practice' (Nick O'Brien); 'Secrets of Screen Acting' (Patrick Tucker).
Hope these help you. Good luck!
