- Here’s a cover I did of Avenged Sevenfold’s song, “Lost” This is off of their 2007 untitled album.
All the instrumentation in the background was written and performed by Avenged Sevenfold. I just grabbed an instrumental version of the song from off the net and added the singing on top of it. One of my subscribers mentioned how it would be neat to hear the choruses without the heavy autotune, so I did just that (there is still light autotune on, however). Shout out to SoulSkel for the great idea!
Additionally, Tara Lansing out of Nashville, TN brought such an amazing element to the song! She is performing the octave vocals, The Rev's vocals in the chorus and also the ending vocals. You can check out what she's up to at @lansingrocks on IG. She trained at Zing Recording studios and worked with artists such as All That Remains and Killswitch Engage to name a few.

Just amazing how high a7x songs are! How can a bariton/tenor like M.Shadow sing in that range? Imagine how many years of practice it took to achieve that level of singing!

His voice in city of evil is actually really high considering he's a baritone.
Extreme compression and strength in his diaphragm. There’s a reason he’s blown his voice out several times throughout his career! One of the best vocalists.

Definitely the best effort I've ever seen, almost too perfect. I think MS has that slight rasp, and slight vocal wobble & a little sneer to his singing which obviously is impossible to replicate, so I'm not taking away from your version. Not at all. More disdain for the government & you'll be right on track.

Thanks for your feedback! I do sing it as it’s sung, however maybe the edits didn’t fit well. Moreover, my belts aren’t really “belts” per se: even though I am singing high, I’m adding some fry to those notes. When I’m actually recording it, I’m barely making any facial expression because I want more control than anything. But your point-for the video-I could have emphasized it more, perhaps!
