Kaepernick began kneeling over the Brown case in Ferguson, Missouri which precipitated the Black Lives Matter movement. The problem is, the Michael Brown incident after further investigation was not a case of social injustice. It was found that multiple black witnesses lied about what happened and the police officer was justified in using deadly force. If I was a police officer, my number 1 priority would first be to ensure that I get home safely to my family after each and every shift. A grand jury investigation proved that Brown's case was not a case of social injustice. The police officer was acting in self defense. So now, the protest is no longer about justice, it's about black people being above the law and portraying themselves as victims, no matter what the truth of the cases are.. Furthermore, if someone wants to protest anything, it's their right as an American to protest, but on the streets of America, not in the workplace. The NFL is the only workplace that has not fired people for protesting while in the workplace and on the clock. Why should the NFL be any different? Thirdly, Kaepernick's protest is also disrespectful to the country and to its armed forces because it is done during a time set aside to honor them. Totally shameful. There's a time and a place for everything. The beginning of NFL games is not the appropriate time, nor place.

They planned on going into retail stores, taking Nike clothing into the dressing room, and putting the universal NO symbol, circle-backslash symbol, over the Nike swoosh with a Sharpie. I can't say that I approve, but people are not happy.
This is what makes me laugh when I hear this topic come up. Everyone talking about social justice but yet no one wants to talk about the black on black crime. Let’s talk about Chicago and how black on black crime is as an all time high. Oh wait since it doesn’t fit the “white cop killed a black guy” narrative. no one wants to talk about the real issue. Fix the black on black crime first.
That's the difference when a black person commits a crime against a black person you know somebody black is taking they ass to jail. Not quite the same as a white cop with a camera on his shirt shooting to death and unarmed black man. And being able to resign or sign with another police force or just still get pay while trial goes on. never heard of a black man shooting up a white church and black police officers taking him to Burger King before he goes to jail. have you ever been to Chicago how can you speak on what happens if you've never been there plenty protesters and people working to change the culture in Chicago.
Oh and let's not fool ourselves by thinking guns aren't in the hood purposely. There's a few gun shops in most inner cities in America. the same as any tobacco shop or liquor store we have to stop as American people acting like these things were put there for a purpose.
It's not okay to kill anybody. However, only black people getting killed by white cops makes national headlines. If a white male is innocently killed by a black police officer, nobody is gonna hear about it. Are we saying it never happens?! Cmon…. the black community can't be that oblivious can they?!
No one said it was ok to kill anyone so stop trying to twist the comment. I understand that's what liberals like to do but lets be real here. White on white crime happens and so does black on black crime, yet no news source covers it. It's like CNN covering a story when a school shooting happens but after a few weeks they stop talking about it and move onto something else. Trump put the federal government into Chicago to try to solve the crime. Has it worked? I'm not sure but at least he tried.
mukathefreak let’s be real here and call this for what it is Its societies way of keeping blacks productive where do you think all of those athletes would be and what they would be doing if they weren’t in sports look in your inner cities you would have to be an idiot if you didn’t realize that
I don't respect kaepernick for one major reason: he didn't vote in the 2016 election. I'm all for social equality and kneeling for the anthem to protest social inequality, but kaepernick has been incredibly inconsistent with his message by not voting. Voting is a duty.
So you do not respect the over 20 million Americans who did not vote. Hypocrite. Voting is choice to use when you please. At the beginning of the US voting was not a duty as it was for WHITE landholding males. He like other people do not need nor ask for your RESPECT.
@@ClassicStang As a matter of fact, no I don't respect the 20 million Americans who didn't vote. Voting is one of the few times the people have the power to directly influence government. Voting is a civic duty. If people want change, they should vote. It is the most important right Americans have. you are truly delusional if you think it is something we should take for granted or something people should do "when they please." Those who didn't vote only contributed in helping the idiot we have in office win. I respect what Colin Kaepernick is doing and the message he is trying to send. I lost a great deal of respect for him when he didn't vote.
2016 election was a perfect election to not vote. and apparently a president can't be impeached no more so fuck voting when u have 2 snakes running for office. until they start putting some real people who have lived worked got took to jail for nothing seen hard times and poverty and can relate to the lower class and mid class earning and struggling people and discriminated because of the color of their skin then fuck ever voting again and fuck yo couch

So it’s OK to kill black ppl? That’s all I’m getting from this comment ???
Do your thing Kap, just keep it out of my football games. I’d like a few hours away from all the BS going on.
Nike messed up 💯💯Fans come first.
Legod is the best ever Some Legends gots no rings Nike is a multi-billion dollar company, I think they’ll be alright lol
mukathefreak let’s be real here and call this for what it is Its societies way of keeping blacks productive where do you think all of those athletes would be and what they would be doing if they weren’t in sports look in your inner cities you would have to be an idiot if you didn’t realize that
what????
What ever attention troll
How did Nike mess up? U think everybody who wears Nike feels how u feel bro?
I'm glad James Harrison, now, supports this. Because, early on, he was against kneeling, protesting, and (probably) Kaepernick as well.
I don't respect kaepernick for one major reason: he didn't vote in the 2016 election. I'm all for social equality and kneeling for the anthem to protest social inequality, but kaepernick has been incredibly inconsistent with his message by not voting. Voting is a duty.
Really Hillary or Trump we was doom from the jump
Spartan 99 so I didn't voted either
2016 election was a perfect election to not vote. and apparently a president can't be impeached no more so fuck voting when u have 2 snakes running for office. until they start putting some real people who have lived worked got took to jail for nothing seen hard times and poverty and can relate to the lower class and mid class earning and struggling people and discriminated because of the color of their skin then fuck ever voting again and fuck yo couch
Smh why is Max Kellerman dropping knowledge like that though. Well done sir.
"Kill the Hate" Just Do it!❤❤❤
Steven A. compared Kap to Trump. I’ll never forget that moment.
So where were all the protests from February to August????
This is the same Stephen A Smith who called Collin Kaepernick a hypocrite for kneeling.
Ah yes, this is what I tune into ESPN for
“There’s something wrong with you if you disagree with me.” ESPN continuing to bang out politics. We don’t watch spots for politics.
BLACKS Spend $1.5 Trillion Dollars In America's Economy...Nike Is Smart.
Everybody on this show seems more socially conscious then Steven A, just watch the Spike Lee Edition. Thank you James Harrison
Max was very honest and transparent. Much respect. ✊🏾
Who's the guy with the dome?
It’s almost the same thing how Hoover did with the BPP
TREPIDATION IS STEVE'S NEW FAVORITE WORD LOL
Being a veteran doesn't validate your argument because I've seen both sides taken from veterans.
There is diabolical man being confirmed to the high court but we are talking about this. Smmfh
No one wants to talk about where Nikes are made and how much money they pays kids.
Taking a knee is a submission gesture, people kneeled to Kings and it meant respect.
Damn max dropped da mic....I stand with kap✊🏽
It's not about patriotism when you don't have it to start with....
Tiger where did you serve.
Last time I checked the market for Nike went down 9 billion dollars
Nice shot at trump allegedly "being a billionaire" Steven A. 😂😂😂
NFL teams use to stay in the locker room 4 the National anthem
2:28 First time max ever said anything true or worthwhile. kudos!
Preach SAS!!
Max Kellerman keeping it 1000 with his opening statement.
ESPN talking politics is like going to a proctologist for neurological issues. BWAHAHAHA!!!
Max just bought himself 10 lives with this. Respect
This is not N. Korea or Russia. It is not mandatory to stand or sit
max is on spot here, good on you max for speaking truth to power
2:30 SAS: WHO!!?? 230 1/2 second Max: ( in head) nigga plz... you and I lol
I agree with the awareness he’s trying to spread just not the way he’s doing it. But I do give him credit for sticking by what he believes in.
The whole damn thing makes me shake my head.
Now we KNOW Trump didn't personally write this. If he did then there'd be more fully capitalized words in there. 😂😂😂
Corporate media and politics as well as professional sports now are just disgusting I cringe at all this.
Whoever made the decision in Nike to bring CK in, should be sacked immediately. One of the worst moves in advertising history.
Nike doesn’t care that you’re burning their product because they know you’ve already purchased their product. That just makes them laugh because they know one day you’ll probably go out and buy another Nike product to replace the one you burn. Hahaha.
Spending my whole pack check on Nike this week
Please post the 3rd verse also black ppl fought in every war just to return to no jobs and hatred so please let us know how many White affluent families or member's of Congress have children in the military
Max Kellermann was on point here. His comparison to Ali was spot on. Ali didnt always say or do the right things but his intent and message were in the right. Just like Kap. He isn't perfect but he is standing up for a good cause.
