I drove for them too. One day, on route, I swerved to avoid a driver in car who cut me off. I knew no one was next to me to hit. Accident avoided. Next day, I got reprimanded by boss for being "unsafe driver." My DSP, nor Amazon cared to listen. Glad I am gone too.
I've been working at another Chicagoland location for going on seven years and it's tough. All they care about it that you're breathing and you can do your job almost flawlessly. They're not interested in people, it's all about numbers and how many they can produce per hour.
I’ve known several people to get their jobs back and back pay when Amazon was found to be in the wrong by the team they have investigate. That statement is true. And the issues were within the facility.
I was assaulted in their parking lot in 2019 and got HR involved. They later fired me. I had to sue them after the police failed to address the issue. The employees who attacked me are currently in prison.
I know Jillian. How ORD5 has done her is wrong. She is the most happy and helpful person I've ever met. She goes out of her way to help anyone, even out of work. If Amazon apologized and didn't play games after her reinstatement, this wouldn't be taking place. She was so optimistic that they were going to phone her, saying it was a mistake, a human error thing. She genuinely believes there is good in everyone. It's a shame it's come down to this. Justice for Jillian
I was an Amazon warehouse employee from Nov 2,2023-Dec 1,2024 I was terminated because I was going fast enough & that my UPH wasn't high enough but was informing them of why that could possibly be giving them multiple reasons that had to do pertaining to the job being done
I'm sure she's in a lot of debt because of her wrongful termination. 65% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. I mean she works as a warehouse worker, so it's likely she's in that 65%.In Illinois, when getting terminated, you're ineligible for unemployment. Yeah, since she was reinstated, Amazon already agreed she was wrongfully terminated, which is covered under ADA. $300,000 probably doesn't come close to how her credit score is going to be affected for the next 7 years due to Amazon's negligence. I can't help but wonder why the lawsuit since Amazon agrred with the allegations of wrongful termination? Good luck, lady! JUSTICE FOR JILLIAN 💜
For those who don’t know Amazon warehouses are not managed by Amazon corporate they are individually managed businesses that are just given guidelines to operate by Amazon like a McDonald’s does with its franchisees. There is a GM that is in charge of running the warehouse who is usually some rando who was promoted from the line with no business background let alone any skill at managing people. That is why she was able to get her job back as like any unhappy customer can do a warehouse employee can appeal to corporate if the warehouses management is going rogue. It’s just most people fired don’t like the job enough to fight to keep it.
Wow, what an inspiration 👏 👏 👏 A regular average blue collar worker taking on a top corporation in the US without an attorney? Good for you. If more people had the courage to take action, there could be real change. I noticed that over the years, Amazon has not been the best employer. I hope they learn the errors of their ways. Good luck, honey. I hope you do a follow-up.
