I worked for a Class II supplier for Winstar back in 2006. I used to travel there to help out from time to time. This supplier had a wireless tablet that they could use to change game options on a single game or a bank or multiple banks of games at a time. What they would do on Friday mornings was to change the % on some selected banks down one level and then change them back on Monday morning. They didn't change every game, just some certain selected games. After changes, the tablet would cause the games to reboot and when they came back up, they were now a different %. This was Class II at the time, in Class 3 what he is saying is accurate.
@@GambleSmart Are you saying yes that he's correct about them changing the % up and down on some class 2 bingo games on certain days? I wouldn't think they were allowed to by law.
@@markmcmahen9442 Yes, C2 has different laws and regulations around them, allowing for more casino control and on the spot alterations aka tampering, lol. There's still paperwork and processing involved but C2 is regulated differently than C3
You obviously haven't been to the Indian casinos in New Mexico. Especially the one 20 miles west of Alb. You could win once in a while in the small casino before the pandemic, and after the pandemic, you can barely win 20 dollars. They can to set limits that you say they can't. You could hear people scream when they won and now you never hear anything from anyone. They were closed for over a year, and now they are making up for it.
My experience has been very similar with the "indian " casinos in Michigan. The pandemic nearly destroyed them. Especially the casinos near the Canadian border, where a significant percentage of their business crossed the border on weekends. I will not believe the casinos cannot "tighten up" the machines in order to make some of their profits back. Some casinos have still not opened gaming tables during the beginning of the week.
ABSOLUTELY - after covid my casino in MILWAUKEE, WI has done the same thing. Before Covid you could bring $100 to our casino and play for a couple of hours. Now after covid $100 probably won't last 10 / 15 minutes. In fact after covid you have to bring $500 just to last a couple hours now. I disagree a casino can't regulate when a machine can & can't win. The best time I've won consistently is between 5:30 am - 10:00 am at our casino. You can just tell that the machines stop paying after 10 am. I also believe they can regulate individually what you win. If you've won big, and you were using your players card; the computer knows this and the machine WILL NOT allow you to win, because you've won big prior. Also yes there is a control room/ where they look through cameras AND they can turn a machine off & on any time they want. I bet any money that they loosen up machines for you tubers to promote the casino. I've seen too much in more than 30 years of gambling & things at casinos they are very fishy & suspicious. My last visit to our casino, I knew they 'shut me down'; they saw me come in, read my players card & turned off every machine I was playing. EXAMPLE; I had $300 AND I love the BAG GAME. I figure that I could last 3 or 4 hours, get a number of bonus's & have some fun. WRONG. I had a total of 3 / yes count them/ 3 bonus's out of that $300, I was playing at my .88 cent bet. And to boot my total amount that I won on those 3 bonus's was ......wait for it, my total I won on THE BAG GAME, betting 88 cents on my 3 bonus's was $6, yes $6 not a typo. My 1st bonus was $2, my 2cnd bonus was $2, my 3rd bonus was $2. WOW - 3 bonus's that totalled not even enough to buy a McDonald's 🍔🍟 value meal. Out of the $300 bank roll my total amount I won on bonus's that session was $6/ for real. That's the RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR? Any 1 believe that after what I experienced. People at the casino open the machines up all the time. I'm sure they can adjust the machines tight or loose anytime they want. I have a challenge for the people making this video; Show up to the Milwaukee casino unannounced & play a session; Tell me if you believe what your saying here after.
Hi Marc, Jodi and Dave, so happy to see increase in followers and subscribers. My husband and I have followed you both before you started this new channel. People will believe what they want even though it’s not right! Who else can they blame for their losses?? Most people will play high volatility machines and thats why they lose ! It’s not the machines, it’s the player..lol Listen to the techs!!
Thank you so much. I am exhausted arguing with folks on cruise social media sites who are absolutely convinced the slot machines are constantly being changed by cruise casino employees!
I am convinced cruise ships bring in “plants” who bet large amounts and win consistently, the idea being other gamblers will do the same. The “plants” are paid to do this. I practically live in cruise ship casinos, and see people I have never seen before, come in, make larger bets, say $50, and consistently win huge jackpots for HOURS on several machines. They attract a large audience. Anyone else loses consistently on those machines after the leave. And I never see the “plants” again.
A casino I go to has a frequent ”occurrence “ of “power bumps” or power loss when there seems to be a lot of jackpots being announced. Then for hours no jackpots . Seems strange to me. They actually have to manually turn some of the machines back on.
Going to the casino for years I have noticed the exact same thing. Seemingly not a bonus in the building going off for an hour plus then all of a sudden within a 2-3 minute window you will hear every slot in the building going off. Happens way too often to be coincidence, and I'll never be convinced otherwise
@@jeremyhogan6809 You possibly should not play if you think this is real. Even if the power goes off it does not effect normal pay offs , once the power comes back on , you will slowly lose your money. Just a fact.
Playing here in Oregon at tribal casinos, where there is no state law for minimum payback percentage, I know for a fact they absolutely remotely monkey with the machines. After a recent ice storm where casinos had to close for almost a week and saw a huge loss in revenue, when reopened no one in the casinos was winning. I went to multiple casinos that I frequent on a regular basis and all were like this. One slot attentant told me that the previous day there were zero handpays for his entire shift for the first time and he's been there for 10 years. Keep in mind the casino was extremely busy. On the older machine you're showing it may have limited setting and functions but I have to assume newer machines with remote access are easier to manipulate
People often think that online slots don’t work just the way that casinos do - but if they’re properly licensed/regulated and using games provided by a reputable developer then they work in just the same way. Many won’t just tell you the RTP but also the variance. The other thing that many slot players don’t understand is the law of diminishing returns. I’m quite new to your channel so I’m not sure if you’ve covered it.
I can guarantee a million times over, video poker at Bonanza in Reno NV and Tamarack Jct in Reno NV used to be kickass. Now it is a total black hole. Sunset Station in Las Vegas was good, but not any more. Something changed. I don't know what but something changed. When you go from break even to $24,000 in the hole, that is not random, it is ROBBERY!!!!!!
@@charleyhorse1864I completely agree. My wife and I do a lot of cruising and gamble on those cruise ships as well. If I’m not trying to accumulate points for status, then I will remove my players card. We do play slots, but I primarily play roulette. On a particular cruise about 1-2 yrs. ago after not doing too well on a session, I returned to the same roulette table about an hour later, still having chips in my pocket and started playing, but got away with withholding my players card this time. It was a packed table just like before, but the dealer was different. Result was I began winning again. To eliminate the possibility of just a “one off” I repeated this pattern over the next few days. The pattern wasn’t perfect, but 75% of the time, using my players card resulted in lower winnings. The wife didn’t believe me at first, so I demo’d this pattern to her at the live roulette tables over the next few days, and she just said; “unbelievable”, how can they do this ? So, if I need points to reach a certain status goal, then they get my players card, if I don’t need points and just want to make a profit, then they don’t get my players card. One caveat though, the dealers and their boss, the pit boss ?, aren’t happy about this and sometimes will ‘fight’ you on this issue. I have taken this up with the Casino manager, and although he was adamant and very pushy about the use of my players card in the casino, ultimately he conceded that it was indeed “legal” to play without ever using my players card, so I would then throw his name and title around if I encountered future resistance from the dealers, then they relented and allowed me to play.
@@danielharbour4882 You are losing a lot of valuable player points and comps! They do not pay out according to what happened on your card in past play! Thats crazy stuff right there! Using a slot card does not affect anything! That’s a myth! It gives you comps! If you don’t want to use one it’s your loss..Probably save the casino money
There is even times security tells you the amount you won exactly. If the watch you alot then they should be doing other things as well to your machine.
Interesting, but I have seen floor managers haul-@ss to the back computer room or upstairs control center. When more than a few people are actually getting bonuses or red screens. Then, when they return to the floor. No one seems to duplicate their wins, any more. And if that is the case, then why do all the machines ring at the same time?
Sorry their is no control room where they can change things, sorry to burst your bubble. Casinos could care less if you are hitting. Its actually the opposite , when i ran my casinos i always hoped someone would hit a world record payout for a certain machine so i could put it up on the electronic side outside the casino.
Regulators are like politicians. Pay them enough and they will do anything you want or not see what they don’t want to see. Remember who owns casinos Just saying Vegas wasn’t started by honest people
They can change the dip switches on the motherboard to take control of the payouts such as on a game max (grand) can be set at 5,000 after payout it goes back to 2,000 play until it hits 5,000 again. This is done on most minor machines. It can be done.
I don’t know where you got your information, but it’s completely false. But, if you want to attempt to prove it to me, send us an email. gamblesmartgamblesafe@gmail.com
I have seen screens periodically skip. I know they have the availability. They can set the payback back. By the way the games i have seen that skip i have played other places and have never seen this happen but a few times. It one thing if you see 1 machine do it but have seen multiple of the same machine do it at the same casino. And all these machines did was take and take. And i know what games are worthy of playing and what ones are not.
Marc, i had seen you guys say that you wanted to recreate the par sheet from cherries jubilee. I was wondering if you guys would want to collaborate on this. Im pretty sure i could do it if i had enough video footage of the game
It would be easy to reverse engineer that game with a small group. 3000 plays is 100 spins/person with 30 people. That can be done in a single day without too much commitment from any single player. Have each player record their own play and then tally their stops later on.
Right, PAR sheet wise, it’s an incredibly simple game so in theory should be doable. I suspect the first and second reel have more virtual reels stops with the Cherries Jubilee symbol than on the third reel.
@GambleSmart what I'd like to do is create a simulation of the game and then run some experiments of things like "how often would you average coming out ahead in 100 spins?" Or "how much money does it cost to win the average jackpot?"
Heres a reality check… my friend bought a used machine in Vegas. It was double double bonus, from the 90’s, pretty old now, but this was around 2001 or so. Opening the machine, in the settings, there were payback levels you could select. I remember the one level called “miser”. Very tough to win in that mode! Why couldn’t the Native American casinos, who are not subject to the same regulations here in MN, switch the settings via the network?
the gaming commision has changed a TON of rules and regulations since the 90's!!!! it was so much more loosey goosey back in those days. not anymore. there is no machine out there right now that you could do that to.
I agree with you. I absolutely do not believe the casinos are not able to control how much profit they will make. Why are some casinos more lenient than others. Why are some days better than others. If it were fair, why are there not more winners than losers? It's a pretty poor business that cannot control its income and outgo. Seems fishy to me.
@@maryjackson9625 not only thru slots but casinos cheat thru table games as well. last time i checked, the casinos pay 20,000 a month for EACH auto shuffler they have for various table games. it seems to do a lot more than just "shuffling".

I would say yes, casinos can control your payouts, they can make win or lose, they have all your records, and this records are shared to the other casinos through a system. If you won s jackpot in a casino, all the other casinos in your city knows about it. When you go back next time, they will make sure you lose it back to them, they may let you win again, but if you are trying to be smart and leave the casino whenever you won, their shareable data collector will notice that, and they will make sure you are in loosing strike for a while to get ride of you. Just want to explain that casinos have very adveced face recognition technology that let them to have control over your payouts.
sounds all good BUT i feel when its busy the machines pay out more frequently. One other question is why do the casinos always move machines around the casino floor, when a machine is moved i see the jackpots are reset🤔🤔
They move them because sometimes they don’t get enough play! Of course when more people play you’re going to see more payouts! Don’t believe the myths!
Newer games seem to have eliminated or at least scaled way back the frequency of random bonus wins. Now those games only hit with 6 or even 8 of the same symbols or 3 of the special symbols. I play for the enjoyment but it’s getting harder to find those kinds of machines with the extras.
Until I found you guys I thought the same thing! We all want to blame the casino for our losses! It must be very frustrating trying to convince people otherwise! But you are 100% correct! If they learn how to gamble smart it would help!! You guys are doing a wonderful job! The people that think otherwise will someday read up on how slots work! Keep up the great work and remember that more of us understand and believe you than don’t!!❤❤
Good video… I like how you broke it down… The only thing I disagree with is when you said that the machines are regulated “for your favor”… Reality is that gambling is never in the player’s favor. These are specifically designed to make money for the casino, and then they’re called “entertainment.”
Gotcha - what I really mean is, they regulate to make sure it's honest and fair for everyone who plays. Instead of it being like the Wild West where they can allow casinos to have more control. Slot Machines are most definately a losing proposition in the long term.
I never heard him say they are in your favor, he said you have a built in disadvantage. But there is one case where a player can have have a .001 advantage and that is if you play a certain type of video poker machine and you play perfect strategy. Usually casino will have a few of these machines. I have helped right the laws for several state gaming boards
Those are must-win by progressives. They will grow over time based on the amount of coin in put into the machine. Whenever the progressive is hit and it resets, the slot machine will randomly pick a number within the range of the progressive. Example, if the range is 4,000 to 5,000, it will pick a number between that. Once the progressive meter hits that number, the progressive is awarded and the process repeats.
Ever since gambling is no longer a sin, it's now a paid to play entertainment so do not expect anything in return, okay. Just press the button "spin", get the near misses, or probably some small wins which is also or actually a minimal loss and if luck still on your touch, well you may notch a once-a-while poach wins which you would too, eventually donate it again to the casino coffers for their continually profitting from you all generosity in return of the fun happiness or excitement that as expected. Suit thyself, people.😂 The casino politely grinned , welcome, come back again, will yeah..😅
I was in Reno a few years ago playing roulette on the slot machines ., I noticed a pattern which roughly repeated every 30 odd spins so I took the machine for $1000 should have stayed there all night but didnt , come back the next day as just as it was about to payout twice in a row , boom reset flashes up on screen and another 25 odd losing hands and boom reset .
A Few Questions about this:... Is that percentage payout based on that single machine, a group of machines, the overall casino take-in? Is the take in based by the hour, day, week, month, quarter year, year? Is that guaranteed percentage of 20% "kept" by the casino....by the hour, day, week, month, quarter year? Do the machines reset after jackpots? Are the 80% payouts to the players distributed to all players within the casino, then subtracted from each machine, group of machines, the entire casino? For the hour, day, week ,month, quarter year...
So can a casino have the manufacturer program the machine to reduce the amount of winning combinations during a bonus round for the size of the bet? That then means the casino has no control over the game, but the chances are reduced by the manufacturer during different phases of the game? Also bet size. Can the manufacturer have at minimum bet the payback at 98%, but at Max bet the payback at 85% Statistically it appears to be so.
Why would they? He states very clearly in the video how it works: casinos keep a percentage of coin in. A 10% hold for a 3 quarter bet is $0.075 per play (on average) for the casino. 2% hold on a $100 single credit wager is $2.00 on average. The casino wants to encourage bigger wagers because it means more money exposed to the hold percentage.
I mention it because I've been keeping track of spins and events and the data clearly shows a difference that is significant. The machines that are available to me are not regulated by any gaming commission. I believe what you say only to the degree that they must follow the gaming commissions rules. @@4jp I can not tell you what I have found, but it is enough statistically to prove my case with an exception. I've had to use you tube videos to reference my data. This may not be enough to prove that the machines available to me are indeed tainted. Thank you for adding your thoughts to my post.
great info. Here's a question, you mentioned casino's like mgm, etc. those are with rgn's correct? So what about places like the ones that use lottery terminal slots. Up in NY there are several of these. You have to be 18 to gamble, not 21. Can they change the percentages at a local facility for an entire casino? When playing, the machines are paying like crazy, everyone seems to be hitting, all of a sudden no one is winning and the entire place seems to be taking. Just curious if these casino's rules apply like the real ones.
Wow great question , lottery terminals are usually not required to pay the same percentages as a normal slot and you will be playing at a huge disadvantage.
This is exactly what happens at Empire City Casino in Yonkers, NY. I don't, for a second, believe "nothing's reset". Best stategy....look for a bank where people are activly winning!
If a gamimg jurisdiction mandates a minimum payout of say, 90%, why on Earth would a Gaming Control Board be needed if the individual Casino wants to change a specific gaming machine's payout from 94% to 96% or 97% to 93%? All of these percentages are still well within statute, and, well within the Casino's right to choose.
The gaming control board just needs to be aware of any changes that take place. You are generally right though, these days the manufacturers build in the safe guards.
I have noticed that Encore Boston slowly swapped out lower to more high volatile machines after Covid regulations were discontinued. As of the last few months there has to be at least 100 new Fire Link machines. That's where the casino is increasing their revenue. Their low volatile machines that are left are still doing their thing as they did before.
Since casinos hate losing, and I'm referring to card counters which is not illegal but they make us think it is, are all slot payouts set at the lowest % or are there casinos that do set their slots at the highest or abouts to payout?
Hey guys. is the culinary union strike going on on Fremont the same situation (demands etc) as what happened on the strip? Searched around a bit but cant seem to find much info. Do find it odd that more people seem to be opposed to this strike for some reason.
Got a question and quote me if I'm wrong, but I thought that class 2 machines (tribal in particular) are configured on a server and aren't regulated. If that is the case, then are casinos that play off the bingo card system following the same rules in this video, or do they have the ability to self regulate their machines?
This IS a very good video because it opened up a huge discussion with many varying opinions and people’s personal experiences. People contributed their own work experience in this field as well as non-expert everyday joes. Thank goodness we humans still have independent thinking. There’s just so much AI generated channels these days.
Class 2 (bingo for example) are run on a central server because it's a bingo game. But, the same rules apply - they can not alter the payback % without regulatory entities present. Malfunctions to deny payouts are extremely rare - slot machines are built in anticipation of malfunctions so that it can preserve the integrety of the game at all times.
In my 40 years of running casinos , i bet there was 50 times where a machine malfunctioned and when corrected the patron was awarded a payout of some sort . The biggest was over $100,000, so it goes both ways.
Server-based machines have to be idle for a period of time before they change the payout... that's not completely true... I had a machine go dark on me... I was worried about I lost all my money... I called a slot attendant... she said the machine will come back up in about 4 minutes... sure enough I didn't lose any of my money.
So what is going on late night when you plan a machine and they tell you you have to stop playing and they close down the area and they go into the machines what is going on at that point

I sure want to believe what you just said about slots and not being able to easily change pay back percent, but please explain “must hit by.” At some point machine pays are not generated by an rng.
Many of these comments claim to “know” that casinos are able to affect whether a slot machine hits or not. Please provide some real evidence for what you’re saying. Limited observations of randomness (which, by definition, sometimes appears to not be random) aren’t proof of anything.
There will always be some people that believe something has to be going on behind the scenes no matter how it’s explained. I’m not one of those people and if I felt that way I’d stop coming.
They don't need to actively change it. It's all in the slot program including volatility manipulation. A master computer holds all the profit and loss info that the individual game programs use to adjust their volatility on the fly without a casino worker needing to do anything. As long as the game meets RTP over time, it can adjust the volatility and still use RNG in order to be legal. That's why you can play the same slot over and over for years and you will notice that sometimes it is high volatility and sometimes it's low within any given day. Prove that static volatility is a lie, and volatility manipulation is the biggest reason for winning and losing streaks, not a so-called "fair" RNG.
Volatility is built into the game design, it does not change - even with a payback % change. What you are describing is probability theory, which is how slots work.
Years ago, I had an uncle who was winning on a slot machine at a casino in Reno, Nevada. He discovered if you played the same machine for a set number of spins it would pay a hand pay. Several times he would go to that machine when going to that casino, and play the same machine. Winning a hand pay each time. Then he told his neighbor and drew a map of where the machine was in the casino. When his neighbor went to the casino she couldn't find the machine. When she told him she couldn't find it, he went back to Reno to that casino, and couldn't find it. He then told us the casino probably removed the machine after looking at their handpay log, and saw his name written down more than once. I had a similar experience at another casino in Reno. Then the machine suddenly disappeared.
One question I’ve always wanted to ask is are bonus total winnings predetermined before the bonus has even started? Or are each spin in the bonus randomly generated?
Generally speaking, in free games style bonus rounds, no, the end result of the free spins isn't predetermined. But, it's worth noting that a lot of games have a different set of "virtual reel stops" during the free games, which basically means you might get different things showing up on the reels (stacked symbols, multipliers, etc.). An example of a predetermined bonus would be Dancing Drums where you pick 3 to get the progressive.
No falling out at all! I still talk to Brantley all the time and we will work on projects in the future. I just wanted to persue my own project with Dave for a bit.
Our human brains try to rationalize our losses in less abstract ways. I think we feel better if we blame those losses on something other than random chance… But Marc is correct… there is no logical, mathematical, or monetary reason for casinos to change the payback percentage on slot machines. Even at say a 96% payback rate, 4% of the astronomical amount of money put into the slot machines goes directly to the casino. The casinos do just fine keeping their payback percentages constant.
I won ten grand last November at my local Indian casino 👍 went back in January thinking i was going to strike it rich 😅 but things didn't go my way and ended up losing a grand in about 6-7 hours lol.kind of does lead me to believe there is something fishy going on at these indian casinos..but one never really knows
Can you clarify your statement "It can take ten to 20 million spins to hit the jackpot." Would that mean for new games the chances are way lower for the random jackpot hit to occur? So it would be wiser to play older games? Thanks for the information.
Thanks for that great information guys. I've heard rumors about casinos that get fined for changing their payback percentage. Is this true or false. Thanks again, Great channel👍
One night at Tunica Miss. we watched a whole bank of slots hitting like crazy. Everyone was cleaning up. All of a sudden allmost all of the machines stopped hitting. Finally everyone got up and left. That seemed to be more than a turn of bad luck.
I was sitting next to a guy playing slots the other day and he kept saying that the manufacturer or creator of the slot machine presets the machine to give a jackpot at certain times after a certain number of spins. I told him it is all random and depends when the spin or handle is used. He then said it is random BUT it is still preset on when you will hit jackpots. UGH!
Yes, this is common practice for top line jackpots. They both check that the seal is still in tact (tamper proof tape) and also run machine diagnostics to ensure no tampering.
There is still an RNG involved. If the range is, for example, 9,000 to 10,000. As soon as the must pay amount is hit, the RNG will randomly pick a number within that range. Let's say, 9,457. As soon as the meter climbs to 9,457, the progressive is awarded, then it restarts and does the same thing again. It's not weighted, it's a random pick. This number is not known or available to anyone.
@@GambleSmart However, as that number is increasing closer to the “must win by” number, it will probably take forever to get there and thus people believing the visual will pump a lot of money into the machine hoping it will reach that number.

In fact some days the whole casino is winning and other days us slot players are complaining that we can't get a win. If every spin is independent, how can we explain this effect?
@@GambleSmart What do you mean? Fairly common that local establishments and bars can rig the slot machines. I know for a fact that they can. Two to three years down the road, it would become really bad.
Not all slot machines are server Based... casinos have a computer control room... they can change the payback percentage but not while the machine is in use... they can watch someone's play on a miniature screen.
It is true that they can watch someone’s play, and also track amount in and amount out. There is the capability to push changes down from a sever to a machine, but it still requires physical access to the machine and gaming commission present to accept the change pushed down to it.
Unless you were Donald Trump who lost a casino? The State regulates the win/loss ratios? The casino orders the Slot Machine from the State who in turn order from the Slot machine Manufacturer. Casinos make a ton on these so why screw with it.? A money maker!! Finally a fellow who tells it like it is!!!
The only thing the state or tribe regulates is the range of payouts that are available to the casino. However, the casino sets the payback % based on a few options provided by the game maker within that range. This is controlled by a Juristiction Chip in each machine. The state is just responsible for compliance and making sure the (very strict) rules are being followed.
You’re absolutely wrong. I have several friends who work fairly high up at casinos and they all tell me they have to pay out so much so often or they get fined. Guess what? When it’s the end of the year especially they set the machines to payout more. 😂🤦♂️
What a bunch of BS , sorry , i have the general manager of several Indian casinos and never was anything like this allowed to happen . First of all you could not do it. Adjustments in the hold percentage can only be done with the State Gaming Departments approval. They are not needed the slots will get your money that's why we call them no brainers , there are no pro slot players.
Casinos don't have to cheat on the slot machines. That's their biggest money makers. That's why you will see that there is 20 times more machines than table games.
Do you have a link to an article or documentation you can share? I do not have many details on Washington State gaming and my searches are not coming up with this info.
Most online casinos are set up offshore and are unregulated. You absolutely should be worried about them. The only ones that aren't are the familiar names (Caesars, MGM, etc.). They only operate online in states where online gambling is legal and they follow state regulations to operate there.
The Casino has no control over the Machine because they don’t own the Slot machine, They are leased and also have to pay royalties aswell if it’s related to a Movie , The Gaming commission has set rules to the Casino,s responsibility but and its a BIG BUT the Manufacturers servers are outside of the USA . So the gaming commission can’t act against them, Every slot machine these days have Internet access like a Mobile phone does, 4G and 5G they can change the Payout at anytime,
Just because they have internet access doesn't automatically translate to being able to change the payout anytime. Everyone always leaps to that conculsion.
@@GambleSmart Yes it does as all machines are 4G or 5G enabled so instant access is available 24/7 … They use the same iOS software as a Mobile Phone … Its how they read Customer Loyalty Cards also to install loyalty points on the cards … The same software thats used to pay for products by a Phone app… Its also the reason to never sign up for one in the first place, As it collects DATA on how much you play and Win, So please tell me how they do all that otherwise.. The edminson Team introduced the system and the Ticket system . DUH 🙄 It sees how much you have won over time and adjust to a slow loss payout. All these things are done so the Casino has a edge over its customers,

Yes, class 2 is a little different because of the regulations around bingo games.
I totally believe you. Thanks
@@GambleSmart
Are you saying yes that he's correct about them changing the % up and down on some class 2 bingo games on certain days?
I believe Indian casinos cheat too
The sound of the screaming woman is a taped recording. All Indian casinos play it to fool people to believe that someone won a jackpot.

Seems strange, but nothing nefarious is going on there.
Going to the casino for years I have noticed the exact same thing. Seemingly not a bonus in the building going off for an hour plus then all of a sudden within a 2-3 minute window you will hear every slot in the building going off. Happens way too often to be coincidence, and I'll never be convinced otherwise
And reels skip. No reels are supposed to skip. I'm not taking about red screen or reel screen machines I'm talking about lock it links style machines.

I don't use a slot club card. My reasoning is the less casinos know about me the better. And I don't want a slot club card or my info used against me.

Everything you said is completely false.

Curious to know if a casino needs approval (from the commission or whoever) just to simply move the machine around. 🤔
Nope - they can move it without approval. Just can’t change the programming.
Can't thank u enough for this info ! 👍
sounds all good BUT i feel when its busy the machines pay out more frequently. One other question is why do the casinos always move machines around the casino floor, when a machine is moved i see the jackpots are reset🤔🤔
They move them because sometimes they don’t get enough play! Of course when more people play you’re going to see more payouts! Don’t believe the myths!
Great tip! Have a great weekend.
Newer games seem to have eliminated or at least scaled way back the frequency of random bonus wins. Now those games only hit with 6 or even 8 of the same symbols or 3 of the special symbols.
I play for the enjoyment but it’s getting harder to find those kinds of machines with the extras.

I've seen slots that advertised - must hit by $5000.00- how does that work?
Those are must-win by progressives. They will grow over time based on the amount of coin in put into the machine. Whenever the progressive is hit and it resets, the slot machine will randomly pick a number within the range of the progressive. Example, if the range is 4,000 to 5,000, it will pick a number between that. Once the progressive meter hits that number, the progressive is awarded and the process repeats.
Thank you for answering- I always wondered how it worked!
Of course! Thanks for watching :)
Suit thyself, people.😂
The casino politely grinned , welcome, come back again, will yeah..😅
I had Chinese food tonight. I was told if my bingo card shows the fortune cookie numbers, I would get a hand pay!🤣

I wonder that too
Why would they? He states very clearly in the video how it works: casinos keep a percentage of coin in. A 10% hold for a 3 quarter bet is $0.075 per play (on average) for the casino. 2% hold on a $100 single credit wager is $2.00 on average. The casino wants to encourage bigger wagers because it means more money exposed to the hold percentage.
I mention it because I've been keeping track of spins and events and the data clearly shows a difference that is significant.

What Gaming Commission regulates Indian Casinos in the state of California ?
If a gamimg jurisdiction mandates a minimum payout of say, 90%, why on Earth would a Gaming Control Board be needed if the individual Casino wants to change a specific gaming machine's payout from 94% to 96% or 97% to 93%? All of these percentages are still well within statute, and, well within the Casino's right to choose.
The gaming control board just needs to be aware of any changes that take place. You are generally right though, these days the manufacturers build in the safe guards.

Got a question and quote me if I'm wrong, but I thought that class 2 machines (tribal in particular) are configured on a server and aren't regulated.
If that is the case, then are casinos that play off the bingo card system following the same rules in this video, or do they have the ability to self regulate their machines?
They can’t self regulate payouts, but class 2 machines are server based since it is a community game of bingo.
This IS a very good video because it opened up a huge discussion with many varying opinions and people’s personal experiences.
People contributed their own work experience in this field as well as non-expert everyday joes.
Thank goodness we humans still have independent thinking. There’s just so much AI generated channels these days.
What about the class 2 machines? How are those determined to payout and how can the casino claim a “malfunction” to not payout?
This is usually required 3 times a day , once for each shift and when machines get filled with bills . Normal getting the readings for the shift.

It's a wives tale - machines were never able to be predictable like that. :)
@@GambleSmartwives' tale
A wise tale would be the opposite.
Sorry sir cant happen , funny story though amusing
Jodi reminded me of this too LOL
One question I’ve always wanted to ask is are bonus total winnings predetermined before the bonus has even started? Or are each spin in the bonus randomly generated?
Generally speaking, in free games style bonus rounds, no, the end result of the free spins isn't predetermined. But, it's worth noting that a lot of games have a different set of "virtual reel stops" during the free games, which basically means you might get different things showing up on the reels (stacked symbols, multipliers, etc.). An example of a predetermined bonus would be Dancing Drums where you pick 3 to get the progressive.
@@GambleSmart thank you
I always said on certain days/hours, that a machine will pay-out,....I wonder if (Tribal-Owned) have different rules with slots...?
Slots just don’t have that capability, regardless of jurisdiction.
Great video!
Mark it’s good to see you out there. What happened to you and Cowboy Slots? Did you guys have a falling out?
No falling out at all! I still talk to Brantley all the time and we will work on projects in the future. I just wanted to persue my own project with Dave for a bit.
Our human brains try to rationalize our losses in less abstract ways. I think we feel better if we blame those losses on something other than random chance…
But Marc is correct… there is no logical, mathematical, or monetary reason for casinos to change the payback percentage on slot machines.
Is the payouts the same in the smaller Winstar owned casinos.
We don't know for sure as they don't publish. Most casinos are fairly comperable though.
Can you clarify your statement "It can take ten to 20 million spins to hit the jackpot." Would that mean for new games the chances are way lower for the random jackpot hit to occur? So it would be wiser to play older games? Thanks for the information.
I dont think that is what he meant. It 'can take' does not mean it 'will take'.
Thanks for that great information guys. I've heard rumors about casinos that get fined for changing their payback percentage. Is this true or false. Thanks again, Great channel👍
They get fined for not following regulations but they cannot change the machines without gaming!
I live in Pennsylvania. I have 2 by my house. And no one hits a jackpot.never. they just let you win smaller ones.
How do you personally know that nobody hits a jackpot? Are you there 24/7?
When they have slot tournaments, the machines are looser than ever, so yes casinos can set machines like they want
Tournament mode is a setting on most slot machines , it does not affect regular game play.
Sure does, I work at the bellagio for 30 years
I have had that same thought.
One night at Tunica Miss. we watched a whole bank of slots hitting like crazy. Everyone was cleaning up. All of a sudden allmost all of the machines stopped hitting.
Finally everyone got up and left. That seemed to be more than a turn of bad luck.
@@Saved9491
See, so many very similar comments to yours. Yet this channel continues to deny it.
UGH!
Thanks for working to dispel the myths!
That's right, the software calculates what it can give back or not
I hit for a big payout once.....and they had to (re-seal) the inside of the machine in order to clear it...(?)
Yes, this is common practice for top line jackpots. They both check that the seal is still in tact (tamper proof tape) and also run machine diagnostics to ensure no tampering.
Then how do you explain a must pay by machine
There is still an RNG involved. If the range is, for example, 9,000 to 10,000. As soon as the must pay amount is hit, the RNG will randomly pick a number within that range. Let's say, 9,457. As soon as the meter climbs to 9,457, the progressive is awarded, then it restarts and does the same thing again. It's not weighted, it's a random pick. This number is not known or available to anyone.
@@GambleSmart
However, as that number is increasing closer to the “must win by” number, it will probably take forever to get there and thus people believing the visual will pump a lot of money into the machine hoping it will reach that number.
Can they set each denom to payout the least percentage?
Yes, many casinos do. With the lowest denomination taking the highest percentage . In the long run the $1 machine is the cheapest to play.
Tribes can make their own rules as they can "investigate themselves" and find no wrong doing. No thank you. I'll stick to real gaming commissions.
Wrong they are controlled by a very strict state gaming departments.
@@michaelbyrne5469you are wrong, tribal casinos are self governing. Try filing a complaint against them.
@@michaelbyrne5469 Oklahoma does not have a central licensing process for gaming vendors. Under the Tribal-State Compacts, vendor licensing is done by the individual Tribes/Nations. Prospective vendors should contact the Tribes for their specific requirements.
Can the machine correct its own payback percentage to win more often it has been loosing a lot ?
No. What you are describing is "active balancing". That's not how slot machines work. Each spin is independant of past results.
@@GambleSmartthank you for the reply and answering exactly what I meant. The thing is sometimes it feels as if the slot/and or certain dominations of the slot is giving more wins. In fact some days the whole casino is winning and other days us slot players are complaining that we can't get a win. If every spin is independent, how can we explain this effect?
Can you say something about slot machines in bars and other local establishments?
Depends on where you are located. Fairly common in IL for example.
@@GambleSmart What do you mean? Fairly common that local establishments and bars can rig the slot machines. I know for a fact that they can. I've been going to one place for nearly 8 years, and I can see the transition from when the machine was recently put there and how well it would hit. Two to three years down the road, it would become really bad.
I have watch the winning percentage get dropped and machines get turned back on ? Anyone else i also believe the track your gambling habbits thew card
Nice vid. Can Casinos set Player Cards to W/L whenever they want?
no
But can the chip be pre-programmed out of the factory?
The only thing that can be set outside of the factory is denomination, bet sizes and payback %. Nobody can change how the game plays.
can they put a 20 game brain into a 5 line game
Good luck at Wynns 👍
You’re absolutely wrong. I have several friends who work fairly high up at casinos and they all tell me they have to pay out so much so often or they get fined. Guess what? When it’s the end of the year especially they set the machines to payout more. 😂🤦♂️
What a bunch of BS , sorry , i have the general manager of several Indian casinos and never was anything like this allowed to happen . First of all you could not do it. Adjustments in the hold percentage can only be done with the State Gaming Departments approval. They are not needed the slots will get your money that's why we call them no brainers , there are no pro slot players.
@@michaelbyrne5469
Well, how do you explain all these slot channels and their humongous wins?
Casinos don't have to cheat on the slot machines. That's their biggest money makers. That's why you will see that there is 20 times more machines than table games.
You are 100% correct.
Same with roulette. People whine about 'rigged wheels'. If a casino was caught doing that, it would DESTROY the game for them.
Well how does Washington state...pay less then they have too? They pay a fine that saves them money. Straight bs!!!!
Do you have a link to an article or documentation you can share? I do not have many details on Washington State gaming and my searches are not coming up with this info.
U haven't been 2 Casino Rama the worst in Canada ! 😮
I'm worried about all these online casinos. I don't think they are being very fair
Most online casinos are set up offshore and are unregulated. You absolutely should be worried about them. The only ones that aren't are the familiar names (Caesars, MGM, etc.). They only operate online in states where online gambling is legal and they follow state regulations to operate there.
Of course they are not. If you dont like money keep playing them.
All these things are done so the Casino has a edge over its customers,
Just saw a great documentary on facial recognition and its impact on society. Just check out what the UK and Chinese governments are doing. AI is and will be the destruction of all simple things. It's a no-win proposition in the long run for slot players. Life and living are a mathematical equation. He who controls the numbers controls the game.
