    Tom that is the power valve... Accelerator pump is behind the bowl... The Holley 1920 is an excellent little piece of work. I still drive one almost every day in my "Daily" 67 Valiant Signet 4 Door.

    Have a soft spot for these - back in ‘67 my sister bought a ‘64 Signet 200 convert: medium blue with black buckets and top, 170 with a three speed and no power anything. Later I did a bunch of rust repair on the rear quarters for her and learned that fiberglass will crack when the bumper jack is used if you are stingy with the ‘glass mat. That’s a nice strong looking example you got there - might be Dart buckets under those covers from the wear patterns.

      64 valiant is my fav of the early A’s. Like the grill, tail lights, still has push button, like the dash better.

      @@rocketresto I have a 63 but the 65 is my favorite. No hair pin on the front fenders, the grille is nicely detailed. The 66 doesn't even chart. All the delicate and interesting details have been eliminated. I wouldn't kick one out of my driveway though.
      Those taillights on the 64-65 are so beautifully realized and very much like those on the Imperial, post fin era. It's a toss up between the 64's back up light shape or the 65's, they are equally pieces of art just on their own.
      However I never appreciated the 63 as much as after watching DDG do a 63 Signet styling summary and seeing it driving around. A whole new way to see it and I've had mine for 40 years now. It stands on it's own.

  • @DaveGreg100
    @DaveGreg100 6 місяців тому

    How frigging cool is this? I have a 63 Signet 2 door hardtop. Just radio heater and probably whitewalls from the start. Barren. 3 speed on the column, no power steering or boosted brakes.
    But it did have a driver's side rear view mirror. Could have been aftermarket.
    This was a treat.
    Did you switch ends on the valve cover after swapping the pushrods? Usually the PCV is toward the firewall. Regardless, something I never thought about or even if you could do it. A good thing to know. Or a bit of trivia I will never forget.
    Thanks for this. I love the A Bodies.
    My own I drove down to Patagonia AZ and back yesterday. Time tripping. Suddenly it's 1963!
    Looking forward to more of your videos and DDG's.

    Yay!!! Road trip. For years I didn't like early a bodies. Especially the earlier "Road Toads". But as the years have passed I have begun to see a certain charm in their homely countenance. It's kinda like the homely dog that wins you with his loyalty and personality. Ya can't help but love him. Love the idea of baby hemis in these, although the slant has its own quirky goodness. Anyway a fun video and good entertainment. Thanks Tom.

    In 1969, I bought a 64 Valiant Signate 200 coupe without it's engine. It was metallic light blue, white vinyl top, Hurst 4 speed, bucket seats, carpeted floors....but never knew which of the offered engines, 225 six or 273 V8 it had. I put a rebuilt 170 in from a Dart. It was my very first car!
