Love your berry dump cake! My mom made them all the time. She used an 11x13 glass pan, two cans of any kind of fruit in syrup (not pie filling) - peach/cherry/fruit cocktail/pineapple were the most common ones she'd use, sprinkled the cake mix (yellow cake is really good with it), 1 stick sliced butter. Because of the 11x13 pan, the cake mix was thinner and the fruit juices flowed up and over the cake mix and the cake was golden and crispy on top. She never covered the cake with foil. It was more like a fruit crisp, rather than a cobbler. Really good!
