Integrating Water Meters into Home Assistant - AI on the Edge

Integrating Water Meters, Electric Meters, or Gas Meters into Home Assistant can be a challenge, especially if they don't have a digital interface. In this video, I show you an affordable way to achieve this using a camera and the ESP32.
I’ll demonstrate how I optimized my Smart Home automation with AI on the Edge and Home Assistant. I will show you how I installed AI on the Edge on an ESP32 or Arduino and used it to automatically read the water meter reading and send it to Home Assistant. You’ll see how easy it is to take a photo of the meter, recognize the values, and process them. With this technology, I always keep track of how much water and electricity I consume and can take action to save if necessary.
