This composition is one of the pieces marking ''resolution'' of year long intentful changes practiced and implemented.
I have been wanting to compose a more folk-like song for around 6 months now. I also knew I was in no rush in inviting one to come to me, so I patiently waited for music and muse to arrange themselves in good time.
The idea for lyrics came first and was done about couple of months ago whilst I was having a writing session in my home studio. I was so smitten with the transformational story narrative. The idea of melting down to nothingness that gets soaked up by the forest floor to be held in nurturing hibernation while the seasons change were an experience I actually was longing for. This yearning for being held in peace whilst life occur to me is happiness. I suppose I am a little tired from the changes that my life has moved me through.
Melody is a recent development. I used a very similar formulation in my previous work but through production I ended up forming a variation that gave a completely different mood. Like with any of my live recordings, I wanted the instrument to be a light addition to the vocal interplay.
There is something very vulnerable and raw to this recording. I allowed that.
My dream is to have this song to be sung with an audience of mine as I end a gig. I imagine it to be an a Capella folk song with echoes bouncing off walls surrounding us all around in transformational vows of surrender.
