- Danielle The Snake Lady has come to my house in the desert and removed several rattlesnakes....she has no fear... she's a bad ass and knows a lot about them desert monsters so I had to have her on the pod.
Growing up in the Appalachian mountains, rattlesnakes have the best manners. They let you know when you're too close and give you time to move away from their spot. It's the cotton mouth/water moccasins that are the assholes of the snake world, where I'm from. They will drop out of trees when you're in a creek/river, and literally swim after you just to fuck you up. We also have copperheads, which are sweet babies, but venomous. I grew up swimming in creeks and rivers, and experienced so many copperheads literally swimming within inches of me while I'm swimming.

If you are hiking or generally in a place that is known to have snakes . Just watch where you are walking, if you are taking in the scenery be sure to stop and survey the area first. Snakes do not pursue and try to attack ,it is a defense only. Leave the area slowly and calmly , snakes can't really see or hear you so they are more scared than you are. Rattle is not necessarily slow and definitive they can also sound like a gas leak, so if you are like..there's no gas lines out here are there?..probably not. Share the world , let's try not to kill everything that you think is a threat.
