hey! yea, so this hand was like the first one after sitting down so i wasn't on my A game in terms of filming and taking notes. it's really hard to multitask between table talk, filming, notes, live streaming on tik tok, etc. i remember that he beat me with a straight but wasn't sure which one, clearly he won the pot because he snap called and the chips were pushed to him. i guess 67 doesnt make sense becuase he should be raising with that on river, so i guess it was either A2 or 26. most likely A2 because i raised to 12 pre. sorry about that, hope this explanation makes sense lol
Ok no worries I assumed maybe your were off and flush came in on top of straight. Either way if I'm the guy with a2 or 62 suited seems like a clear raise cause ur not going to have a straight there. But than again I guess some people might raise 76 pre. Either way thanks for taking time to make vlogs
In cash games I have flopped two Royals, first one was Hearts, second one was Clubs and I hit a Royal in a tournament with one card in my hands, Spades. Fun to do.
Like the Avengers move with the 2 5 flush. Good get back. Not to mention priceless information about table tactics people have. That bluffer need an academy award. ☺️ Nice call on that one Wolfgang. 🥃 And man you look tired after this session. 💤
I've had seven royals. One flopped, one turned, the rest rivered. Fortunately many of them were in rooms with a monte carlo board where I was paid a jackpot, the lowest for $700 and the biggest for $3900. It's an incredible thrill!
I've made 15 Royal flushes in 25 years. I flopped one in an Omaha game. I have 2 on PokerStars. I've won money in 4 bad beat jackpots and I had the losing hand with quad sevens in one of those. Unfortunately it was only $1,600 and I got 50%. It was no limit Hold'em and I lost the pot so the guy who beat me in the hand almost made as much as I did. And here's what's really weird. They made me put that $800 into live play in the game. After playing two hands I told them that I didn't feel that was right and argued the point and told them that I didn't want to do that and they told me that I was done playing and asked me to leave.
I've had 8 in my career spanning about 15 years now, including 3 in the last year and a half. One of them I hit it on the river and 3 people shoved all in on me as I was trying to wipe the drool off my chin. (two guys boated up and one had a smaller flush). Other than that it's very hard to get paid when you have one as usually no one else has anything.
This happened to me for two of my royals - other players had sets and just went berserk, and I was very happy to collect all their very charitable, very benevolent donations!
I got a royal flush at Caesar's palace last month the same way you did, king of diamonds on the river! I had 10/Q diamonds and two callers but go figure there was no high hand bonus! XD
Here's something that's probably far more rare. I used to play at a casino in California about 100 hours per month or more. The jackpot was hit four times in eight days and I was there for three of them. Sunday Tuesday Thursday and Sunday. All in the same week. The first time was $98,000 and there were 51 people in the room, of which 49 got room share. After the first one it dropped down to the backup jackpot which I want to say was around $30,000 and then after that I believe it dropped to a starting figure of $10,000 for the last two.
Hey - good content, good discussion, and Ethan's absolutely right about check-raising as preflop aggressor. Just lead out like you normally would and go for it. Also, when you flopped the 5-high flush - great lead, because people will be inelastic about calling with big singleton trumps. When the villain raises, you should 3-bet every time. He's doing that frequently with the nut singleton trump (Kh in this case, I think) or maybe even something like top pair or two pair that wants to charge singletons. As you saw, he checked behind on the turn, which is a catastrophe if he has a big singleton trump. Playing out of position is really hard, so you have to be more honest and straightforward, e.g. when you flop a monster, get chips in the pot asap. Two meta-points: 1. That same villain, there's a hand where you bet the river, he calls with worse, and you flip your hand over before he's slid his chips out. I don't know if he said the word "call" or not, but even if he did, I'd wait until you see the chips pushed forward. If he sees your hand and says "I didn't say call," then it's just a giant mess. 2. When you turned quads and the woman shoved on you, I think it's polite to just snap call, turn your cards up and say "I have quads." You know you have the nuts - no reason to prolong the agony for her. Since your camera died I dunno if you did that or not. But now that you're a powerful "influencer" in the poker world, you want to set a standard for good table etiquette. Keep up the great work.

Have had 3 royals in hold em over 15 years and 3 in plo which I have only been playing for a year. The 52 flush out of the bb. The opponent expected you to be leading an Ace not a flush. Most Flushes check in flow, likely the opponent isn't thinking of this as a free check limp since he had to put money in. Very possible and probable that he was discouraging any aggression but he wasn't necessarily bluffing. If you had a better Ace that didn't raise or bet more then his two pair is probably good. If I'm playing online against regs who are going to 3-bet or fold unless they have the button, those 3-bet ranges are wide enough to have a cold 4-bet bluffing range and I think Aqo and Ajo make good cold 4-bet bluffs because of their blockers and the fact that if you flat anything in this configuration, the intial raiser can 4-bet his entire range and there's not much either of you can do about it. So, since you would have to fold those hands otherwise, might as well turn them into bluffs. You can get UTG to muck 99 and such outcomes.
