Idaho is awesome. I never thought of Idaho as a hot spring location before watching this. I really enjoyed this video. Great people, great places, hot water, cold ice and wonderful music 🎶. SOLD
Our last family trip began at Hot Creek Canyon on 1972, when you could spend all night in the Hot Springs. I was 12, so I got out about 1:00. In that canyon by moonlight, it’s hard to describe. It rumbled, the water tumbled, it was pure magic.
So cool. I've really been wanting to explore Idaho more, I feel like it gets overlooked in the US but has so many hidden gems like these hot springs I'd never heard of before this video!
I've found that trails to hot springs are packed down, so snowshoes aren't required. But traction (yaktrax, microspikes, etc.) are highly recommended. There are more springs which don't see much action and can be clothing optional. Thus a solution to the wet bathing suit conundrum.
Yeah Stanley is frequently the coldest town in the US with many days in the negatives. Fun tour of Idaho hot springs! I’ve been to most of those but not to goldbug. Idaho is rich is geothermal activity so there are a lot of them to explore.
@@Bemytravelmuse i went there when the air temp was 100+ degrees for my first time and it was awesome. The cold stream along the hike provided a great way to stay cool when getting up there, the 75 degree small pools with the waterfalls below the hot pools were an amazing place to relax while the sun went down and I could get into the warmer pools. I never would have thought id go to a hot spring to cool off. :)
Fantastic video... Hot springing is wonderful and may I suggest a romantic slow dance as the water warms you up could be good. Which were your favorite?
You should check out Vulcan hot spring next time near Cascade. Its hard to find the trail off the forest road, but its only about half a mile long. Its too bad Molly's tubs near there got taken out.
I love it! We did a family trip out to Idaho for the solar eclipse in 2017, and on the day of the eclipse we hit up Goldbug Hot Springs in the afternoon. It is collectively referred to by myself, wife and son as one of the best days ever. Can't wait to get back. Which one was your fave?
In your opinion... what natural hot spring (not in jacuzzi) in the Idaho area was easy to get to (no hiking). My friend and I want to go there but are not used to hiking/ would prefer not to have to go far from the car lol. Any advice would be helpful so we can figure out where we want to stay in Idaho. ♡ also what time of the year did you two go? We would like it to be cold/snowing.
@@Bemytravelmuse if you drive up the Warm Springs Guard Station Road to the end of the air strip it cuts the distance in half, but it's still a shorter hike than Goldbug.
& this is how these places get exploited & no longer clean & sacred. The reason why you got mixed signals from Idaho City is they don't want this to get out to the world. Now I know why I'm picking up more trash. Videos like this have thousands of views. Bringing anyone and everyone over. Wish this stayed in books and not a Google search.
I hear you, and it's tricky, but nature is for everyone and I'm sharing springs in state parks, none of which are necessarily a secret. When I find one that's truly wild and in the middle of nowhere, I don't share. The world population has exploded since we were younger and all these natural places were secret, but people have kids, towns and cities grow, and information is more readily shared, whether by me or any source, and I do my best to educate people to leave no trace in what I share, so I stand by it.
Well I hear you garren....everybody has a camera these days and a need to share. Though I could do it I just don't. That's where "sacred" comes in. The old days before smart phones were so much better.
Nix the stupid music. I used to hot springs around. Now there is just too many people. I've got great vhs tapes all losing their color. It's hard to get fully immersed in the experience when your shooting.
David is speaking the truth, we have many lions and tigers and bears that love to dine on out-of-towners, so for your own safety stay away, buy a jacuzzi instead!

That's awesome to hear! I've been spending more time discovering the US and so far, I am really happy with what I've found. :)
I love Idaho! Stanley is a great drive from Boise. Thanks for keeping an eye on Mr Masshole

My pleasure!
U missed one coming down from kirkam to boise

All good advice
Awesome teamwork you two🥳
Thank you 😁
Awesome video 👌🏽
Love this and the gift of beer! I just posted one of Burgdorf, an old Mining town just outside McCall, ID. We rented snowmobiles and went up. So fun!
Yeah i mean, not a bad gift I suppose.
Thank you so much for the Info
What’s the background music? As a frequenter of Goldbug I, glad you enjoyed the hike, I love going in the winter only it’s so beautiful!
I think I used like 5 songs lol

Ready for a swim
I live Germany and I love that kind of life
As being from Coeur d’Alene I feel very appreciated right now
Two times in the last month ive went to hit up all the hot springs from Salmon, ID to Stanley, ID.
Buy I get to Gold Bug and never leave. :)
Can’t blame you!

A+ for the Batman bathing suit 😍
Lol thanks!
Whoa ! That's private option about a minute in !! I am so SOLD on going there now !!

That sounds magical. I loved Kirkham the most.
@@BemytravelmuseThanks. My youngest didn't get to go because she was only 2 at the time but now we have an excuse to head back!
Did you go in March or did you post this later? Looks so beautiful!
It was February actually.
A thumbs up for a winter swim suit video

No hiking required to almost all of these except for the last one. This was in February:)
@@Bemytravelmuse ok, cool- thank you ♡
Did you do all this without 4x4? Couldn't tell if the truck was 4wd. We are doing this trip in a month
The truck is a 4wd but without snow you'd be just fine.
@@Bemytravelmuse cool thanks. Hoping the roads are a clear in a month. Great vid and thanks for the tips!
Yup Goldbug!
how long is the snow hike to get to the springs of kirkham springs?
Super quick and easy. Like 5 minutes
Are there any pet friendly hot springs?
I brought Buddy to kirkham!
You drove right past Bonneville and didn't stop?
That's a loooooong hike in the snow! They don't clear the road in the winter. I went in the summer though and I love that one too.

@@mojomike3913 Good to know thank you!
Wish she had given more info on temperature etc
They were all HOT
Can you camp in this area???
You can at Kirkham with a reservation. It's a state park :)

Dont do to red fish lake otreis has less people but you have to pay to park

lol
... u 2 have "it".
Let yourself believe this is the best. lol. We have 250+. This is ok. But there’s far better (gotta work for it though). And remember, #nakedisnatural
Idaho city was once the biggest cities in Idaho at one point. ;)
Is it possible to bathe nude? Thanks
In some of them, like Goldbug, yes. I think in the state parks probably not.
Stay out of Idaho it is dangerous.
David Howell no it’s not. California is
