I have always loved steampunk and dirigibles, and I have to say this looks absolutely phenomenal and right up my alley. The way the storm changed the ocean and the stunning vistas. It's very beautiful

I’m personally so excited to team up with pirates! Their theme music is my personal favourite. Later in the game are you able to ally with other factions such as the Mancer order or the Imperium?

You should they are fun and there is so much faction personality. Pirates (at least to me) seem to have more combat capability, faster lighter units and more missiles for hitting fast moving targets. The imperium is more heavy guns that are better against ships/forts. I haven't played much mancer yet. Dev am I correct about this or is this just my headcanon? lol

Please buy this game or try the demo, I cannot rave about it enough. Falconeer dev, you are a game design genius. I think this game will sell well and over the next few years will build a serious following. If you keep going, I hope in the future this game will be remembered like original simcity, as there really hasn't been anything I've seen except this game that doesn't copy SimCity (and is fun). The mechanics are literally simcity pulled inside out, yet working flawlessly. This game somehow captures that feeling of playing simcity for the first time as a kid. I have become really bored with modern video games as they are mostly repetitive tropes strung together with no real reason to do anything besides a dopamine hit. This game turns that on its head, as there really isnt an in game reason to do anything (at first), but the sheer awesomeness of the building system creates an insatiable desire to expand, if only to see what happens. To top it all off, since it runs mostly on graphics there is no CPU lag! A massive massive plus for any city building enthusiast.
My only nitpick is, I do want to see a bit more variety in the little civilian buildings. Maybe some big churches, market squares, or factories that grow in with iron, somebody else suggested hanging gardens or conservatories which would be amazing! But the game is so fun tbh its not a big deal as there is plenty to do in the game. My only real complaint is I do want to see more/ random maps, more islands, more secrets built into the map instead of just random spawns. Exploration is the only part that needs more in my opinion.
Edit: I want to add in one more positive, every creative choice actually matters. The size and makeup of your bulwarks actually affects how much health, attack and influence they make! I love how your creativity matters, but you also have a ton of freedom. It's my favorite thing about the game!
I heard you made many of the assets for a previous game, if so, you are very business savvy as I think this game will make good money and you've developed it wisely. I hope you have a promising career as you are smart and very talented! This is the most creative and fun thing I've played in years. Dev you have brought back my love of videogames and I thank you!

More variety in buildings is one of the regular content drops I wanna do the coming months. It's relaxing to make and quick to add.
If you haven't left s review on steam please do so. Cuz I love the SimCity pulled inside out analogy. It's a wonderful understanding of what I've been trying to achieve

game looks beautiful. Would love if you could hear more of the natural world though. The sounds of crashing water on rocks or the passing of segals and other birds.

work on sound fx and music hasn't officially started ;) there is some surf and other sounds legacy from the falconeer but their distances are still geared to a 3rd person air combat game ;)

(IMO) In terms of the UI - I would recommend making the on screen text smaller and more colocated with the NPC who's talking. It's quite distracting and takes up a lot of screen space at the bottom, when I think the focus should be on the absolutely breathtaking buildings and landscape. Since the NPC is voicing the text anyway, its good to have for accessibility, but it doesn't need the prominence. Doing this will better immerse players in the builder feeling.

There is a ui scale setting. I usually turn it up to max for video ,someone once mentioned the BBC subtitles rules and how big text needs to be to be universal. So I try to do that for video.
For pc games it can go down a lot lot lower already
