just bought this but deeply regretting it already. First product from Presonus, and all we are asking it to do is record audiobooks. One in the booth, one at the desk, and all audio captured into a 2018 MBP. Should be so simple. But no - this thing has been a nitemare to get working. UGH. After hours of messing around with settings, wondering why so many issues. Had to turn on Low Latency Mode (lol - it's TB3 capable we are lead to believe), turn off all three (Apple only) plugins (EQ, Compression, AdLimit) in the input channel strip, and turn on Input Monitoring. What decides the routing of signal to and from the unit? One would think its the "Universal Control" app (similar to "Mix Control" for Focusrite units). Alas, the "Universal Control" app appears (when compared to other's reviews on YT) to be missing the knobs and control objects. 2X Ugh! Ready to ditch this thing and just spring for a Apollo X6, which does three things better then the 2626: 1. very solid input power supply connector (the 2626 has a wimpy connector and an inline module, and no twist lock! UGH!), the 2626 has its on/off switch in the back (UGH!), and mic inputs in the front (bad design). Guess you nearly always get what you pay for. I cannot recommend this unit to any, but if we keep it, there must be a way to get our (physical) talkback mic to work! How the h do you get two mics working with this thing? This should be so simple!

I have not had issues with recording 2 tracks at the same time. It works for me. Maybe you got a bad unit

you don't need eight inputs or Thunderbolt 3 for audio books...LOL. looks like you need basic interface. This unit is minimally designed for multiple inputs (like recording live drums) Also there is no DSP. I had Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 and although really nice, the mixing software was a nightmare. It stopped working with my old outdated Mac OS Catalina 10.5. I'm now using IMAC 27 (2020) with Big Sur 11.6 so needed economy multiple input interface using the newest Thunderbolt 3 for 'music production'. You basically enable multiple track recording inside your DAW, not thru the mixing software.

@@johnkonstantine9115 we are also doing original ambient and melodic tracks to go into our audiobooks. We dumped the Presonus, agreed it was overkill for our needs, now have the SSL 2+ and love it

I purchased Quantum2626 - but am about to send it back - .... one thing that my firewood does - that the Quantum doesn't - is response to my Mac keyboard UP/Down & mute buttons .... Do you know anything about this ? I love being able to just reach over and turn down main volume output by using my Mac keyboard.....
