The weekend is here! Luke gets Ellen to draw a rodent-like Kobold using only yes/no clues, and compose an epic poem for the show. Plus Leggle Marvos, your comments, bloops and much more. Enjoy!
Nice poem, but nothing can compare to: *Show of the weekend Show of the weekend Show of the weekend Show of the weekend Show of the weekend Show of the weekend Show of the week-....end*
Gather round and hear the tale, Of Outside Extra who never fail, To coax a smile and raise a laugh (especially when they make a gaffe). Luke is tall - rather gangly, Knows a lot about dinosaurs and he, Knows all about boats and ships, He introduces gaming clips, In episodes with ranked opinions, Like hardest boss or cutest minions. Ellen is on the shorter side, And she never fails to hide, Her amusement at Luke's expressions, She also teaches him valuable lessons, Like questions with a secret answer, Called Ellenings - a quiz enhancer. Lets not forget Ellen's love of cats, And Luke's liking for ridiculous hats, The outlook would be rather bleak, If they weren't on every week, and cameos from Jane, Mike and Andy, Help fill in the gaps - rather handy, So keep making videos we all can stream, Thank you - all of you - OX team.
Ellen and Luke switching places gave us a brief glimpse into the alternate universe of Inside Fewer, where Alan and Lucy discuss the latest tabletop board games
I don’t think Ellen can take anything seriously considering how much laughing she does, but it’s okay she has the best laugh ever it always brightens my day
Luke's murloc impression is very good. Too good! Luke is just six murlocs with clothes and copious makeup! I knew it! It explains his height! Quick, before he calls in more, they'll charge us all! We're doomed unless we unite!
So, the pronunciation of "catacombs" that you heard in the Hearthstone song is the US pronunciation. This is obviously different that the UK pronunciation of that word. The Cambridge Dictionary website shows the two pronunciations side by side, if you're at all interested. In the US, we pronounce "comb" with a long "o" sound, not a "u" or "oo" sound. This carries over to our pronunciation of "catacomb." So, at the end of the day, just a different way of saying the same word. Yet another way that we deviated from England after the divorce (aka, the revolutionary war).
Spider-Man was a lot of fun to play in Disney Infinity too. I remember one time when my brother and I played the Toybox Takeover game and we got to a section with some disappearing platforms. He told me about how we have to be quick to jump off them before they disappear, to which I replied, "That's nice." and started web swinging my way across.
I never thought i would hear Mathew Mercer's voice in Show of the weekend, but I'm always excited to see my interests overlap like that. Like when Ellen wears her Sip's shirts and such.
The rising Sun makes The sky appear fire paved Ellen and Luke deliever The show we craved Angels will sing thee To thy rest Because you guys are the best
Has anyone managed to translate Ellen's interpretative dance message to the lawyers on the last show of the weekend? I'm sort of curious if she swears in it.
If i understood correctly, the marvel universe was recently rebooted by a huge crossover event where the universe being rebooted was the whole storyline and has ended up with this new universe with lots of new characters. It was a neat way of completely changing everything in a way that doesnt undo everything before it because everything that had happened still needs to have happened before this new universe in order for this new universe to exist, aka the star trek style of reboot; ahhh many-worlds.
I watched the intro without audio, and though that it was ellen was half paralysed, and unable to drink coffee, leading to her attempting suicide... I was severely wrong
Luke, you should know that Andy wired your phone to his account so that whenever you pay with real money, it goes to Andy's account to pay off his debt that he owes to Tom Nook.
Kobolds are Germanic shapeshifting household sprites, so neither rat nor lizard is strictly speaking correct. Although, technically Hearthstone is probably closer to the actual myths, since kobolds living in mines are described as hunched and disfigured when appearing in human-ish form.
14:25 Andy's Rupert the Bear comment just took me back to Rupert and the Frog Song, which is probably over 25 years ago! (I'm from the US, but I did see that one on Disney channel, when it was still good.)
I was wondering when that monthly "Ellen almost dies by laughter" moment was going to happen here it is ... Also that voiceover at the end sounded like a gremlin argueing with jigglypuff ...soo confused
Just happened to finish re-watching OxBox's Leggle Marvo let's play just before I watched this. And yes, "cat a cohm." Said like the small hair styling item, that is the end of the word. Unless Brits call that a "koom" too that is.
For anyone wondering about the "Job's Done" sound. It's the sound of the Eastvale Logging camp laborers in World Of Warcraft. I imagine there's something similar in Hearthstone too.
Its also the Peons voiceline for Warcraft 3, and sometimes that line plays when you finish all actions and are idle, but have yet to press the end turn button in Hearthstone.
Looks suspiciously like the white sofa from very early Show of the week episodes, but Mike claimed a 'new' sofa in April 2015. (quick scroll through the playlist thumbnails).
I can't believe you didn't mention the fun origin story of the Kobold race! It's such fun to think about! Iron ones and earthen ones were afflicted with the "Curse of the Flesh" by the Old Gods, turning their strong, healthy iron and stone bodies into weak and sickly fleshy ones. The resulting race of the dwarves was such a horror to the Titans, that they tried to cure them of being fleshy, which resulted in many failed experiments, that created Troggs instead. And after a long time of digging thorugh tunnels the Troggs with the bushiest beards claimed all the candles they could find and became Kobolds. (That last part I made up, but I dare you to prove me wrong, not even Brann Bronzebeard himself knows more details than that!)

Does the show stop for Christmas?
I'm really loving this show,
with luke and ellen in flow
Her laughter infecting
his quiz much perplexing
Outside eXtras greatest combo!
Outside Xtra don't tell Luke
I guess you could say that Ellen's puppy eyes penetrated Luke's Bark, eh! I'm sorry I'll unsubscribe
Puke Like Too late now...
Nice poem, but nothing can compare to:
*Show of the weekend
Show of the weekend
Show of the weekend
Show of the weekend
Show of the weekend
Show of the weekend
Show of the week-....end*
K. Richards - Dammit ! I've got it on the brain again, now
*sheds tear.
Gather round and hear the tale,
Of Outside Extra who never fail,
To coax a smile and raise a laugh
(especially when they make a gaffe).
Luke is tall - rather gangly,
Knows a lot about dinosaurs and he,
Knows all about boats and ships,
He introduces gaming clips,
In episodes with ranked opinions,
Like hardest boss or cutest minions.
Ellen is on the shorter side,
And she never fails to hide,
Her amusement at Luke's expressions,
She also teaches him valuable lessons,
Like questions with a secret answer,
Called Ellenings - a quiz enhancer.
Lets not forget Ellen's love of cats,
And Luke's liking for ridiculous hats,
The outlook would be rather bleak,
If they weren't on every week,
and cameos from Jane, Mike and Andy,
Help fill in the gaps - rather handy,
So keep making videos we all can stream,
Thank you - all of you - OX team.
tok3n This... is amazing
Thank you, internet person. You made the world a better place
Solid Gold
This comment didn't get the love it deserved in its own time, but I hope to remedy that.
Remember that amazing poem you wrote four years ago?
Ellen and Luke switching places gave us a brief glimpse into the alternate universe of Inside Fewer, where Alan and Lucy discuss the latest tabletop board games
With appearances by rocking horse-enthusiast Mark.
This comment got approximately 0.01% of the likes it deserves
I dub the bear-like kobold in Ellen's drawing:
"Ursa Miner".
Ellen?! Have you just told Luke? We were supposed to #NotTellLuke. Now he knows!
"Sad Ellen Eyes"
The most DEADLY of diplomacy weapons.
D'you think she'd teach us how to do that? It's incredibly effective! *cough*andutterlyadorable*cough*
LEGO OX set would be amazing. It would include the couch, the shelf, the camera and 6 mini figs of the entire crew.
Of course she isn't a Lego minifig. She's a penguin!
+Psih Opat She's a Penguin? Shouldn't she hate Batmen more then?
I don’t think Ellen can take anything seriously considering how much laughing she does, but it’s okay she has the best laugh ever it always brightens my day
Kellen Woods askers and the other half of the season was q I
That's how you know she's being serious xD
How did Ellen join outside Xtra?
Answer: Sad Puppy Eyes
Luke's murloc impression is very good. Too good! Luke is just six murlocs with clothes and copious makeup! I knew it! It explains his height! Quick, before he calls in more, they'll charge us all! We're doomed unless we unite!
Also explains his knowledge of nautical craft.
The evidence is stacking up Luke, we know the truth, just admit it
SHE TOLD LUKE!!!!!!! :O
?
Not-Lego not-Land! She never went there. Honest.
That.... That was not supposed to happen! What are we gonna do? He didn't seem to react, maybe he didn't hear? Ohmygodohmygodohmygod
?
Guess it's time to stop going "Don't tell luke."
Wait, you talked about Kobolds and Catacombs and Ellen didn't slip in a reference to the Kobolds in Kingdoms of Amalur???
Can we be sure it's the REAL Ellen?
It’s actually lego ellen
I assumed she is saving up her Kingdoms of Amalur references for being allowed to do another episode of the lets play.
Clearly a fake Ellen. Probably one of Jane’s killer robots. We should probably lock it in a closet. You know. For safety.
Kathy Aird GOD! I hate Kobolds, especially Rogue ones

Lukes train of thought,
"I need to save Ellen, but these coffees were expensive"
... or the kids in the original with that spoonful of jelly.
It was really good jelly.
Spared no expense!
Still, velociraptor. Leave the jelly.
Ellen could conquer the world with her sad puppy eyes. Good job Jane, you trained her well to be your primary weapon.
14:13 That's a nice Medieval drawing of a Kobold actually, Ellen.
I thought we weren't supposed to tell Luke about Legoland!!!
Jonathan Ewing well the cats out of the bag now
It was inevitable. He looked at the list of videos to count them.
Luke's quizzes, entertaining for Ellen and often drawing or adventures. Ellen quizzes, aimed to crush Luke's spirit...
Owning a labrador with great puppy eyes, I can state that Ellen's are difficult to refuse
Spider-Man was a lot of fun to play in Disney Infinity too. I remember one time when my brother and I played the Toybox Takeover game and we got to a section with some disappearing platforms. -whoa that took a dark turn real fast
Has anyone managed to translate Ellen's interpretative dance message to the lawyers on the last show of the weekend? I'm sort of curious if she swears in it.
Rk Brillant its nothing but swears
Emperor Caligula Wow.. I didnt know you're fluent in interpretative dance emperor Caligula. thank you, now I know.
Rk Brillant it was the only thing to do in Rome
Emperor Caligula Thats not the only thing I heard you did in rome. o_o
Loved the poem Ellen! Luke we need to see your Kobold drawing now. Also be a minnow is now my favorite thing I have ever heard.
Ellen uses Puppy Dog Eyes
It's Super Effective
A Critical hit
Luke surrenders couch.
After Ellen’s puppy eyes i went and rewatched every video you guys posted this year. With great power comes sweet sweet UA-cam revenue.
I hope that turns into the new intro, it was beautiful 😭😭👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Oh look, Luke's brought out all of Ellen's favorite parts of the quizzes: speed drawing and composing poetry.
She told Luke. Don't tell Luke.
That little nose wiggle at 18:11 was freakin adorable.
Pate from Dark Souls 2 is my favourite Peter Serafinowicz video game role he went full menacing british accent in that
"Hello, I'm Pate. I'm your friend MAYBE, maybe not."
I wish I could like these videos more than once! You all make waking up to go to work on a Saturday worth it!
5:28 I dunno Ellen, I like Evangeline Lilly but if all wasps looked like her that would probably make their larval hives kind of terrifying.
Ellen tricked you Luke! The candle question was not a yes/no question!
It's 2:00 AM in California and I'm up watching Show of the Weekend...
Am I proud of my life choices? Yes, yes I am.
AJ FilmNFX same here in washington but totally worth it
AJ FilmNFX
It’s one in Alaska!
AJ FilmNFX 4 am in Montreal, working night shift and watching show of the week-end!
luke - look up voice acting. that was a really good voice at the end there.
This is like Saturday Morning cartoons for me 😁😁
Haha me too, just came home from work and put this on.
I just realized that a major weakness of Spider Man is ... the countryside. o.O How does he quickly move around there with nothing to hang on to?
Passing birds?

that episode was an incredible gift..... thank you!
Ellen's puppy eyes contain a terrifying level of mind control potential. Quickly, please her every whim and maybe she won't use her powers for evil!
1:10 YOU TOLD LUKE! All of the time and effort I gave to the secret, for naught
Wait... Did she just.. TELL LUKE? D: And we had to keep the secret for so long D:
Ellen...you told Luke!!
Luke! You can't give in to puppy dog eyes... you should be able to hold out until it turns into a pout
At first I thought Ellen had finally lost it after being called short and small so many times.
I think "cata-KOH-mbs" is an American thing, since I'd never heard it said "cata-KUUU-mbs" until I started watching a few British UA-camrs.
That 'job's done' was perfect
There should be some sort of OXtra/OXbox cartoon that fully realises the Teams voice acting skills. Ellen's high pitched one is particularly eerie!
Bex Key 100% agree with you
Petition to make **composing occurs** the new OXTRA Merch
My inner D&D player is screaming that THAT IS NOT A KOBOLD! They're lizards, not rats!
Get it right, Hearthstone!
This creative liberties are tearing us apaaaart D:
Kobolds are Germanic shapeshifting household sprites, so neither rat nor lizard is strictly speaking correct. Although, technically Hearthstone is probably closer to the actual myths, since kobolds living in mines are described as hunched and disfigured when appearing in human-ish form.
Luke caved in after two seconds with puppy dog eyes, imagine how long he would have lasted if Ellen did the Puss in boots look from Shrek 2.
Uh oh, Ellen thinks she is a Lego figurine again. Better get the spray bottle.
Ah! Yet again show of the weekend bright up my day! Such a fun show this week! Great job everyone!
14:25 Andy's Rupert the Bear comment just took me back to Rupert and the Frog Song, which is probably over 25 years ago! (I'm from the US, but I did see that one on Disney channel, when it was still good.)
Oh god when Luke and Ellen switched places on the sofa.... I couldn't deal with that. It's just.... wrong.
Those puppyeyes shouldn't be allowed for pvp
HAX!!!
Ellen and Luke switching seats is such a jarring sight. It disrupts the natural order.
Quite an artistic episode of Show of the Weekend. I like it! :D
I was wondering when that monthly "Ellen almost dies by laughter" moment was going to happen here it is ...
Also that voiceover at the end sounded like a gremlin argueing with jigglypuff ...soo confused
Sad puppy eyes...... That's just dirty Ellen. Poor Luke.....
Still up in the U.S. at 4 a.m. as this is uploaded. Can't wait to watch the livestreams and this after exams are over!
Just happened to finish re-watching OxBox's Leggle Marvo let's play just before I watched this.
And yes, "cat a cohm." Said like the small hair styling item, that is the end of the word. Unless Brits call that a "koom" too that is.
Luke stole the seat with such cool ease I honestly expected him to hold out for you know 5 seconds
Ellen is wearing her battle skirt today. Surely that means someone must die...
Starting off with Ellen trying to decapitate herself.
Good start.
Ellen's drawing looks like something out Fantastic Mr. Fox... which is a great movie FYI.
Ellens wearing the Oxtra shirt, are they almost available online?
THAT POEM! Liked, commented, and subscribed! Just for you Ellen.
Uh oh, brace yourselves for the Luke an Thor on a park bench fan art...
Ellen always makes me laugh and smile with her laugh, thanks for that :)
UMG! Ellen's Puppy-look is nearly as precious, as the one from Puss in boots in Shrek 2
Ellen was on skynews talking about LEGGLE MARVOs and Onion Hotel this morning
It's quite fascinating that Ellen hates spiders but loves Spiderman. :D
Matthew Ashworth
Ellens attuitude towards spiders and spiderman is like hating space but then you buy a spaceship
Hah yeah, exactly. Or how Bruce Wayne had a fear of bats and decided to become Batman. :D Maybe Ellen secretly is planning to become a Spiderwoman.
She'd have to get bit by a spider...don't see that happening soon!
That's the sacrifice she'll have to make if she wants them spidey powers. :D
At what point did she get bitten by a radioactive penguin?
Show of the Weekend still has the best intro in the history of ever.
Can we have an abridged version of that poem as the intro to Show of the Weekend?
Yes please. No insult to your guitar skills, Luke, but the venerable Show of the Weekend tune could use a bit of an update.
Ellen!!! Why'd you tell Luke????
Do you actually have two different couches, or do you just change out green and purple colored covers?
Rippertear asking the real questions
they have covers i think. if you trawl their twitter, you should be able to find a corner of green poking out from under the purple
thirteen13stuff They are covers and plus it’d be too heavy/hard to keep moving couches each time a different show is filmed 😀
Looks suspiciously like the white sofa from very early Show of the week episodes, but Mike claimed a 'new' sofa in April 2015. (quick scroll through the playlist thumbnails).
Introducing Kippers the khajiits new friend Saint-André the Squeaker
friend or arch-nemesis? I mean cat... rodent.. you see where this goes.
frenemies
Petition for buddy road trip comedy in which the two of them learn to get along during a heartwarming but hilarious adventure.
Sure... maybe they could act that out next time they play D&D?
Luke: from plastic bricks and comic book action to under ground tunnels filled with rat men...
Me: smooth transition
With Disney all but certainly buying fox, I'm so looking forward to Lego X-Men
Ellen is the right size for a Lego minifig.
Luke: "I would like to hold out for more than two seconds" - Don't tell that to Thor when he calls, might ruin your chances
Oh, good thing you finally got a squeaker to help you down in the video mines! Will he be a new host then?
Wuhuuuu I made it into the "what we said in the comments" section :D You are awesome Luke and Ellen :D
Yay! You guys are the BEST! I had a crappy weekend but you always make me laugh. :)
Oh hey look at that Legoland is ellen sized!
Can we now have a rotating cast for show of the weekend now we have a perfect third member that is squeaker. I'm sure he get's up to all sorts of fun!
Sharpies and a clipboard are recipes for laughs, cries, and Ellen saying "Aw, damn it"
New 2018 power couple... Westaworth.... Would love to see this happen.
hahahaha 18:49 I love that, it will goes as my new ringtone for Outside Xtra vid notification yeeaahhh!!
I though it was good when luke escaped the video mines and made a doom-zelda video (which is sooo true) but show of the weekend is even better
"You don't understand he's wearing a hat!" I understand luke. Hats are always important -Luke #Lukesunited
