OPENING of The 2024 London Tattoo

Featuring the world famous Band of His Majesty's Royal Marines, CTCRM; "The Most Exciting Band in the Land" from Ohio University, the Marching 110; the Bands of America Grand Finalists, the Dragon Band from Round Rock High School,.
Held at London's Excel centre on the 29th of June 2024, as part of London band week

I was one of the dragon band members to the left and it was so nerve racking being the first ever high school to play at this event

As a kid....I remember seeing the old Military Tattoos at Earls Court in London...Back then the Army and Navy had to dismantle old style cannons. race the parts over an obstacle course,, reassemble the cannon, then fire a round. Always a great spectacle. The first to fire...wins. Not sure if this still happens these days 😃

The Army never took part in it once, it was always two crews from the Royal Navy

It was held at the Excel centre in London's historic Docklands. two of the six bands were from America and as each band brought their own compere, they jointly compered the event.

Big mistake - trying to mix the Royal Marine Band with American pizazz and adding an American commentator. Bloody awful.
