Fantastic video. I've been playing since the Yinlin rerun right before 2.0, and have been actively practicing and completing content since then (UL 52 now), so this is really helpful as a newbie even though I'm not THAT new anymore and have figured some of this out. For what I did know, great refresher, and for what I didnt know (like Mephis red glow attack), it's an incredible useful thing to know. I remember noticing Verina would skip her early basics if I swapped to her, but things are always happening so fast, it was something that I wasnt fully taking advantage of, but now I know for sure i wasnt imagining it, or misunderstanding what was happening during a high intensity fight.
To people who complain about parry timing... You don't have to be mindful of it all the time, just switch character and learn the timing a bit. This game doesn't just hand the flow to you, you have to earn it. And if you still can't get it right, there's no shame in dodging.
I don't think I'll ever truly enjoy WuWa's parry system. I get that being a mobile game too, it has it's limitations, but don't like how it's set up. The timings change not only between characters, they change depending on the specific animation you do, and then with some other characters you will parry without really trying. I'd rather have a dedicated parry button that you have to press at the right time, but again, I get that they had to compromise to make it viable in mobile.
@@CyborgNinjaJesus sounds like you are making excuses to not learn the game. The bosses’ parry window are as obvious as it gets, and the characters’ ease / ability to parry are distinguished by their attack move-set, and this is demonstrably better than a one-dimensional magic parry button

This was very informative. Definitely gonna try practicing in there today. I think my main issue is team building, and trying to figure out which outro's to prioritize for my dps. But this tutorial gave me the answer to my outro problem.👍
I would love for wuwa to implement something similar to a fighting game lab, where it register your moves, the damage, the dps, your buffs, etc. A controlled environment to try shit freely while understanding whats happening. It also would be cool to have better feedback on how much time is left for support buffs, like the ult of shorekeeper, sometimes I miss the opportunity to swap back to her while active.
Love this. While I was aware of most of these things from just playing the game, it's a great summary of mechanics. The attack sequence skipping when switching is something I've kind of noticed, but I never thought of the implications it has.
It's character dependent, but the advanced basic attack you get from swapping can also be a great option for parrying if you don't have enough concerto for an intro skill. Changli, for example, has a lot of parry frames on her basic attacks. So if your on field character isn't great at parrying, swapping to Changli for the parry then swapping back is an option if you see the opportunity for one.
Thank god for this amazing video because some people in this comment section keep yapping without having any idea how important dodges and parries are for generating concerto.
Will you be continuing your using underappreciated characters series anytime soon or has that been put on a long hiatus? Love all the vids coming out now but I definitely was waiting for a Taoqi vid from that series haha.
Yinlin's plunge attack parries, it's great for enemies that have an attack that charges at you, like the impermanence heron, as long as you can time it right. Her skill can also parry, but her second skill application has a delay on attack so it's hard to time it. I got the second skill to parry once out of pure luck.
