Debi just recently bought me a Garmin S70 (for an anniversary I didn't know we had🙄). Super bit of kit that I didn't know that I needed or wanted. It does all the 'extra' bits that you mentioned which is nice for me but as you said...totally not needed if you just want basic yardages.

I've took my time because I wasn't sure about the answer.
I don't think you can, you need one of their shot tracking systems to do that with the tags you put in your grips.
I'd like to see the yardages compared with a range finder.
I rarely buy these cheap come-on ad thingies but I bought a $50 rangefinder(yeah, don't know the name) and was surprised it worked so well. Locks on much faster than my Nikon golf rangefinder ever thought of doing. Of course with them if you're blocked from shooting a yardage you're screwed, but... If the GPS isn't accurate you're equally screwed.
Hi Bill , I always have my rangefinder with me as well because from 8 iron in I want to know the exact flag yardage. Ive never noticed any major discrepancy between that and what the watch is saying so I do trust it if I cant zap the flag for some reason
