I’m just realizing that all the ‘kid’ shows in disney plus are so well produced and so far from the disney model that it seems like they’ll never return to their cheesy cheap shows again
Pretty much spot on, I grew up with Disney Channel as well but with Disney+ kids now have shows like The Mandalorian and Wandavision at their fingertips. Meanwhile for me back in elementary, I had to wait for Friday night to watch shows like that (and by shows like that, I mean only the Star Wars Clone Wars series)
This. Disney+ gives consumers so much more choice. They’re not missing anything, they’re not getting less, they’re getting more. I didn’t really get this video editorials for that reason. This is a upgrade not a downgrade. Just seems like he’s mourning a bygone era. Now instead of Disney channel kids can have Marvel, Disney, Star Wars, Pixar all at your fingertips! No annoying ads because it’s subscription paid. And there’s plenty of adult content too, my mum watches greys anatomy on Disney+ religiously. It’s not just for kids it’s for everyone.
@@AXFN_ I’m actually gonna respectfully disagree, the feeling of getting to watch the premiere of a Kim Possible or Suite Life episode was and still is unmatched, with TV streaming killing the build up to new episode releases, watching a new episode nowadays hits about the same as watching a rerun back in the 2000s
@@finnmckentyslanderaccount409 It’s bc it’s not just Disney, they have rights of different companies like Marvel and Lucasfilms. Also, I wouldn’t have a 7 year-old watch The Mandolorian, I don’t think it’s suited for kids, maybe for pre-teens (12 and above), it’s even labeled as 14+ on Disney+, and that’s the maximum age restriction on Disney+ (unless you’re on the countries with the Star tab, there they have 16+ and even 18+ I think).
im kinda blessed to know i lived through that golden era of disney programming. so many gems to watch, feelings to feel, laughs to have, etc. sad to know that they’ll never be like that anymore, and you can’t really replicate that feeling the same way.
@@usersareoverrated5652 Thank you!!! It’s so annoying when people say this like Disney isn’t bad you’re just not 8 years old anymore. It applies to so many other entertainment medias as well such as music like has it really gone downhill or are you just not the target demographic.
I think it's funny how Disney+ says they want to be ahead of the curve, yet they cancelled the grown up Lizzie McGuire reboot which allowed the grown up iCarly to be the first 2000s childhood show rebooted for young adults… the audience that grew up with it. And so far, iCarly is a success -- already renewed for Season 2. I'll never forgive or get over Disney+ for dropping the ball on Lizzie like that. They could've had a surefire hit on their hands.
I’m sorry but Lizzie with adults as the main focus (since the cast are all grown up now) just doesn’t sit right with me since the show was so middle school oriented, I feel the exact same way about bringing back Ned’s Declassified as well, there’s definitely much more necessary revivals than those like Teen Titans Season 6 (Since it ended on such an anticlimactic note and since it’s animated, it can pick up right where it left off and look exactly the same as it did in 05)
@@finnmckentyslanderaccount409 this Lizzie reboot was gonna be for adults, that's why Disney decided to cancel it because the main plot for the first episode was sex and cheating
@@mikname1255 That’s another gripe I have with the reboot, Lizzie was one of the more wholesome shows from that era of children’s programming (Sure there was the bra episode but that was about as much of a fluke as a ballad from Slipknot, storylines like that definitely do not define the show as a whole). There’s so many kids shows from that time that really pushed the envelope and really could benefit from an adult reboot, like imagine Billy And Mandy with South Park levels of profanity
@Maria That would be even worse, I’m just saying that shows like that only really work in a middle school setting and since the cast are all grown up there’s no way in hell they can do that, so rebooting it in general is just a terrible idea (as is rebooting most non animated kids shows imo) since the charm of the original is automatically taken away and what’s left is just another generic grown up sitcom
@@finnmckentyslanderaccount409 that’s understandable tbh if it did happen I’ll be like adult exclusive or they’ll have to have a lot of older teen exclusive shows to separate the Young teen and kids; plus it’s too late they old now….tbh if they can have Disney jr I wonder if it would’ve been possible to have like Disney 16+
What also hurt Disney Channel is what also has hurt Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network for at least the last decade. Targeting pre teens and under vs. all ages. Even a series like classic Rugrats can be enjoyed by adults today.
Amphibia? The owl house? Big city greens? The ghost and Molly mcgee? Ducktales reboot? Those are all great shows that came out pretty recently so they still are making good cartoons for the most imo
I’d have to disagree I don’t think targeting pre teens and under hurts them at all I’d argue that there’s never really been a time in which any of these networks primarily targeted adults. The only reason we watch and enjoy older tv shows from our childhood isn’t because they were made appease all ages but rather because of nostalgia.
I think there are still some parents that don't want their young children exposed to "adult" content. As long as that exists, some parents will want children to watch children's things, and have separate things for adults. The problem is what constitutes as "child" or "adult" is blurring sometimes.
Considering the popularity bringing back Vinyl after so many years I wouldn’t be surprised. The same thing can be said about dvds one day also, since they seem to be dying out currently.
As an adult gen Z I’m grateful for the role that Disney played in my childhood, but all the expl*itation of child stars and shady business has made me lose respect for the corporation. They’ll still rule the world, but hopefully they won’t cause so much suffering in the name of entertainment from here on out.

This already happened here in the UK Honestly seeing everyone’s comments is hitting hard not going to lie As a 2000s kid, this is sad, but I’m so so blessed to have lived through 00s and early 2010s Disney (and Nickelodeon ofc) I Label that time of my life as “What a Time To Be Alive”

People are a little late to the “decline of the movie theatre” conversation it was going for years prior to 2020. Ticket sales revenue has been consistently dropping, and theatre companies have been bracing for impact for many years. 2020 caught them off guard tho, that ‘10 year plan’ had to become a ‘NOW PLAN’ to save their business. AMC was literally on the brink of bankruptcy and came out with a desperate letter saying “hey guys, if we don’t get funding soon we’ll be run out of money”, Jon Campea covered this well. Movie theatres will have to become move than just screens & snacks. Things like events/experiences, 4DX, dine-in cinemas, private club cinemas you pay a monthly subscription fee to use, showing classic movies, and just making movie-going a more luxury/premium experience worth you leaving home for. A big screen and overpriced popcorn just isn’t going to cut it anymore. This is the new era. It’s time to get creative and embrace the future. We’ll also start having to think about pivoting to China since the Chinese market is set to overtake the American market in the next few years.
Well with China, their domestic market is super strong these days. There's probably now less incentive for Hollywood to cater to the Chinese market. But agreed with you cinemas. They are going to need to make the experience worth it.
2000s disney shows was so nostalgic like zack & cody, wizards of waverly place, that’s so raven, also for nickelodeon like victorious was my favorite show on nick, literally my childhood ❤️
Disney channel run was from 2000-2015. The last good show was Jessie ( which ended in 2015 ). They also went downhill after they removed that mickey mouse logo. People still watch Disney on TV but not like how the 2000s.
Do you guys remember when the biggest crossover was That’s so Raven with Suite life or Hannah Montana with wizards. The anticipation of coming back from school and seeing them was something younger generation will never have
It's crazy and sad to see our childhoods ending right before our eyes. Not just with Disney but with everything. Just a time when it wasn't just about the money, but making us kids genuinely happy Edit: I know they want money🤦🏿♂️. Everyone wants money. But I said it wasn't ALL about the money but actually making a good movie/show. But NOW it's all about the money and damn remakes trying to cash on our nostalgia
@Kirk Kristopher nah I understand that. And I agree, because it's moving technology along and society along. But I just think it's not the same. We're still gonna get that nostalgia, but idk, just the innocence of it all will be missed by me. Flipping through the channels. Seeing the toy commercials. Just the whole 9 yards I guess
You guys allowed it by allowing the media to pollute us with this toxicity and their nonsense agendas. Also we all know this whole covid thing is planned.
Their movies definitely were far more influential in their rise globally than the Disney channel, especially considering many countries don’t even have Disney Channel despite knowing their iconic films.
You know I was JUST thinking “What do they even show on kids TV these days? What kid even watches TV if it’s not a smart TV just using streaming services?”
Maybe it's because you grew out of it? I don't know how old you are but Disney Channel's always gonna have cringy unwatchable shows but there's also gonna be at least couple shows with better writing. I've learned that as I grew up and so far the only current shows I actually like are Sydney to the Max, Secrets of Sulphur Springs and Raven's Home
Im a Disney stock holder. They announced on investor day last year that they were shifting all their focus to direct to consumer. They were already transitioning but the situation forced them to act faster it’s all about disney+ now and subscriptions are doing so well! A lot of kids are moving to Disney+ so the Disney channel services will be there, they have to evolve with the times and go where the money is.
thats really interesting. Do you have an idea of how their current focus on live action remakes add to that? as in, they are just trying to expand their collection without necessarily expanding the "disney cinematic universe"?
it is kinda bittersweet, as a kid there was always that annoyance when your favorite show stopped playing and they switched to someone you didn't like so you had to change the channels to find something new. But at the same time streaming services just don't match the feeling of excitement we had when our favorite networks went on whole marathons of the best shows. I think it'll be okay though if Streaming services separate brands more, like how HBO Max separates HBO, Cartoon Network, and Studio Ghibli etc. As long as the networks live on as brands rather than separate tv channels like they used to, there's still plenty of nostalgia to be had switching from one to another whenever you feel like it.
Well Disney is a channel meant for kids so why would they have to grow with their audience? That only applies with their reboot shows like Raven, Boy Meets World or Lizzie
@@mikname1255 Hannah Montana is a prime example of this. The first season was marketed towards tweens. The characters were in middle school and delt with first time crushes, awkwardness and that whole family vs friends thing. Same with the second. Then things went drastically downhill for the third season. Instead of staying on the same age level or growing up as the characters and its audience did, the show target demographic plummeted to be palatable for 4 years olds with puppets and ice cream dances.
@les rete hmm that show isn't a good example of that as my mom, grandma and my 10 year old self hated that show and pointed out that show for disney channel's decline in quality as we all felt that it wasn't good
@@jalapeno1119 seasons 1 and 2 of Hannah Montana are GOATS, season 3 is by far the worst as half of the episodes could be just errased and nothing will change and season 4 is outstanding but at the same time not as good as S1-2, but tbh S3 soundtrack has serious bops
When Miley, Selena and Demi left Disney Channel, they couldn't find their next signature star anymore. They had potential candidates like China Anne McClain, Coco Jones, Zendaya (she got big but Disney didnt treat her like the main star she was meant to be), etc. Bridget Mendler doesn't count because they didn't really see her as marketable and she didn't become huge after Disney or do much. It's like John Cena being the last megastar in professional wrestling since he's already broken out into the mainstream and wrestling's ratings and relevance are declining in the US.
@@aaliyahfoster2705 I know but when that show came out, she didn't need Disney Channel anymore because she was getting a lot of acting gigs in major blockbusters.
Zendaya was also NEVER marketed like the other girls from the 2000s, tbh. Idk if you were there, but the way Raven, Hilary and Miley were promoted was the best. They felt like legit stars you had to tune in for. I never got that from Zendaya on the channel. Honestly, I never got that from China or Bridgette either. They were just there and I guess it's because at the time I still had Disney Channel, the biggest star was Selena Gomez. Well, she was the only big star. Again, everyone just felt like they were there because they met the requirements except they lacked stardom.
Streaming is definitely a competition for theaters. I don't know if it'll kill the theater business because people do enjoy the experience of the theater. However. Streaming is the future.
@Confessions Of A Movie Freak Yep, The pop stans, boomers, and people who only know him from his controversies will try to tell you different but they either haven’t heard his discography or have no appreciation for the art of music production and I say all this as a metal guy
@Maria The All-New Mickey Mouse Club actually ran on Disney Channel for 5 years from 1989-1994. Britney and Christina were on the last 2 seasons I think.
The movie theaters were dying before the pandemic, it’s too expensive. I went to see Joker, an intentionally didn’t buy popcorn or drinks. It was still $15.01 for my one movie ticket
I agree no one's going to spent that much money on a movie unless it's garenteed to make money like spiderman no way home. There's a reason why you will only be able to watch spiderman no way home in theater because it going to make bank.
i think the theatre is only good for the cinematic experience such as the visual or auditory aspect. i would never go to the cinema for every movie that comes out unless it’s an action or something. it would only be useful for big franchise movies such as MARVEL
Honestly it's just as expensive to rent or buy the movie on streaming services now anyways. So if I'm going to pay that much I might as well go to the theater to get the full experience.
Disney's already shutting down a lot of their channels in Southeast Asia, even though Disney+ isn't available here yet. It's kind of unfair that they haven't made the platform available here yet, despite the demographic being huge.
Ikr. I think it’s available in like Thailand and Indonesia but for some reason not in the Philippines where everyone speaks English. They literally don’t have to put subtitles.
I am so sick of people like you that say things like this, there is no right generation. We all grow up in different generations, we all have an emotional connection to something that was a big part of our childhood but that doesn’t mean that those that didn’t experience the same are unlucky or born in the wrong generation.
I feel bad for kids for future generations because they won’t able to see the classics Disney channel shows. Nowadays, we’re streaming and it won’t be same.
I grew up watching Disney Channel during the early 2000s, and I stopped watching TV when I started working, smartphones were invented and streaming became available. I just had no time to watch other shows I don't care about while waiting for my fave show, and my fave is readily available online, so this doesn't break my heart that much. I just grew up, and I just couldn't relate to Disney Channel anymore (especially the new shows)

I will always be grateful for my experiences as a child. I would love to watch my favorite shows’ episodes premiere with my cousins. It was such a big thing for us to meet at each other’s houses to watch each new episode. I will always remember the joy in those nostalgic moments.
Theaters will stay because people miss the atmospere of a theater that lets people have full undivded attention on a movie uninterupted with zero possibility for distractions, a place to sit, relax, and chill for 90mins with air conditioning that also isn't awkward as the gym or Starbucks. Home viewing isn't the same, movies tend to get watched on phones at stolen moments here and there when one is not side tracked and when watched on tv movies just become background noise to multitask to at half attention. Home viewing sometimes just really sucks, especially for event popcorn movies like Cruella, I wish I would have seen that in theaters treating myself to penut m&ms and vanilla coke and made a day of it with my niece like pre covid days but instead I watched it high on edibles while cleaning my room and wasted a truly fun film.
The whole "being able to stream brand new movies on Disney +" is incredibly stupid and quite sad. The feeling you get when you go to the cinema is fucking amazing
Watching kungfu panda 3 in theaters was awesome. Theres nothing like a theater experience with the big screen and other people usually as excited to be there as you are. I guess atmosphere is key. I went to see this movie with friends and it's a nice memory too. I hope it's not my last movie theater trip either.
@@yunogasai1338 this is the exact thing I was talking about, you nailed it! The key is absolutely the atmosphere and how we're all there, how we all come together, for that one thing, that one masterpiece. Sitting at home and watching Netflix and Disney + is far too common nowadays and going to the movies is such a treasure. Not to mention that releasing movies on streaming apps is damaging to the actors and everyone who worked on the movie (such as the Scarlett Johanson situation)

Tbh I'm not super worried about movie theaters They might go kind of out of style, but you're not JUST paying for the movie, you're paying for an experience
It's amazing that there are no more "lifestyle" tv networks. MTV, VH1, E!, Bravo, Spike, etc, etc...They all just air old movies and tv shows. It's kinda sad.
I feel kinda sad about kids that are born nowadays. It is never gonna be the same, like they won’t be just turning on the tv to see what’s on the channel (any channel in reality, not just Disney Channel) and maybe getting to know a new show/movie and just watch it whenever it’s on air. Or if they where staying up late or woke up from a nightmare and turned the tv on and discovered a show/movie that was released like 7 years ago and enjoy it. Now they will have the choice of what to watch, but how will you find hidden gems (whether they are old or just less promoted)? For example, I was born in 2003 and when I was very little, I watched some Lizzie McGuire reruns, even my mom reminded me of that the other day, just last year I watched the whole show and the movie, and I loved it, but I would’ve never know about it, if I didn’t have the reruns on the tv (or love pop culture, it really helped), same with the Cheetah Girls and many other things. The only benefit they will have is that they will be able to watch the complete shows and not in disorder.
this is really true. it’s hard to find good shows now a days. i literally have to google say “good crime show” or “shows like the wire” etc. you can’t go off netflix’s top 10 cause usually the shows aren’t even good.

I'm not going to lie, I really do believe after the era of Disney for Millennials ended, Disney Channel was not the same. Us growing up and out of it, changed Disney forever. The next gen was like NAH not for us! The best era and the last era.
Tweens and teens unfor.wouldn't be watching DC because of how younger children are "aging faster" nowadays. Like, an 8yo would love hannah Montana but I see 11 and 12year olds getting into Riverdale and other more adult content. Sadly. I was hooked on cheetah girls at 15 but today, that's seen as too babyish and not edgy enough.
That's so sad. Cheetah girls was one of my favorites when I was twelve or ten. It's been awhile. I remember Disney channel would show the music videos constantly during commercial breaks.
Lol that's true, anyone over 6 would be like "Hannah is so childish" and would prefer stuff like the one u said, and man, no, when I was 6 I pretended to be Hannah Montana
As it should. It was great during the 2000's and early 2010. The quality has gone down hill when they started focusing on preteen and middle school kids.
Nickelodeon and Disney have BEEN 🌽 balls since they pushed out most of the people of color in their programming. They also used to make meaningful movies like "The Color of Friendship", then shortly after that, they were making movies like "High School Musical" 🙄...
I understand that High School Musical is formulaic and generic at its core but objectively, is it really a bad movie? No it is not, and I am not just saying that because I grew up with it. It is still well-acted, especially from Zac Efron, Ashley Tisdale and Corbin Bleu, and while the story is predictable, it is still well told and the message is made clear. Its success did not ruin the network, and u know what else? There r some DCOMS that came out BEFORE High School Musical that are a lot worse in quality, like Genius, Hounded and (as I recently discovered) You Lucky Dog.

So depressing! I’ve seen the fall of Cable tv for a while now and there’s really nothing that can compare to the feeling of waking up on a Saturday morning and watching reruns of shows, seeing your favorite characters present what’s coming up through bumpers and commercials. Movie theaters are really something else too, streaming is fine but it just feels all so fake and artificial over time.
Streaming will never take over cable. It never did and never will. Most People will still prefer to go watch a movie at the theaters rather than watching it streaming
I’m the first comment on this and it’s sad for 90s/00s babies like me (early 04er) to see that Disney channel is slowing dying right before our eyes. We’re so blessed to be the last generation to know what’s it like to come after school everyday and sit in the living room and turning on some classic tv shows that I still look up to this day (Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, That’s So Raven, Lizzie McGuire, Good Luck Charlie, Fish Hooks etc.) For me personally, it’s not just about the rise of internet and social media like you said, but I stopped watching Disney Channel back in 2015 when logo change, my shows Jessie, Austin and Ally, and Phineas and Ferb got off the air and all the new shows were straight up garbage, but I felt like each of the plots have potential, 🤔however it was rushed, wrong casts, and forced acting is really killing the entertainment that I was hoping for ☹️ Sadly, it is what is and this is how they’re gonna entertain kids today, but for anyone who is 13+ won’t understand that this new reality we’re unfortunately gonna deal with for the rest of our lives and certain content of Disney nowadays is just not for the teens/adults like me 🙂 Thank you for bringing me nostalgic memories that I have with this channel before streaming services really took over our lives 😘☺️ It’s really appreciated that I get to revisit my memories and how grateful it has taught us so many life lessons that I still have to this day 🥰☺️🥺✨
True after Bizarrdvark ended I didn’t care about Olivia and forgot she existed mainly bc I stopped watching that show after the first season and lost interest. When I heard she was going to star in the high school musical series that’s when she blew up and a lot of people started paying attention to her.
@C · of course they’re not as big as them but I feel like Dove, Sabrina and of course Zendaya. Are the last ones to really make noise outside of Disney. Zendaya is obviously a huge actress. Sabrina is doing good on acting and singing and Dove has the power puff girls show which is probably gonna get her a Riverdale type of fandom
Kids are into UA-cam kids now. It’s what My nephews all watch. I don’t get it but it’s what they like so 🙄I put that’s so raven on and shows I watched and they won’t sit still.
I did the same with my nephew. He didn’t watch them either. It makes me disappointed that he won’t have any shows to reminisce about when he’s older. I can name so many it’s too much to count. And he probably can’t name at least 3.
UA-cam Kids is awful not gonna lie. It's either advertising or really inappropriate flash animations using characters from shows like PAW Patrol, no inbetween
I havent watched tv since 2006. For over a decade i refused to have a tv in my bedroom...until my dad gave me one on a whim lol i am thinking about getting a fire stick tho
Disney has been my childhood. I grew up with HSM, Camp Rock, Hannah Montana, Suite Life, Wizards of Waverly Era. Sad, but this move is really ideal now because few people watches cable tv. If not, then there might be none anymore.
As a 90's baby, this makes me really sad. :( Disney Channel was a huge part of my childhood, especially my middle school and high school years. It'll really suck to have to say goodbye to it.
Disney channel ended a long time ago, it was on its last legs after the 2010s and the 90s, early 2000s before passing 2010 was its golden era which isn't bad that's loosely three decades more or less.
This is so so sad since all throughout my childhood, disney channel was my source of entertainment. I looked forward to go home after school to watch disney shows everyday but i know the reason why the channel will end soon since children today don’t want to watch tv and instead play with their gadgets or watch on streaming platforms like disney+
Having to choose what to watch gets tiresome after awhile. Most shows I would never choose to watch I ended up liking because "it's what was on" while channel surfing or out in public somewhere. Having too many choices with Netflix etc- I just browse and browse and end up watching nothing.
I’m gonna really miss FalalalaHolidays or whatever, Or the Monstober events, Disney channel originals airing every now and then The Disney channel music videos, etc
Yeah the cinemas will still be around for a while because of that experience. What will speed or slow things down is incentive like price which happening quickly on the music side. The people still purchasing physical games, albums, and movies are people who appreciate the ownership of the media and are aware of the preservation measures of it.
Agh times have changed so much since I was kid watching Disney channel. I remember when they had one Saturday morning and when we had to wait on the TV guide channel to see when our shows we’re gonna come on lol
Some might say Disney Channel OG's are the ones who were there when Disney Channel began. But Disney Channel did not truly become a household name, until the premiere of Lizzie McGuire. So, on those terms, I am proud to say, that I was there for it all. From Lizzie McGuire to Bunk'D, 2001-2021, Disney Channel was an amazing ride.
Sorry but the 2010s was not an amazing ride for Disney Channel, they were in a downward slump. Not every show was a winner, in fact only a handful were gems
As a 2000 baby, and a 00s kid, this is just pretty sad to see how much technology has affected a generation! I'm thankful that I grew up in the golden age of Disney/Disney Channel, but we would all probably be streaming shows and movies through Apps, Roku and UA-cam and other streaming services within 5 years!
I'm actually happy for this bc Disney Channel often made idealistic shows that didn't reflect real life and that had an negative impact on the actors/actress now "teen" shows on Disney+ are much better
I grew up waiting every Friday for each episode, constantly on the TV, I was ADDICTED!! Watching the experience go before my eyes makes me emotional. Future kids would never get it 🥲😔 the early 2009’s shaped me to who I am today, besides middle school and while I grew up, technology was growing up as well. Kids these days have the highest advanced technology, real crazy. I remember just like yesterday when Blockbuster was closing down. I lived near one and always went and I was so sad to hear they would never open again 😣
i mean, i'm not mad nor sad about it, it's just the end of an era and we have to accept that. at least we have our childhood shows on disney+ so that's great.
When VHS surged in popularity in the 1980s, people were saying "Ah, this is going to put the movie theaters out of business". Especially when there were rental stores that were cheaper. They said the same thing about DVDs, and then DVDs offered an "extensive" experience with cutscenes and special extras. I think people who don't want to pay monthly "bills" to watch one movie may still be inclined to go to the movie theater. And if movie production companies decide to use streaming ONLY after the movie hits the theaters for a few weeks, it has a chance to survive.
Going to the movie theater well it felt so glamorous and exciting to me when I was young and it still is Sitting in this beautiful theater watching something you've been waiting for on the big screen The movie theater was almost a portal into another world and I pray it will not go
I’m just realizing that all the ‘kid’ shows in disney plus are so well produced and so far from the disney model that it seems like they’ll never return to their cheesy cheap shows again
Good riddance
@@finnmckentyslanderaccount409 It’s bc it’s not just Disney, they have rights of different companies like Marvel and Lucasfilms.
Yeah looking back now, most of the cartoons after the 2010's were straight up for kids, from 2000-2010 was when they made very good cartoons.
@@chillyman7340 1996-2014 was the best era for cartoons on cable. After that, they all moved to HBO Max, Netflix, Hulu, UA-cam, Newgrounds, etc.
It would be funny if we all just collectively agreed in 20 years to go back to watching tv 💀

A big screen and overpriced popcorn just isn’t going to cut it anymore. This is the new era. It’s time to get creative and embrace the future. it is kinda bittersweet, as a kid there was always that annoyance when your favorite show stopped playing and they switched to someone you didn't like so you had to change the channels to find something new.

I feel like the only thing that's really keeping Disney channel alive is the big animation show such as the owl house ,and amphibia , but mostly due to how they're forced for be released on cable first ,and not on streaming services until the channel has put out in the last few years.
Tbh I'm not super worried about movie theaters
They might go kind of out of style, but you're not JUST paying for the movie, you're paying for an experience
The only benefit they will have is that they will be able to watch the complete shows and not in disorder.
this is really true. it’s hard to find good shows now a days. i literally have to google say “good crime show” or “shows like the wire” etc. you can’t go off netflix’s top 10 cause usually the shows aren’t even good.
oh my god can you guys stop it? seriously enough that's annoying asf, you are saying all of these things because it's a nostalgia for you, nowadays kids gonna have their own memories too. let kids to live their time without all of that "my time was better shit" !
@@guokfdukknbgjk9416 I agree, let the kids be kids, it’s not about that Kids network gets worse, but it’s how they entertain kids today it’s just not for Millennials and Gen Z like me
No need to feel sad for the kids born nowadays. The are also going to create memories just like you lmao. Our parents before were also probably like "kids these days will never have real movie experiences. When i was younger everyone loved going to the theater once every 4 months!"
You feel sad that kids can easily access there favorite shows without having to wait for it to air on tv??????
Weird much
these new shows have me bawling! the acting is so corny
Cough cough highschool musical show cough cough
Theyve always been corny when i look back n watch some. But some of it... is just... bad LOL hahaha
The acting is the same. Yall only watch old shows for nostalgia. The comedy and writing is the exact same. Honestly I like some new shows better than the old ones.
@@roralojane
The writing on Sydney to the Max is less frustrating and actually gets progressively better as it goes on. Secrets of Sulphur Springs is even better
Let me wonder why! Is it because your 24 and these shows are made for 6 year old little girls? wow 😲 could the reason you think it sucks is because you're old and not the target demographic? That's so shocking!
There will always be people who prefer & might I add specific events that require the experience to be seen on a giant screen 🤷🏾♂️
Me at 17 who still watches PAW Patrol and Blue's Clues: 😳 (I 100% agree with your point though)
Lol that's true, anyone over 6 would be like "Hannah is so childish" and would prefer stuff like the one u said, and man, no, when I was 6 I pretended to be Hannah Montana
nah cause i thought they were shutting down 💀
Maybe if Disney came out with better shows ppl would be excited to watch it😗
Fr
disney channel been ended, once Hannah Montana was over chile 😭
Nah there were still good shit on
Disney's prime is long gone, and with this new age of social media and streaming, it's probably not going to fair well.
Early! And I agree with this vid! Disney died after they canceled all the good old shows
*It’s just so depressing to see what the Disney Channel has become at this point. A channel that has produced classic shows like That’s So Raven, Kim Possible, Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire, etc. Nowadays they produce shows that are terrible or that make you cringe. SMH.*
My thoughts exactly
Even as an 00s baby, you just took my words out 😩🗣 I had experience the last peak era of Disney, but it would’ve been nice if I would’ve been born an couple years earlier instead of being 2004 so I can experience the golden era ENTIRELY ☹️ These shows today are just putting me to sleep and nothing interesting about it at all 🤦🏽♀️ It’s just so cheesy, bland, boring, and annoying asf 😒 I even tried to go back to watching Disney couple of occasions, but it’s just keep getting worse and I couldn’t get through 5 minutes through the episodes so I was like NOPE 👎🏾 *turns off tv* and go back to either sleep or watching UA-cam videos that actually gives a damn about entertainment 😩😩 I really wish Disney and other kids network would just drop their habits COMPLETELY and carefully come up with a plan and produce projects that are not only of entertainment, but actually educational that we as humans needed for our lifetimes as we grow up 😩😩😩😩
Lizzie McGuire was kinda cringe imo. Lmao but ya
It's not just Disney channel. Cartoon network is doing the same thing.
They don’t think kids are interested in watching quality content on cable anymore. All the good stuff is on devices now.
We’re so blessed to be the last generation to know what’s it like to come after school everyday and sit in the living room and turning on some classic tv shows that I still look up to this day (Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, That’s So Raven, Lizzie McGuire, Good Luck Charlie, Fish Hooks etc.) For me personally, it’s not just about the rise of internet and social media like you said, but I stopped watching Disney Channel back in 2015 when logo change, my shows Jessie, Austin and Ally, and Phineas and Ferb got off the air and all the new shows were straight up garbage, but I felt like each of the plots have potential, 🤔however it was rushed, wrong casts, and forced acting is really killing the entertainment that I was hoping for ☹️ Sadly, it is what is and this is how they’re gonna entertain kids today, but for anyone who is 13+ won’t understand that this new reality we’re unfortunately gonna deal with for the rest of our lives and certain content of Disney nowadays is just not for the teens/adults like me 🙂 Thank you for bringing me nostalgic memories that I have with this channel before streaming services really took over our lives 😘☺️ It’s really appreciated that I get to revisit my memories and how grateful it has taught us so many life lessons that I still have to this day 🥰☺️🥺✨
Wow I'm an 04er as well!!! I agree!
Sabrina Carpenter, Dove Cameron and of course Zendaya are the last traditional stars to come out of Disney. Olivia too but she’s from Disney+.
Yes Sabrina has tons of talents and her new song skinny dipping is releasing on September 9th so presave on her website!!!
I just found out Honest and Blackyspeakz are related. That’s crazy…
don't lie!?
Fr??
R u serious?

Not surprised if it’s true lol
You put stuff *YOU* watched what *YOU* felt nostalgic for.
I havent watched tv since 2006. For over a decade i refused to have a tv in my bedroom...until my dad gave me one on a whim lol i am thinking about getting a fire stick tho
Yes a fire stick is an excellent choice just wait for a sale on Amazon
I fear the fall of the theater, I really do. I still want to go to the theater and be transported to another place, you get what I mean
Disney has been my childhood. I grew up with HSM, Camp Rock, Hannah Montana, Suite Life, Wizards of Waverly Era. Sad, but this move is really ideal now because few people watches cable tv. If not, then there might be none anymore.
Oh no😭 my childhood
I still miss the in-person movie experience. I’ll always go to the theater
As a 90's baby, this makes me really sad. :( Disney Channel was a huge part of my childhood, especially my middle school and high school years. It'll really suck to have to say goodbye to it.
Yep, very sad indeed
Disney Channel as we (as in late ‘90s/ early ‘00s kids) knew it has been gone!
I agree with how DC has changed very badly since 2016 and onwards. You should do one on Nickelodeon next. 😊
Yea
I’m gonna really miss FalalalaHolidays or whatever,
Or the Monstober events,
Disney channel originals airing every now and then
The Disney channel music videos, etc
The Summer festivals!
we been home for the past two years … i’m tired of staying home and watch movies.
I adore cinema !!!! I prefer by far going to the theaters 💕
Bruh imagine working in the television industry nowadays 😂
Literally television is dead now
@@strawberrylov3r333 I am not sure what will happen with tv in the future but it’s not dead now
I don't think streaming has killed dvd/blu-ray. A lot of people still buy their favorite shows and movies for when they move services or lose wifi.
As a 2000 baby, and a 00s kid, this is just pretty sad to see how much technology has affected a generation! I'm thankful that I grew up in the golden age of Disney/Disney Channel, but we would all probably be streaming shows and movies through Apps, Roku and UA-cam and other streaming services within 5 years!
disney channel definitely peaked in the 2000’s, and started to take a decline in 2014 after the logo change imo.
so true
So true
Agree.
Good luck Charlie was the last good Disney show imo
I feel like 2010 was like the last era of Disney and to 2017 Disney went down hill
Yes!
Disney Channel needed to be put down like Old Yeller, tbh.
i mean, i'm not mad nor sad about it, it's just the end of an era and we have to accept that. at least we have our childhood shows on disney+ so that's great.
Going to the movie theater well it felt so glamorous and exciting to me when I was young and it still is
Sitting in this beautiful theater watching something you've been waiting for on the big screen
The movie theater was almost a portal into another world and I pray it will not go
