Thanks. I was just at Radio Shack and they have a new mixer that is not even on their website yet and I am pretty sure it is a Gemini version of the PDM 02 but with just an echo effect but with the 10 band EQ for $99! It is labeled a 4 channel mixer in the store display as a Radio Shack brand.
There are 2 knobs. An effect volume knob, and an effect speed knob. I set the speed to about 30-40%. I turn the volume to be a bit higher than whatever the volume is on the channel I'm using, then press one of the effect buttons. I've never had a problem with them. I do wish they were programmable.
Its "OK". Not great, and not bad. I'm really not too crazy about the effects that come with it. I should have bought the PDM-03 which has programmable effects. The crowd noise one cuts off, which is annoying. That can be eased by fading the volume when you are using it. But, the thing that sold me on this mixer is the built in 10band EQ, not the effects.
I would like to now what the applause button sounds like. That could be a great effect if has a good sound. also the vocal effect could be good for karaoke using the mics but who knows how decent that is?
