    I have just read that if a computer wants to send a packet to another computer in the same subnet uses local-link address with the prefix FE80::/64(stateless autogenerate ) instead of MAC address, here you used the global addressing

      This video was created by the Cisco Systems and I am just sharing it under fair use agreements.

      I think you are getting it mixed up with EUI-64 link-local addresses. If, for instance, I ping the global unicast address of a computer in the same subnet as I am, the operation showed in the video will occur if I do not know the MAC address associated to the recipient. If I recall correctly, the destination MAC multicast is 33:33:{the last 4 bytes of the IPv6 address}

      @@Oreoezi But for learning sake, wouldn't it be better to use link local addresses once it is a lecture about ipv6 communication within the LAN

      @@rfc-793-darpa it is still a link local address. Anyways on a different note I passed my networking exams and this knowledge's been slowly exiting my brain ever since.

      This clip was made by Cisco training team. I obtained the video and uploaded here but I did not create the video. Unfortunately, they do sometimes have audio quality issues.
